Beautiful Bounty, that was her name
The vessel to take us to stake our new claim
Her cabins were sleek
A strong wooden frame
We set to the seas
Fortune awaits

Beautiful Bounty, now gone astray
Great blue skies
Now faded gray
weak lumber and hunger cause great dismay

Beautiful Bounty, sunk deep in the sea
Eighty-eight souls nevermore to be
No fame nor riches did they ever witness

Beauty Bounty, that was her name
A watery grave
The last thing she gave

The chaotic waverings of the unstill surface leave the depths of the seas undisturbed...
Stephen Rutledge May 2017
That fathomless chasm,

How sheer those depths,
What misery to await,

To succumb this world to silence,
Beneath thy voice resounds,

Entranced to follow,
A foregone echo,
From times,
All lost to long ago,

Into that eerie gloom;
I am swallowed,

How that sweet whisper of thee abruptly cease,
As depths's end is reached,

And to be alone again,
Where even no shadow choose to dwell,
Trapped,
Thy darkness my cell.

As we fell,
Into those depths I proceed to dwell,

The devil emerges from your delicate shell,

Only to maliciously tell,
This world to endure would become my hell.

To the depths I went
Always brand in fist
To find what made these paths
I thought I freely trod

What illusions waited there
To upturn the ship of tranquillity
What machine within worked
To hide the shadows
What lies came in dreams
To veil the truth

And the soul’s guardian, to protect me
Stayed loyal to false master
When it should to my ambition alone cleave
And my song venerate

An ocean lays at my heart
It is still or stormy
Of its own wild freedom
But now I can sail it
For I am bound
To the friends of true depth
Who understand what I truly am

The illusions in me, games of the mind
Shocked for years, shaken in fear
Of harsh words, of the street, of night
The evidence now piles against it.
I have earned my honours
In the heart of the woods
And was always of bliss
And was always of bliss
Gentleness is I, peace is I
Merriness is I, truthseeker am I.

It feels like I'm drowning in black tar
Moving against so much resistance
You won't let go, pulling me down
Deeper into the depths of my soul

Trying to **** in air but I can't breath
Lungs of lead and heart of hurt

It's only as I look deep down that
A reflection of loneliness peers back
The image seared unto my mind up until forever and which shall never leave

That I realise it is not your hand that grasps me, but me that is clinging to you
I unclench, secret scream, silenced shriek
A single tear sinks, and all is quiet

We brave uncharted waters
on boat with crumpled sails
We float where it is hotter
but that's another tale

We lose ourselves on purpose
in storms and surging waves
We dwell upon the surface
but it's the depths we crave
Lady Bird Feb 2017
there was no way to escape
the strangling rising waters
now penetrating its hollow core
attacking from the depths of
an endless source of bubbles
sinking its last hungry breath
to the bottom sandy sea floor
this skeleton corpse lost
the little soul it had left

Come, let me help you glide buddy,
Glide with your the golden wings,
Do not hesitate to jump off the cliff,
Down into the unknown depths,
Along with these blowing breezes,
Now unhook all the inhibitions,
Just jump off and glide in the sky.

"Monstrous men perceive monstrosities the monsters they seem to be."

Open this chest of mine
With this steel key of yours
Reveal my essence - it shines,
Look through my opened surface.
What you perceive as I am, is what defines
You.
The depths of mine
Which you think you have in your sight,
Is just a conjecture of your petty wit,
Representing your own shallow depths.

The secrets within me,
Are not understandable.
No matter how exposed
They become to the world.
