Staying up late each anxious night
Wishing you had not given in to heartache
The choice to split technically mine
It was one you forced me to make

You provided no better options
Back pressed against a disappearing wall
The thing keeping me upright through problems
Cracked skeleton hardly holding weight at all

I know I am weak, words paper-thin
Sit here stuck in the same position
Nothing to improve the frustrated state I'm in
My mind rummaging for proper recognition

Plans made are crumbling to dust
Flames dance around, we are running out of air
Hearts racing, to win we both think we must,
Wondering which is the tortoise and which the hare

Games we play but not enjoy
Again and again use my heart as a toy
Each endless night I lie awake
Staring at the ceiling retracing mistakes

Collapse like a deflated lung
Fated to gasp for more air
Throat hoarse from sad songs sung
Past pain shouting "Please beware!"

I found the same outcome too many times
In patterns we are destined to repeat
Yet I still walk identical lines
Straight into the familiar defeat
If you always do what you've always done you'll always get what you've always gotten
Engineer -
Building towers,
Building walls,
Building keeps,
Are you -
Reaching for the sky?
Trying to guard something in?
Trying to fortify?
Building towers to mimic flight,
Building walls to keep them out
Or keep something, someone, in
Building keeps to keep,
But to keep what?
I might ask,
Hamlet, what are you building
In that kingdom of yours?
What are you trying to achieve?

“Oh, I forgot about you”
There goes a brick.

“You don’t mind if we go without you, right?”
Thud, there’s another.

“Could you just shut up for a second?”
Another.

“I can’t be around you when you’re sad”
Another.

“What’s wrong with you? I have it worse”
And another.

“Honestly, I didn’t notice you were here”
The bricks stack nicely on one another.

“I’d rather hang out with someone else, sorry”
My hands are raw from building.

“You’re a friend, you’re just not a best friend, y’know?”
The wall is getting higher.

“...”
I can’t see anyone anymore.

This moment is fading for all.
Will your use of it stand or fall?
Time will tell,
But now is your chance
To look beyond time's moving wall.

I tell you
01001110-because there is no seeing with this wall between us,-01101111
so how can I show you?

I painted my wall
I covered them in parts
Until the white paint slowly disappeared
Lines of poems I wrote
Are staining my wall
Altered in their very meaning
Words that capture me
Over and over, again and again
They call it the mad wall
I call it creativity
A little describtion of the mess of words that I call my wall

Love was never as alluring
Until its gaze drew an emerald shade
And like arrows shots ensuring
From my memory they wouldn´t fade.

And from such a strike
There is no hope to defend
No bastion wall as sturdy
Or polished shield can hope deflect.

Yet your stare so piercing
Went through my flesh with  ease
My heart laid bare and empty
And now with hope its filled.

A quest I will make to find
Your green emerald eyes
My life maybe forfeit, yet I must try
For before your sight, I never felt so alive.
A short one tonight, but I like how it ended up, specially the first stanza, I´ve been reading Petrach lately and that man was a master, so I think in a way I tried to replicate him, not that I compare of course, but I wanted to give it a shot

There's a mirror, hanging on my wall.
It shows me images of what it sees.
There's no bias. No judgement.
All I see is the hideous monster I call me.
This one is rather short
