Pearl white floral treat
entwined in the vines of hair
sundress draped a frame petite
skin so smooth and fair

Calm oceans happily gaze
glass of wine we share
tropical blue I'll sail for days
lost in the waves serene care

Lift the glass to those lush lips
we'll share some little laughs
for the first time this seedy ship
doesn't mind posing photographs

Beacon of moonlight
how you so guide
a lost star back to night
where it will find its stride

My enchanting little carnation
oh how you so complete
this lost dull constellation
giving meaning to its heartbeat

the clicking of the keys
spells out
the beat of the heart
sorry for the earlier typos y'all

Pause
One beat
Two beats
Three beats
Four

I’m empty
I’m bleeding
I’m carnal
I’m sore

Five beats
Six beats
Seven beats
Eight

My sins
Can’t win
But I’m already late
Sometimes I wish I could just put all of my feelings on pause.

I do not need alcohol to have
fun.
I do not need cigarettes to be
cool.
I do not need dope to be
creative.
I need to feel you in my
veins.
I need to breathe you in with every
heartbeat.
And even if you’re just a high,
I want to never come
down.
I do need you.

My heartbeat's gone all wrong
A stuttering flutter of rhythmic butter
Something this *****'s been slipping on
And what is the tempo marking, dear?
Quarter note equals freakin’ infinity
It's come to my attention, I fear
I never breathed a note this long

Poetry is found in the incoherent thoughts.
like a needle jumping across boundaries (grooves)
a wave pattern, synonymous with the beat of my heart.

Take a stroll with me
Lets walk on the decrepit road
beside a dulcet rivulet
Asleep from the susurrus of the stream

I fall into step beside you
Ask you to hold my hand
And let me listen to the susurrus of your heartbeat
Just the same

I held scissors between my hands yesterday's night,
I cut a heart out of cardboard,
gave it a shower,
tucked it to bed,
sang to it a couple beats
and buried it in my chest.

Heartbeat reborn out of fear. Heavy thump in my chest like a lead metronome. Keeping time to your footsteps as you walk out the door. I would rather die than watch you leave. Yet here I am, staring at you, frozen in fear. My coffin lined mouth shrill, asking you to not go.

i feel my heartbeat in my head
i try to think logically
but my heart tells me what's meant to be
and i can't change a single thing
i feel my heartbeat in my head
i can only hear my heartbeat in my head
