A picture perfect serenity
of waves crashing at the shore.
The reflections of stars so bright
giving a new lease of light (life).
You see the wonder of the world lay out in front of you;
how I wish I could see the world through your eyes, even if just for tonight?

We are nothing but marks in the sand
waiting to be washed away with the tide.
The black abys of nothingness the sea offers up,
tempting fate between life and death.
Do I dare to risk being washed away in wishful thinking?
Or, do I let the cripplingly cold waves take me under?

A picture perfect serenity
of waves washing troubles away.
The reflections of a million dreams illuminating the night
providing quintessential peace never experienced before.
You see life as if it were a painting unique to us all;
everyone sees the beauty, even if not always understood.

We all leave our marks across the sand,
basking in its never ending beautiful optimism.
The unknowing views of opportunity amiss,
the most sacred, forgotten hearts finding salvation.
Do we dare to try taking risks into the unknown, no-matter the price?
Or, do we hold onto what we know, always playing it safe?

what is the blurry
between the joy and the blues,
we are daffodils flying in the wind
one moment
butterflies falling in the rain
another?

Waves that cry love,

rage within me,

crashing violently against your shore.

You hold me firmly for a second or two

Then gently, through your fingers

Let me slip through.

You know,

I will come back to you.

The stars gather across the night sky,

To witness our love

As you and I form a rhythm,

Breath against breath,

Your chest against mine,

The music of our heart beats

Synchronize.

Reaching the depths of my dark soul,

You unravel me,

Stripping each layer,

Worship me.

Unhinged by the expectations of the world,

I’ve never felt so beautifully naked

In my own skin.

Grief comes in waves,
lingering at the shore of my mind
before ebbing back out to sea.

There are hours before the tide
rises again.
and for those brief moments,
I am free.

I am free of loss.
I am free of pain.
I am free of the emptiness.

And then i hear something,
or see something,
or do something,
and the memories of you
come rushing back.

It started with a hello and ends with too much love that does still overflow.
we drove around our city while I had my arm around him.
and the sticky august air glued his skin to his shirt and him to my heart.
our metropolis had a hundred dusty stars above us; beside us; but mostly these stars were within me.
he was unaware of it all. But I, with overflowing courage did tell him.
and when i told him,
I understood that this simple love
cocooning  me;
that glowed
like a hundred suns;
that made him the Sun;
was felt from me to him -
and me
to him
only.

We walk these shorelines
leaving nothing but footprints
that waves wash away.

Waves                             they                     happy
     call me.                          call                       when I
They crash                    out to                     see them
and laugh                      me, with                 dance. They
with the wind.                their beauty            beckon me
Beautiful and elegant      and shine. I am       towards them.
this is my first attempt at a concrete poem

Waves crash to the shore
Laughter echoes through warm sand
Children playing once again
Just  my morning poem

Bound for the void of nothingness a ship had once set sail
Embarked in peaceful doubts and willful ignorance
Merely lead by a play, both boisterous and frail
A play of waves, of storms, a dance!

Yet with time the sea's bounty became a teacher
Testifying the bleeding which is her love
It is still there she sails, a ship at open sea
As long as in the darkest night there'll be some stars above
