Love Trance
Heather Booth Nov 2014
The twists and turns
Of the never ending
Love Trance.
A winding path
Snaking this way than that.
Lost and confused
I follow the path I choose.
Where it will lead me
Nobody knows.
It is left to fate
To decide where it goes.
I wish I knew what happened to you.
Cause after everything we have been through
I still search for you.
A path that will lead me back to your heart.
Where I could stay,
Till the sun set,
And the world was dark.
For all we know,
There is a way.
A way we can fix this.
Repair what has been un-done.
But I cannot find the solution.
The problem remains,
Without resolution.
There is no light at the end of this tunnel,
But I guess that’s how it goes in this never-ending play.
Cause that’s all this is at the end of the day.
An unfortunate series of events,
Formally addressed as,
The Love Trance.

Drowning
Heather Booth Nov 2014
I am drowning in your river of lies.
The tall tales you spun to trap me like a fly.
I followed you to my own demise,
and yet still, I can't open my eyes
to the reality so plain and true
that I am simply nothing to you.
Something to float on in this ocean of confusion,
but not to be taken to the safety of the shore.
You brought me to a safe place,
only to release me to the vastness
of the river you made for me,
to drowned me in,
*rather then set me free.

Concealed Love
Heather Booth Aug 2014
The truth be told
I love you.
The truth revealed
I do.
The problem is
We are best friends
So this, could never work.
Your heart belongs to another.
While mine remains unclaimed.
I wish you could see
What I conceal from you
Cause some part of me wonders...
Would you feel it too?
This pull we have to each other
That started something so great.
A powerful bond,
Tight and strong.
So is it ok,
If I dare say,
Is it possible we could be so much more?

Songs are Books
Heather Booth Jun 2014
Songs are books;
They share a story that is meaningful,
and personal,
etched into the lyrics themselves.
They tell of disaster and triumph,
loss and love,
happiness and sorrow,
often rolled into one.
Although the meaning
may be hidden just out of sight,
with a little time and effort
the plot will become easier to pinpoint.
Cause if you listen to the words
behind that melody,
you will find the hidden meaning,
the plot of this songs
story.

The Storm is Over
Heather Booth Jun 2014
Gold dipped rays,
Seep through the clouds,
As this stormy day,
Draws to a close.
No need to cower,
The storm is over.

The Daffodil
Heather Booth Jun 2014
The daffodils;
Pristine yellow
With a soft white hue.
A cup for the fairies
Evening tea for two.
Dancing in the peaceful breeze
In a synchronized tango with
The deciduous trees.

The Endless Wait
Heather Booth Jun 2014
I am engulfed by this darkest black,
Waiting for you as I always do.
You will come I’m sure of it
You said you loved me,
This can’t be it.
This story is far from done
I will see this through until I am with you.
I lay on the bed where we spent so much time,
Laughing and giggling,
Cuddling and kissing.
And while I wait I smile and stare
Sneaking over glances,
Filled with hope ,
That I will see you standing there.
See you walk through the door,
To embrace me once more.
But still I wait, and wait I do
But you never come, never walk through
The door I left open just a crack,
To let the light in, dispel this darkest black.

Isn't it Astounding
Heather Booth Jun 2014
But here is the bit that truly astounds us all,
She took a fall,
But she got back up
And was able to stand tall.
And now you see her,
Happy and laughing,
But not with you.
And that's when you realize you had a good thing,
You had something true,
But you let that all go,
And now you know,
But it's far too late.
Because this beautiful girl who stood by your side,
Is taken by someone who actually treats her right.

Left for Dead
Heather Booth Jun 2014
You led her on,
Made her believe that you loved her,
Made her believe you cared,
Made her trust you and open that door she had closed so tight.
She let you in,
And you let her down.
She fell for you hard,
You said you would catch her,
So why did she hit the ground?
She believed in you,
When no one else had,
And this is how you repay her?
This is so sad...
You led her here,
With words of love
And acts of romance,
Just to leave her there,
Her heart torn in two,
To fend for herself,
And find someone new.

Them
Heather Booth Jun 2014
Their glance,
Their touch,
Their laugh,
Their cry,
Their embrace,
Their beauty,
Their personality,
Their smile.
Everything about them is so perfect,
So true.
Now if only they would realize,
they are meant to be with you.

Acception
Heather Booth Jun 2014
Here I am
on the edge between
happiness and sadness
once more.
How did I get here?
How did I become so lost,
so alone...
Why am I here?
Why dont I belong?
acception is such a strange concept.
We believe in those we feel worthy,
and forget those we feel are not.
Why cant we accept that each
And every person is great
and unique and amazing
in ther own special way
they create individually.
I would do a lot
to make sure
people dont end up
where I am right now.

The Real Deal
Heather Booth Jun 2014
Why are there good things?
Why are there blessings?
And weddings?
And love?
Why is there a natural beauty that surrounds us?
In the trees,
And the sky.
In the little birds twittering in the mornings,
And the sorrowful wolves crying in the dusk.
Why are there families?
And holidays?
And friends?
Why are there walks to be taken?
And cakes to be making,
And songs to be written
And times to be smitten?
We are known as humans to dwell on the bad
But take a look around,
Life isn’t that sad.
Open your eyes to the possibilities,
Open your heart and you too will see,
The beauty hidden just out of sight.
It takes a special someone to be able to reveal,
The secrets in life that are the real deal.

A Friend
Heather Booth Jun 2014
The loyal support we address as a ‘friend’.
There for you when you feel like breaking,
When the tears are overwhelming,
And the sadness unforgiving.
They will stand by your side through sun, sleet and snow.
And when you need them most they will be your pillow.
Cushioning your fall when you drop from great heights.
Comforting and faithful,
Never failing to make you smile.
Cause at every wrong turn,
There will always be a friend.
Someone unlike any other,
That stands alone above all the others.
Be thankful for their friendship,
Be thankful for their love.
Be thankful that even though you may be weak they remain strong,
To pull you to safety when life feels just, wrong.

Untitled
Heather Booth Jun 2014
I don’t understand,
And yet I do.
The clover is considered lucky,
I guess I need one to help me through,
I am blue and that is sad,
But the sky is blue is the sky sad?
I wear my raincoat to avoid the water,
And yet I cleanse my sorrows in a the wet embrace of a shower,
They wash away and run down the drain,
*A small weight off my back so I don’t waste away.
I just started experimenting with poetry and would love to know what other people think of my work. :)
