i don't need any
flower's petals to know that
you do not love me
E Townsend Nov 2015
I am last season's remains
a cracked, dry petal
fallen off a prinses irene tulip.
I beg for attention,
for human affection
much like a plant demands
water to live. Please tell me the lonely
winter is over.

Not every caterpillar
wants to become a moth or a butterfly.
Not every snowflake or drop of rain
wants to fall from the sky.
Not every petal of every flower
wants to tilt its face towards the sun.
Not every second of every day
wants to die the second it's begun.

He picked the flowers
Stem by stem
Put them in a jar
And gave her them

She picked the petals
Piece by piece
"Will he hurt me or will he leave?"

She took the chance of
"One more try"
Now she waits
To love or to die

You were a petal of a rose
That settled on my palm
And I blew you away.

-- Eleanor
you make me
take my toys out of the box
share them with children I don't like
finish a jar of marmite  wipe my mouth and say thank you
smile at horror films
touch snakes with my bare hands and eyes open
put salt in my coffee
speak with my mouth shut
you charge for every kiss a thousand Chinese burns

love is the pile of thorns surrounding a petal
what is love to you?

Whenever I picked a flower,
I've always thought of you.
I removed a petal and chant
He loves me,
And so until the last petal
It always ends up with,
He loves me not.
André Morrison May 2015
Let me undress your sanity
Make your mind bare, one petal at a time
Holding the pieces of your broken judgement
One more move and its checkmate
Washing the rights off your being
I am your God, I write your fate
Read your thoughts through your eyes
Put you in a sense of illusion
Make you define delusion
Im back! Bit Rusty though:3

gaze into me not with the eyes that fortress
a lie, just like the glint of dew that conceals
the tinge of dark in a dying petal;

gaze into me with the heart that bares
every faltering breath, just like the bud that bursts
into a flower in the silence of dawn.

there is no other choice, as long
as we long for an everbloom
of love.

she stuck out
like crimson petals
in the snow
but continued
to dance
as the wind
blew
