i never understood,
until now,
the appeal of
dying old.
on a porch swing,
dog at my lap
brew to my right.

it seemed so
useless to me.
until i saw
the sun set
a second time.
i never catch
a first glance.
i grow fond
for a second look.

i am so tired
of the hawks
that are bound
to my chest with
wire pulling my
baby skin away
from me. i am
too scared to
let them leave
my sight.

i have kept
fright inside for
too long. i
thought i had
something to lose
but that already
left too.

all the
good things
in life have
somewhere to be

and i am
in my childhood
bedroom weaning
off the milk.
writing poems
for no one.
for myself.

In the dark of the night,
The secrets crawl
Out from their tombs.
Born into fright,
My heart calls
For the soul’s survival.
I want to tell you
It’s too dark at night.
It's too dark at night...

with each word that you speak
i am paralysed with a fear i have never felt
frightened by each syllable because i can never tell if you mean the words that drip like poison from your lips

your eyes send shocks through my body
my bones are cracked from the electrocution of the fear surging in my veins, striking everything it comes into contact with like lightning

you as a being haunts me, your very soul possesses mine and while the horror of what you evoke inside of me is a nightmare coming to life
you make me feel like morticia addams, i crave the fright.

my demons come alive in the day time
not just at night ,
so if you ask me why
i never close my eyes ,
it just might be my mind filled with fright

with no chance of escape
i chase death to be my fate
should i hold my breath
i need not be saved
i must jump at the chance before it’s too late

hopeful to rise to heaven
as the demons cannot be risen
hopeful to leave this earth
with my body as their prison

if i should ever return
( that is believing in reincarnation)
amongst the streets a familiar face you’ve been missing

please , i beg of you

don’t tell my demons.

Upon first setting eyes on him,
she thought she'd found her mate,
his skin was white as driven snow,
with eyes as grey as slate,
his musky scent reminded her,
of funeral homes and coffins,
his icy touch sent shivers down her spine,
it was arousing,

Seduction followed shortly after dinner,
on this night,
he hovered over her sweet *******,
and killed the candlelight,
she felt his mouth caress her neck,
it bore a strange effect,
a tingle, then she felt a pop,
she felt he was *****,

A trickled stream of blood was licked,
away from her sweet breast,
a shock sent through her, climaxing,
before he let her rest,
she was entranced by his dark glare,
******* for her master,
a dreamlike state was all she felt,
time seemed to pass much faster,

He took her body countless times,
before he took her soul,
she groaned for him, he claimed her life,
while he held all control,
another ****** plucked away so savagely from life,
a predator eternal, hunts at night for a new wife.......
jjjust another horror practice,

I was sat so still
A bird landed on my foot
Whose fright was bigger?

Spring time morning sun
Warming my back,
I got lost in the pages of hello poetry
A gargoyle perched on a step
Unmoving, hesitantly... statuesque

A northern mockingbird took rest on my foot
A moments respite from beating wing
And gravity defying flight
My poor heart jumped at his sudden touch
And my foot ****** up and away
Those unexpected scratchings
My coffee cup flying

The mockingbird was no better
All grace and glide destroyed
Frantic scrabble of feathered pinions
Escape from this simulacrum come to life.

Now, From his new purchase he examines me
Suspicious eyes, blaming.
An oddity such as me. And I him.

Needless to say, we both barely survived the encounter.
I almost died from fright. So did he though. So we’re even.

At the end of the corridor
the ceiling light had burned out
one of 6 on this floor
this made the last 10 feet extremely dark
until ones' eyes adjusted
and when the remaining light
slowly allowed her to see shapes
she noticed the still shadow
she wanted to use the stairwell at this end
as the elevator had been jumpy
and in her mind,
unsafe
she paused and considered what could make this shadow
other than her silly imagination
and as she continued to focus
the shadow became clear,
distinct
it was that of a man
tall and broad
and as she watched
he turned, ever so slightly
and began to move towards her
no window, no furniture nearby to cause this oddity
her inclination to find explanation
quickly dissolved
and fear was now the emotion that guided her
that led her to the elevator without a thought to look back
'OUT OF ORDER'
the sign screamed in large red letters
now she had to look
and there he was
in the lighted area now
the shadow standing out like black on white
and he was looking at her
no eyes, no face
but she knew he was looking at her
she ran to the other end of the 8th floor corridor
damning her insomnia along the way
opened the stairwell door and glanced ever so quickly
he was within 5 feet of the door
her scream echoed up to the 12th and down to the 1st floor lobby
loud enough for the single front desk agent to hear
followed by the sound of her body thud against the 1st floor stairwell concrete
first bouncing off several of the metal handrails on its way down
"Obvious suicide" said the first investigator on the scene to the hotel manager
"No signs of a struggle"
"But why would such a beautiful young lady like this want to take her own life?"
the manager queried
"That is not for you nor I to understand, my friend.
Only the shadows know"
oldie - not really a poem...more of a really short story...I hope you can indulge me

Blood scattered all over the pavements
Gunshots and Blasts, with repeated cries
People are running, longing for their lives
and In just a beat of a drum,
rebellion has now begun.

Horrifying scenery that makes every soul awaken
terrifying scream that cause goosebumps into my skin
the nauseating scent of blood, send shiver down my spine
my heart sink, throbbing against my chest.

It was a sorrowful, tragic pointless war
a huge burden of today and tomorrow's generation
nights and days of horror, way back before
the creepiest events happens to our nation.

I was tormented by my own thought
as the picture played inside my mind
my nation and the whole world
as I asked the question “what happened to us?”

because even a thousand words won't bring us back
to the time and place that are safe and sound
the war is about to end yet no one win
on the battle field,
that has never been source of peace

Who are you today?

I am
hurt by the fact
you can deceive and love so perfectly
at the same
time
Frightened
by your sublime.

Who are you today?

I know not
who you are any longer.
I do not know which person
I would be talking to
or living with.

Get back to the spirited,
kind and trustworthy constant
that you
once were
before you strayed off
Before your dis-ease
You have a Constant
Like a star,
a knowing
Unwavering
        Please find him
And hold on
as if your life
Depended
on it.
There are two sides with bipolar illness, yet inside is the pure child where a constancy resides.
