If harmony in your life is what you truly aspire
bonding of mind and body you must first acquire
when they have become joined, unified as one
know, only now, your journey have you begun

Removing yourself from materialistic desire
is a necessary condition that you will require
enhancing your ability to more easily find
this true wisdom embedded in your mind

Illuminate your way with this one light of truth
for the wisdom residing therein needs no proof
an internal voice proclaims its veracity above any other
your inner sanctum is impervious to any false cover

The heart is the battleground, a place where all is contained
where you find pain, ultimately you will find what is gained
no person can ever perceive, nor has he ever been shown
this place that awaits him, forever it must remain unknown

So too your heart, its real location is in your own mind
this true happiness we all seek, it need not be defined
only first we must truly begin to know how it is to be controlled
otherwise to be defeated by fear, and in need to be consoled

Fear for the most part, belongs to the forces of evil and is their tool
used for the purpose of confusing one’s wisdom, attempting to fool
while the forces of good have the power to enlighten, resuscitating the mind
strengthening those wishing to be saved, as well as giving sight to the blind

Yes good and evil will, necessarily, continually strive
if evil overcomes, it will be your soul that it will deprive
and when evil reaches that point beyond redemption
only its complete destruction will remove all contention

This reality, perhaps, is why as human beings we are truly bound as one
despite our differences, it is G-d’s will that evil must ultimately succumb
when this final day approaches, He will allow us to collectively deploy
united as one to execute G-d's command, and evil will we finally destroy
True happiness is what every heart seeks. Yet, where can it be found? Perhaps, in the way we choose to live our lives. Where there is love there is happiness. Where there is true happiness, only there can be found true love. Fear of change. Fear of changing ourselves for the better is what stops us from really finding this true happiness. The fear is, once embarked on this Journey, that there is no return.

Allow me but a moment, I wish to reflect
how your love for me has been only perfect
your grace is warm, your care is my concern
you've stolen my heart, your love I do yearn

If only for a moment, my love for you to take
if this happiness is a dream, that I not awake
you radiate an inner beauty, a blinding light
love I never knew, my heart tells me is right

If only for a moment, let me hold you close
my love awaits, to give you a double dose
let me be someone for you, too, to always hold
a man in whom to find comfort, a heart of gold

If only a moment, let me be a part of your life
a shared happiness, a union as man and wife
physical, mental, spiritual, till the end of time
a love to grow and become eternally sublime

In a single moment, you were created from me
once a hidden part of my body, G-d now let you be
my love is really a part of you, a way for you to see
only by sharing this love, can your happiness be free

Let us now enter this gate of love, never to return
our love to live a life of holiness, heaven to earn
a way for us to be complete, to fulfill life's mission
sharing love with one another, our only submission

Love: The Perfect Solution To Heal All Human Shortcomings

The A to Z of Choosing that Special One

Actions speak louder than words, some say
Belonging to that period of time, we call day
Considering their impact on others, we may
Develop that strategy, and keep negativity away

Endlessly searching for that special one
Frankly speaking, will that time ever come?
Going to convince yourself you've won
How to deal with failure, calling yourself dumb

Investigating a way for you to have fun
Jack of all trades, yet master of none
Keeping the truth from under the sun
Laughing at you, you turning numb

Managing those feelings of despair
No one knows of those cries you fear
Over and over you say that you care
Predictable enough, when you pull out your hair

Quickly running to gain that control
Relying on your friend, in whom you've trusted your soul
Standing there alone when all takes its toll
Then finding out, devastated, she's been that mole

Under that pillow, the one you once wished to share
Victory to those that you thought had a care
Willing no longer to ever bring near
Xenophobe is now that condition you bare

You've now learned one of many more lessons to come
Zealous in choosing that someone to call, "Special One"
How often have we placed our trust in those we believed to be our closest friends. Tragically, how many times have we been mistaken. Even worse, they are the ones having hurt us the most, when and how we least could have expected it. Only after do we recognize that we must reevaluate in whom to really place our trust.

My Principles Are Not For Sale!

This poem is dedicated to all those secret, righteous souls, the silent minority (and heaven alone knows who they are) who guide their principles of conduct, whenever their evil inclination challenges them, by the credo "G-d is watching." They do what is right, unimpressed with what "everybody else does." They readily hold their lip, and bow their head to maintain this "peace" in G-d's world. To them, know, this is their holy sacrifice--a sacrifice to G-d, on his very Alter (our world).

