The opposite of war isn't peace.
It's creation.
So take this time of isolation
To make something that inspires
A generation.
A poem. A movie. A song.
Something that reminds us
That even though we feel alone,
We belong.

Don’t belong here
I try to escape
in the words
and hide from
the world.
where will I feel like home?

We wander
through the sleeping town,
through its glory and its misery

The night is ours
and only she knows
the words of passion
that spill from our mouths

What a beautiful feeling
knowing that neither the moon
nor the stars
are going to tell on us

Because we belong in the night
and she belongs to us.

Like snow on the rails
Trampled leaves on the grounded trees
Fleeing light
Familiar scent well known
And the lasting stars you cannot always see
But are still there
The wait is having
My heart a quiet rustle in the summer breeze
Just go and live
Be it amongst noise or fog
As you hold not a single familiar scent or sound
Over me
You are winters cold
And your crackling quiet frustrates me
Just go
Please
Yup - My own well practiced consistencies are not always kind to others.

will your heart belong to me..
or shall I always long for it?

will fate push us together-
as some predestined prophecy-
or will it repulse us far apart-
as some gruesome curse from nature?

will you leave like a blade caught in the wind,
or will you stay planted like a root in my love?

will you look me in the eye and say those three words-
holding me close so I hear your heart and smell your hair-
or will you turn and hide your beautiful eyes from mine?

will you stay for me..
or will you leave for you..?
I don't think I could fathom the feeling of being left once again.

Born for greatness
Got stuck in this gutter full of madness!
He was all that you call life
Then the conditions and circumstances we put him in
He turned out immoral and vile!

Now in the pursuit of paper
Thinks he's after happiness.
Forgot how black his heart turned over
Even after saying never
Never will I become like them but just better.

Better he was
Born for greatness
Little did he realise
He was really good with violence!

It was'nt just about the money
He said.
Its about proving they're wrong
With his crooked smile
Never did he realize
He has become a part of something
That he never wanted to belong!

I am in a place where I don’t belong
I tried to get out but couldn’t break the cage
Am I too weak or is the cage too strong
Why can’t I be free like the birds in the sky.

I am in a place where I don’t belong
I tried to swim for my freedom but couldn’t break the glass.
Am I too weak or is the glass too strong
Why can’t I be free like the fishes in the ocean.

You belong to the credit card statements on your coffee table
to your bosses emails at 7pm
to plans you can't cancel
to conversations that just don't end

You belong to morning commutes
to browsing produce same time every Tuesday
to the caffeine fix it you missed
to sad days you want to escape

You belong to everything
but you
Belonging

This brokenness inside would be kindling for fire,
that tiny spark that lit it all would come from our chains;
True companionship was something I strongly desired,
But vulnerability I thought it needed to be contained;

I learned to be uncomfortable, to truly perspire,
To share in what I thought was vain;

If I had known what I would've acquired,
My secrets I would've never retained;

Now I’d found a place to retire,
A feeling I can’t explain,
I'd found a place where love was the occupier,
somewhere I could remain.
