"shiva" poems
nights take passion forth into an abyss of hundreds of arms swirling under the weight of bodies yearning to connect your destruction came in moments, you fell beneath them and growled, you were the rabid beast hiding in my closet or behind my bathroom door waiting to spring, and you and i, we fell for each other like children, we fumble in the dark like teenagers, we talk through every movement like we've known this dance for years, years, years; my hands, they're too small to spread over your heart like i want them to. your hands, far too big to cradle my face between them like you meant them to. we make it work in the darkest of ways, the black hole in the floor of our bedroom opening up to swallow us whole.

lord shiva and kali ma make love beneath the stars
were we looking for the feminine of our soft hands no questioning the nature of daylight is wonder, we feel it in our touch we know the ancient art of cartography: love memory death quivers deltas of tears we taste the starvation of breath the magnitude of gratitude we kept the drum of hearts alight to catch the waves of time Anna's drum summoned Shiva, the master of shiver the god of blood carrying sage scent in our hair forgotten paths in our shapes pink lotus flowers in our wombs bold desires in our feet tales of flames in each scar we recognise each other greet with a soul reverence across time across space we forgive ouselves our betrayals violations of a feminine truth we wait for the men we love we set ourselves free from the spinning wheel of pain we receive we keep what is alive what is dead still not born in refused bodies: the possibility of kindness we are women we are dancers we sing fiercely, gently from the chest of the moon

Oh1 Durga, the symbolic victory Over the worldly evil You can **** any devil And you are the most benign As you are divine Shiva (goodness) is your inseparable half Mahishasura’s ( Man’s evil) death Is your valour’s proof Goodness and valour are made For each other It is paradoxical that Man stands for goodness And woman for valour But it is true in divine parlour Hindus believe in Durga’s divine force Even others can not deny the cosmic source Even the staunchest atheist Can not deny the women’s collective fist

The Face of Lord Shiva
apno se jada gairon ki yaad aati hai, jab jindagi kisi gair ki mohtaaj ** jaati hai, dil ka haal samajhne vala koi nahi hota, aur jindagi hai k bas ek chidiya ki tarah ud jati hai, dll me yaad basi rah jaati hai, mashaal jalti hui achanak bujh jati hai, aankhon k saamne base andhera hi andhera dikhta hai, har roshni bhi feeki pad jati hai, jab jindagi kisi gair ki mohtaaj ** jati hai.... wajah bewajah hi dard uthta rhta hai, aankhon ka mom har waqt pighalta rahta hai, aansoo b rasta aona badal lete hai, dil me tadap k shiva aur kuj nahi bachta hai, har khwahish dafan ** jati hai, chahat bas khud ko khatam karne ki rah jati hai, jab jindagi kisi gair ki mohtaaj ** jati hai..... shahar logon se bhara hokar bhi veeran lagta hai, din nikalte hi dhalne lag jata hai, bewajah koi insaan shaitan lagne lagta hai, khud ki ek saan bhi bejaan lagne lagti hai, bejaan aawaj, rookhe shabd, pathrayi aankhen, aur aansuon ki sookhi dhara shrajal ** uthti hai, jab jindagi kisi gair ki mohtaaj ** jati hai..... yun to har waqt khyal dil me rhta hai k vo mera hai, tabhi koi khta hai k vo nahi bas bhram tera hai, aur kitna pyar me barbaad ** jaun, khatam ** jaun ya tujhme hi mar jaun, aasan nahi koi jirah rah jati hai, har gali kooche se bas unk nikalne ki aas rahti hai, vo mere nahi har taraf bas ek hi aawaj goonjti hai, din khatam raat shuru, roshni gayi andhera shuru, sath khatam tanhayi shuru, bas yahi tadpan har ghadi rah jati hai, vo meri nahi kisi aur ki ** jati hai, jindagi kisi gair ki mohtaaj ** jati hai....