Surviving adversity, it is really against the odds
that you'll still stay normal with your full deck of cards
Like many a cause that you know have a price
where principle is concerned, you're ready to sacrifice

There is right and there is wrong, you don't need to belong
your principles are just, they have made you headstrong
No rhyme and no reason can sway you from this cause
because you've pondered its justice and have found no flaws

Shouts of anger and negativity galore
you are now tasting just what is in store
What words could you offer to those limited in thought
when all is finished, would it be your wisdom they sought?

Words of the heart enter the heart, when all else fails
it's not a bad place to be, when addressing another's ails
To overcome adversity there is not always one solution
but it can never be found in starting a revolution

In final sum, it seems like the rule of thumb
better to negotiate that peace and then some
For the alternatives are all to clear
why perpetuate hatred and fear
so put aside your differences
and find a world wishing to care
This short poem is dedicated to all of you "Survivors", with love!

It started out as any other day, none could ever know
the lesson I would soon receive, or where it would flow
a day fishing in a nearby pond, with my rod to throw
not long thereafter, I was staring at a fish now in tow

As I reeled it in, this fish was so small and docile
I failed to consider my actions, it was just so fragile
pulling it out of the water, flying smack into a nearby wall it went
my catch was now dying, my conscience feeling a little torment

Carefully taking it off my hook, I threw it back in the water
feeling guilty, as if having just committed a major slaughter
I was seriously focused on this dying fish, asking myself why me
only soon to realize this was a lesson, perhaps a heavenly decree

Taking its last breath in the water, the fish then began to flow beyond
slowly heading toward the wall, where water was spilling out of this pond
coming to the edge of the pond, a small wave threw this fish over the wall
watching what was going on intently, down the wall it did now fall

One peek over that wall, and I could now clearly see
a whole bunch of large branches near this one big tree
amazingly this one long branch seemed to begin moving
And as I saw this snake advance, my perception was improving

Spellbound, watching this snake attack, his mouth opened wide
before me it devoured its food, knowing now why this fish had died
although accursed this snake may be, His creature G-d would not forsake
unknown until now, with my actions fulfilling His will, did I now partake

"G-d opens His hand and satisfies the needs of each and every creature"
my prayer every day, declaring G-d's abundant kindness His known feature
no accidents exist in this world, plan and purpose are really visible to all
let us first incline our hearts to look, and we too may hear this heavenly call
There Are No Accidents in G-d's World!
This is a true story, set out in poetic rhyme. It is a lesson worthy of sharing. How our actions are sometimes guided for the better. Although at first glance, this cannot always be readily perceived.

I have a story to tell, a story that really happened quite a long time ago
forcing upon me painful memories, and a place my mind wishes not to go
although young, these teenagers were to learn about love for the first time
despite the threats on the part of their parents, who considered this a crime

How creative one’s mind becomes, when love begins playing her songs
imagination finds the setting, filling your heart with a love that belongs
the more anyone attempts to prevent, this love strengthens as a lion on call
a love so infused with sincere courage, none could ever succeed to forestall

How this fountain of youth, young enough to satiate that thirst from within
but only until old age arrives, then those lights of love will be forced to dim
while young time stops, as emotions are fully charged, dreams burn like fire
feelings of love, so real to mind and body, are engulfed in passionate desire

So as time crept on, these loving souls did part, a time of sadness did they share
thinking never again to experience that bond of love, as their hearts went bare
gone was the love and the experience it brought out, a happiness if however short
learning this painful truth, sadly, even true love we are sometimes forced to abort

Greater than love is the will and resolve, to experience a happiness and yet to let go
this is only a part of life's many challenges, strengthening us and allowing us to grow
despite the heartbreaks we often seem to endure, G-d affords us the stamina to persevere
so when your true soul mate will cross your path, you will undoubtedly find a love so clear

Life is full of trials and tribulations, and our happiness sometimes seems like a juggling act
yet we must know, our destined one G-d will surely never withhold from us, this is a fact
so when love that was not to be comes upon you, remember that the Almighty has His way
His Love for us is paramount of all, and true happiness will you yet find at the end of the day
Love: Life's Longest Roller Coaster!
This is a short poem about a love that never was
Joshua Adam Jul 2015
You were born, and like it or not, you're going to die
don't claim to be human, if you lack the capacity to cry
by wasting time, this precious of commodities goes lost
only as life comes to an end, you understanding its cost

