With the memory of sweet honey comb in mouth and the sting of nettles on my fingertips,
I am coming home to myself.
It is easy to forget where my heart lies;
silencing it when it calls out from my chest or giving it over to someone with careless hands.
I was once a child whose heart spoke in a language only I and nature could understand
so I sit here, struggling to remember my native tongue;
my hands still stinging, my teeth still stained with the sweetness
and a heart that is saying "welcome home"

The poem formerly known as 'First taste of bitter' has been rewritten to reflect the lovely people who inhabit this etheral poetic wonderland that is home to many and a refuge to many - inspired by HP's own Elsa
- thank you Elsa  :))

My first taste of HP

I was welcomed right away
Day one I had three friends
Peter Hamilton, Cecil and Ana
Is where my HP journey began

From another site I'd arrived
Not seeking fortunes or fame
Just a place to share poems
With people who feel the same

I've always been so welcome here
~ always made to feel at home
Thats down to the friendly poets
Who you all are, you know.

So many, many friendly souls
My, how that list has grown
Thank you HP - I glad I came...
I no longer feel alone

Special thank also to - Poetessa Diabolica, Niamh, Coleen, Shanna, Wolf, Brandon, Evie, ridicule, Beryl Dov, Donna and Sleeping Bag. Much love to everyone who knows me. X

Some readers will find that they have already liked this although they havent even read this (revised poem) - DONT PANIC! - as The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy would say. It appears that I have done something naughty by renaming and rewriting a poem that was previously read and rated. Thank you all. :)

in the polluted streets
i can finally breathe

in the unsafe streets

the filthy streets
and extreme heat

// its so good to be back where i belong //

Welcome to the lives that we once left behind.
Bask in our self-hatred and misery.
God knows, no-one else will.
We won't.

Somewhere faraway is a girl who was once me.
She'll smile and she'll laugh
Because she doesn't know what is to come,
She doesn't know she will be me.

Innocence became pain,
Love became hate,
And life was insignificant.
Our hope was

Flattened out until the edge of doom.
And we followed this doom.
Up,
Down,
Left,
Right,
We followed.

No more does beauty linger here-
It is lost.
Just like everything else,
Just like us.

Morning voice whispers:
Stillness and silence bring and guide the soul from the darkness into the door of light, bring hopes, bring tears of happiness, and dancing into the new breath of life, rebirth and producing "healthy baby"...  And known that I'm loved I'm being blessed.

Poetry replies:
All welcome... As the dews in the morning shimmering the rays of love to the world... All welcome... As the morning air cleanses the past burdens... Purifies the bloodstream of mind and heart to the point (of no return) where freedom exhilarates life; envisions the paths for greater humanity and God's glory... All welcome...

You're back...
You have returned and I am relieved.
This family welcomes you with open arms.
I sense the same feelings that I have, within you.
You resent the hugs, the acts of love, and I know that it is for similar reasons.
(But it is in fact nothing serious!)
You offer open arms to me and I accept your embrace, with pleasure.
I missed you.
Sometimes I hate how I can see parts of you in myself, but then I remember what a beautiful person you are and I am okay.
You are a beautiful person and I am okay.
I admire you and I am okay.
*I missed you.

When I was alone, You welcomed me
When I was depressed, You welcomed me
When I had given up, You welcomed me
Truly and sincerely life has brought me down
But you welcomed me, kept me safe and sane
And if you ever feel that way
I will welcome you just the same

(Every summer)
You can expect bits pieces of my heart to connect together,
(Every summer)
I wanna see you with a sparkling yellow dress, in the time of this perfect weather,
(Every summer)
Kisses will all be unexpected , shadows on glowing rivers,
(Every summer)
Cosmos in a nacho full of cheese , it couldn't get more clearer,

I would love your arms around me,
And round they go,
I can feel every piece of matter,
Crooked teeth,
I'll never let mine or your features go,
You love me for me,
And every summer I will save a spot for you and me.