A wild man is not a boyfriend, he is a force. Can you love me in the blinding heat of a birthing star, when I shower warmth on distant moons? Can you love me in the hole of the cosmic Black, where no one can reach me? Not even you? Can you love me then too? Can you love me when I drag buffalo skulls through the dirt for days, to the rhythm of an ancient drum? Will you love me if my beard hides the scars in my heart, from battles I cannot explain? WIll you love me when I lack courage, when I am defeated, when I won’t let you patch my wounds? WIll you trust me when I smell of sweetgrass and sage, and when I stink of whiskey and sweat? When I drink from the cup and play in astral light, will you anchor me to Home? What happens when my words don’t work, and I can speak with only my eyes? Can you love me enough to let me go, without asking me where I’ll be? I am no poodle to lay groomed on a leash at your feet. I am the wolf that fetches the bones of truth. A wild man is not a boyfriend. He’s not built for animal husbandry. He is a force. He is a cause for an effect. He is a mission. Are you afraid to let me inside you? Not just my flesh, but my soul. The wild man is neither burglar or vandal. I will not take anything from you. I will not trample on sprouting seeds or pick flowers as a trophy. I am the sun on flooded fields and the fire for tangled webs. Don’t be scared, lover, mother, maiden, crone. Take me as I am. Even if I have the power to destroy worlds, I will not destroy you. A wild man is a protector. A father. A warrior for all that is good. When the chaos seeks to obliterate you, sheering your flesh from bone, I will hold all the pieces together in love, until you are ready to reassemble. When your seas boil, and your winds throw cars at corn fields, I will wait patiently for you to catch my eye, so that both of us can laugh. When Hell opens up the fiery gates, and sends all the cosmos against you… I plant my heels deep in the ground. I lay my shield low. My sword is sharp then, my love. The steel sings sweetly. With a smile, Hoka Hey! My last breath a farewell kiss. Today is a good day to die. For ours is the oldest love affair. The greatest story ever told. Cupid and Psyche, Shiva and Shakti, You and I. Same same but different. Would we have it any other way? A wild man is not a boyfriend. He is a force.

I like playing with words Sometimes drinking coffee I imagine I'm a ballerina drawing swords To make my mind flee - I need no drugs But the little man in my coffee cup shrugs, He whispers 'try some sativa' I am stubborn I pick him by his toes And feed him to the bugs 'Viva! The independent mind!' Says Shiva! I'm now a samurai... doing ballet moves.

Third eye
How many deaths in the life of a plant? This is Lord Shiva; This is His dance. How much space in the life of a form? This is Kali, She the unborn. Together they sway, forward in back; Shiva the Fire, Kali the Black. As Lovers they **** put to Sleep, and Destroy, With Grace and Love, Compassion and Joy.

Shiva and Kali
Peeling Oranges We sat on the floor as you began, and you told me how she showed you the way to skin the sun in one single swoop. But the burn you learned by yourself. It happened when you were finished, at the moment you pressed the peels to bitten lips, during the time you smelt the layers stuck to your skin. The sticky sweetness was enough. You explained why before speaking of Shiva, and Ganesha and someone else I cannot remember, but I do recall how you didn’t like it when I stepped over your legs. Once you asked, I would step back over, so you could grow tall and lean, but – now – I don’t know what you look like, whether you grew or peeled or warned others of the burn. I’m only left with my steps, and my inability to peel has not changed. But I do know – now – how you shouldn’t have had to ask me to step back over, because I never had to ask you. You always peeled two oranges at the same time, just so I didn’t have to burn. For that reason, I know how you grew far above me, even back then, tall and lean.

sweet Kali stands before us an offering she holds while all the skulls around her neck sleep in a child's repose there are many souls in limbo they wander through our sight seekers for salvation seeking for the light a universe lies waiting a red planet full of stars just beneath the lingham that rests in Kali's arms the dogs lie waiting patiently while Ganesh begins to writhe turning to a serpent that writhes before our eyes here's the minotaur from Jambu Dweep wrapped in a golden fleece telling stories in my head the tales of ancient Greece then Kali holds a severed head cradled gently in her hand while beneath the Shiva Lingham someone lies upon the sand.....