A poem with a vision, control the fear, make a decision
when surrounded by doubt, you anticipate the collision
by coming face to face, you're forced into a confrontation
always finding yourself rushed by others, your frustration

That light at the end of the tunnel, thinking where it can be
but more often than not, a mirage is all that you really see
trying to transform reality, but life is only a merry-go-round
until you meet your soul, then existence becomes profound

This world is about foreseeing eventualities, that's where we're all headed
whether for good or bad, the choices we make will forever be embedded
no secrets exist in the world above, and much depends on just what we do
so look forward in making the right decisions, and those merits they accrue

How deceptive we humans are, passively content with maintaining our status
until we're put to the challenge, and in need of all that emotional apparatus
there's simply no escape, so we must face the music, learn to accept reality
our ultimate demise has already been decided, death is an absolute formality

So live for the present, and focus on the good waiting for you on the road ahead
while never forgetting, there's plan and purpose in all the good that you spread
rejoice in life and in all the good that you do, as your Creator awaits your return
destined to find true happiness, a happiness that only yearning souls can discern
This poem is about our inability to avoid eventualities. The sooner we can accept them, the sooner we can prepare for them. In the darkness is where the light will be revealed.

When love strays, no one knows why it turns
you're caught off guard, with a heart that burns
left with a dry mouth, and a mind that's numb
with no strength to cry out, your pain is mum

Yesterday you felt loved, he was the only thing on your mind
then, you were so sure he was your godsend, such a rare find
yet today you look for answers, answers for the grief you bare
making a vow to yourself, never again to fall in love, you swear

As time passes memories fade, wounds have begun to mend
going out with your friends, once again looking for a boyfriend
this endless cycle continues, maybe there will not be an end
adolescent years with many challenges, never to comprehend

There comes a point in your youth, when happiness you will finally seek
a happiness you now understand, not surrounded by the false mystique
love will not be found by searching for it, it's something that must find you
finally coming to realize, your eyes will only mislead you to a love untrue

Coming to this truth, you acknowledge there is something you need
if you want to find true happiness, and if you really want to succeed
here is the one truth for you to know, the power for this happiness is from above
G-d alone weaves the circumstances, joining two beings with happiness and love

Don't look for consolation to life's disappointments in an illusionary, temporary escape
and do not become content, in the unsafe harbour of your mind's imaginary landscape
joy and happiness and true love in your life, G-d will most certainly cause you to find
perhaps just maybe then you'll understand, why true love must necessarily be blind
A poem about why true love must be blind. True love is above & beyond, because that's where it emanates from.
Joshua Adam Jul 2015
My poem is a message, you may try to decipher it if you will
you may laugh at me, maybe cry, but I won't let you sit still
evoking emotions deep in your soul, and you need to know
feelings that define who you are, from your heart they flow

A message of truth and hope, to those feeling they live alone
as you read, you begin to think, you can no longer postpone
my words enter your heart, since that's from where they came
thoughts of truth meant to incite, because in them is no shame

Words from within, an absolute truth, is with what we do battle
trying to stir sleeping souls from their slumber, with a rattle
having considered the desired goals, they're as clear as is day
within reach to all, because acquiring the truth is not far away

The spiritual world can be seen, but not with the sight of your eyes
you must first find absolute truth, by submitting yourself to the wise
allowing yourself to perceive, truth resides above a human sphere
a plateau where holy letters and numbers, to Creation they adhere

The world was created for one purpose, to find completion via correction
where humanity will unite, exchanging hatred and jealously for affection
man was created in G-d's image, indifference to be replaced with concern
being able to honor men as we honor ourselves, humanity has yet to learn

Focused on our own needs, we've become cold to just what this life is about
it's not about what I can do for me and mine, or where to maximize my clout
life is about working on our ugly character traits, accepting a need to change
stop looking in that mirror, your vanity is what is truly the thing that is strange

The yesterdays in your life, gone forever and never to return, so try and accept
we down below were not created as angels, each of us with our distinct defect
yet hope exists while we are still alive, we must act now and examine our ways
choosing to follow that safe path of introspection, while we still have those days
My poem is a message, you may try to decipher it if you will

— The End —
