Even the best laid plans go wrong,
The unexpected comes along.
Before you know it, suddenly,
You are in new territory.

When that happens what do you do?
Do you give up or see it through?
'Tis a decision you must make...
To give up or a risk to take.

You may decide to take a chance,
To fly by the seat of your pants,
You might stick with it, come what may,
Just let the chips fall where they may.

Or choose to play it safe you may,
Retreat to fight another day,
Decide the risk is just too great
With too much left to chance, to fate.

Perhaps it is a hunch, your gut,
The weighing up of ifs and buts
That helps you reach a decision
That which for you is the right one.

You and you alone have to choose
And whether you win or you lose,
Your reasoning to you is known,
The decision but yours to own.

Love and trust
Two different sensation
With complex interactions
Love without trust is pointless
Love with trust is a risk
Trust without love is being naive
Trust with love is devotion
You see my love?
love alone is futile
But if you put some trust
It would be a bliss for our hearts
So my beloved
When I say I love you
Please believe it's true
When I say forever
Know I'll never leave you
When I say goodbye
Promise me you won't cry
Coz the day I'll be saying that
Would be the day I die

Be open-minded and admit the possibility
That some things are objectively wrong
We all live in a constant state of gray area

I see you pretty often, maybe once every week or so
For a moment our bubbles come very close to overlapping
But they so far have always held firm
Which is, in one respect, kind of amazing
Yet in another, to be expected

Our bubbles are made of rubber and concrete
Our lives are so different - we’re separated by
Class, gender, age, ethnicity and health history
Different in almost every way you could imagine
Save for location, which again is amazing

If we ever step out of our bubbles one day
And I actually hope we do
It will be uncomfortable, I imagine, and also
Potentially dangerous for both of us
But it could turn out great

Most people ask themselves I guess
Whether it’s worth the risk
And say no and they probably make assumptions
And I so far haven’t made too many about you
Although to make none is impossible and so of that I am proud

Some things might be wrong even if
Everyone does them and even if
You or I do them constantly
Without an ounce of guilt
It’s possible anyway
This is about finding the ways society tricks us into believing we are good people.

he makes the world wait
for his beating whim
radiating the smell of artificial cherries and failure
your kindest words slit my throat like a knife
you are my closest beckoning risk
a testament neverending
he begs for no one but his love
his pain is wasted upon men screaming slurs and shouting hate
he’ll tattoo the lines on his wrist and vow to the masses
all is mind inside my well
take it back love
your complete contentment and absolute absolution
is too much for my weakening confidence in your wellbeing
simply free loving he says*
find the good behind my darkened eyes and i will reap all your sins
my dear sweet ever suffering risk
i hope you know youre the kind of person a girl writes ****** poetry about

If you make the
greatest discovery
will you give away
her top secret?
Is nature at risk?

Obstacles await you
They're all along your path
Accept them as challenges
Don't glare at them in wrath

What are obstacles, really
But adventures in disguise?
Every adventure comes
With the risk of demise

Great adventures await you
They block and bar your way
Will you greet them with a smile?
Or will they taunt you day by day?

Don't let an obstacle control you
Don't sit down and sigh
Just call it an adventure
And know that you'll get by
Definitely a Dr. Seuss vibe in this one. It would fit right in with "Oh, the Places You'll Go". I hope you enjoy It!

Who am I?
"How silly,"
the pond replies,
"Seems your eyes'd
see through your disguises
a sight better than mine."

But when I reach into the deep,
distorted ripples lull to sleep
the me I'd need
to really make
these murky waters shine.

"Then come inside,
the water's fine,
or at least
it's all you've got to drink."
But if I submerge,
Will I ever emerge?
Or drown myself
with liquid think?

What will I find
but fishing line
cast from some other
fisherman's rod?

Is anything mine,
swimming behind
the genes of history?
Perhaps I'll try...
But I may die.
"Oh, what a mystery........."

For who am I
to have this choice?
Just some noise,
a soulless voice
dawdling in the shallows.
"But would you become
A forgotten old crumb,
A bundle of bone and tallows?"

No, I'd wish not,
but what've I got?
This pond's no ocean,
that's sure.
"So return one day
when you've steeled your faith
or maybe obtained
a magic lure."

I recall now the reason
I love winter's season,
alone on my land dwelling
limbo.
While frozen you are
reflecting the stars
over schools of mindless
minnow.

Suddenly I am so confused
Which way am I supposed to go?
Want to lie so you don't see
There is so much more you don't know.

Slowly I'm unraveling
My mask wearing thin
I am spilling my heart to you
Why am I so scared to win?

This is not a game of make-believe
All of my mistakes are real
Everywhere I turn I find
I am trapped by what I feel.

These close walls are my security
Risks I cannot take
Every time I talk to you
They threaten to break

I hardly recognize the face
Staring from my reflection
Mirroring a complete stranger
Who desires perfection.

Seconds slowly fall away
Like sand through an unending sieve
My heart's telling me to stay
Despite the fact I should leave.

Where can I run to?
Is there anyone I can trust?
When shadows are dancing
With wind and dust.

I am going to take a risk
Though it may seem strange
I know this is right for once
I am going to listen to my heart for a change.
Listen to your heart when he's calling for you