Shiva
I believe in a universe where a sleepy eye opens existence... a slowly drooping eyelid ushers it away. I believe in a universe where Indra and the other Gods churn the cosmic milk... where Shiva does the eternal dance. I believe in a universe where light is separate from darkness and mankind is molded from a ball of divine **** a breath, Be and it is. I believe in a universe where Gaia watches as Cronus devours her children until she gives him a stone... and hides Zeus away. I believe in a universe that expands from a singularity of infinitely dense potentiality less than a speck, to our cosmos immeasurable in scale. I believe in a universe where Lao Tuz hands a guard a little book of wisdom before disappearing into the mountains where the sages go. I believe in a universe where Siddhartha contemplates emptiness and feels the winds of eternity whistling through his soul. I believe in a universe where E=Mc2. I believe in a universe where an old man lights the first holy fire and describes the war between light and goodness vs darkness and evil. I believe in a universe where the earth and moon, and all the planets go round the sun... in a galaxy carrying us dancing a waltz we can only catch glimpses of. I believe in a universe where "Know Thyself" is revered as a deep truth. I believe in a universe where an unexamined life is not worth living. I believe in a universe where the words of a carpenter are a true path. I believe in a universe where an illiterate man is commanded Read!... a burning coal upon the lips. I believe in a universe where every God and Goddess exist, each in their own heaven... each in their own hell. I believe in a universe where there are no gods or goddesses only the relentless laws of matter, energy and gravity. I believe in a universe where everything is mathematics. I believe in a universe where everything is holy I believe in a universe where everything in profane. I believe in a universe where everything is a simulation. I believe in a universe where everything is ****** in nature. I believe in a universe where everything is stimulation. I believe in a universe where the hoochie ******* is what its all about. I believe in the universe.

I Believe
An eagle flies high, beyond the mind's sky, above the purple dawn over the Himalayan snow white  it flies, soaring above the trident peak, where Shiva with Shakti dance to be one with the essence of all, in resonance with the cosmos.

The flight beyond *"Chidakasha"
A bell tolls Friends join in to walk With me to the end of the path Carrying on heavy shoulders, All that last journey, and All that was not said And all that silences Which will echo forever in our hearts. Some where Silence waits for the desert spaces To speak up And break our lives Into small grains of sand Which pours within the Hour Glass Of our togetherness Some where - a blast-off to distant stars In the cloud of dust In the drum beats of Shiva's Tandav* dance. Some where, Love alone Worships the intensity of the togetherness Or Truthfulness of belongingness. Or Remains A mute spectator to the Tandav* of emotions Silence some time does sound In, Our lives And A bell tolls forever Calling in lost soul Or soul mates To be in the valley of lost flower stars. _____________________________ Tandav is the eternal dance of Lord Shiva, a dance of destruction as well as creation...

AND THE BELL TOLLS FOREVER
When Gods tried to churn ocean For nectar with Meru mountain Firstly it was poison which came Because of its severity all life forms Where in great threat All Gods prayed him He decided to take the poison And save the world Which eventually made his neck Blue in color So we call him Neelakanta He has a third eye So we call him Trinetra He is the destructor of Evil He wanders in Cementary To pacify and soothe the spirits By doing Shiva Tandavanam (dance performed by shiva) And saved us from those spirits Shiva is his name Chanting his name can save you From any hazardous situation

A bedspread on which bold, red and blue esoteric, Tantric, motifs embrace copulating triangles, the ideogram of cosmos batik printed in vermilion on it's center is spread, right there on the play-field of cupid where the confluence is to happen, a transmitting point of fecund energies to infinity, a point on the spring board to transcendence Beloved, here in the holy fire, receive in ecstasy, the sacrificial offering I bring from the incessant Ganga of my lineage, Shakti and Shiva come in for divine union, together here on the mark beyond time and space. right in the center is "THE BINDU" the mystical point both culmination and beginning of the 'beyond' passage from here  to timelessness of cosmos, we invoke. Here Shakti is holy fire leaping up for Shiva's offering, sublimated they fuse, may that be the seed for karmas lumenant.

The passage to infinity
Sometimes I imagine what it would be like to sleep in a bed with no sheets in the corner of an empty airline hanger.     Eating ***** is oblivion to millions, regardless of politics.     I don't cry when I watch the evening news.     Pictures from my 4th birthday party, when I turned 3, make me cry...     ...for 1 spermatozoa.     When my co-creators' closed eyelids told me my grandfather had finally passed, I remembered that I forgot how to make Mac & Cheese.     Time runs on batteries.     But when machines grow to match us, they will one day pass a law against the consumption of sentient planets.     Still, some will do it anyway.     And even if they have televisions in space, I still won't cry.     Because we are all machines.
