Unleashed
She is finally freed from her cage
Her flight feathers grew back
Her wingspan impressive like the dawn of a new day
Flighted, and ready
She takes to the sky
An eruption of beauty
Never to be seen again.

Upon a blossom sat a butterfly
Spellbound by its beauty, I reached to touch
Before I could, it flew with wings of dye
Floating on air and free of any crutch.
And so the butterfly left on the wind,
What disappointment might have bloomed
Mattered not, for my full heart did rescind
The sense that fleeting beauty is thus doomed.
To see that gem take wing, light and airy!
I know for all the world I would not have
Kept that colored creature stationary
For beauty is thus, of motion made of.
A moment's flight in pure serenity
Is worth more than a still eternity.
A sonnet I wrote shortly after college. Moving around as much as I do between the states, I always feel like I'm missing something, especially friends...tried to make peace with that in this poem.

Ascending among the brilliant stars,
Varied blue, white, yellow, red;
Distinct and somewhat poignant,
Draped beneath the sky overhead.

Orion unsheaths his weapon,
Ursa major does not roar,
These bears and men who cannot see,
Lend faces to the whispy air as they soar.

Dark clouds, dim lit and hazy,
Among the moon's soft shine,
Each image is reflected,
In the city's humble skyline.

Descending alongside comets,
Hot, burning, coarse rocks,
Break free from godly confines,
And dance among men, stars, and clocks.

The sun.
So ominous and bright.
It paints the sky blue and white.
Night after night, bringing us light, giving us heat and warmth along with beauty and sight.
It is truly amazing with all its might.
We orbit around this ball of light.
This star so far yet close in flight.
It won't go down without a fight.
Pushing away the moon and night.
Wanting it's time to shine in the day.
Something we cannot take away.
Something we need for us to stay.
Just something I wrote a little while ago...

The mountain clearness
Isn't going to shift the mountain's vagueness
The steering eyes cant dip into another cloud
And we cant walk out again on their lives
A bitten howl has struck another chord in humanity
Freedom is the security that creates insanity
The Fickle hearts that smear threats on the infants hands
I believe in humanity
I don't believe in a single human

I wish for a night that the mountain's grip can hold us over
I shrink into a flower to be plucked because I am afraid
I think blood is an excuse for violence and violene is an excuse for war
We don't look in our eyes to find light
We turn the night into a fire under cars
Beeping. Burning. Bursting. Buzzing. Blasting

Fear and terror thickens the lump in my throat and cuts a circle from my organs
It is scary to think we are just humans, the same humans capable of the exctition of ourselves.

I wish to all of those out there. In fear. I will help.
I will do all that I can.
These are not just words. This is a promise.
Im dedicating my life to help others.

Moonrise
when the sun should sink
and the dry desert cry would ring
through the night
and you will soar

You will soar,
as if the wind must ask
of more
And a cracked tulip may shrivel
from the rasped breath
of your flight

Yet, it's you alone in your might.
And none would know of
your plight,
none other than the moon.
That laughing moon....
If only to pluck it out with talon-ed finger...

But you, with clever eye,
will see that so long as your sole arch
carves the sky
perhaps could quake even the shadowed backs of devils below and
still
always
you will soar

Night glider, sing
Sink, or take wing
Dry wind on feather
Earth and bird, together
I'm new.  First poem.  Hello.

We are the Pilots of our plane
Navigating this Life
Through the trails and terrain.

When life is kind,
The path is clear like blue skies.
But there are times when our travel meets turbulence,
It can create chaos and a erupt disturbance.

Do we fight the storm, or continue our flight?
Maybe we need ground.
To take a break, and get our bearings down.

When our head is in the clouds
And we don’t know what to do,
Sometimes it’s best to rest rather than move.

The clouds do fade,
The rain doesn’t stay,
Although we might wish things could change,
Good things do come to those who wait.

We are still the Pilots this Plane
Even if our forecast tells there will be wells of pain.
If not alone, then together we will weather
any atmospheric pressure that comes our way.

Hold me, love me
With all of your mite
Be with me
Just for tonight

Let's drink and get high
Until the morning light
Have fun and let go
Just for tonight

Be wild and crazy
Let's start a fight
Be stupid with me
Just for tonight

Travel with me
And see new sights
Let's have an adventure
Just for tonight

Let's jump off this cliff
And then take flight
Take risks with me
Just for tonight

Lay with me
And count the satellites
Let's be silent
Just for tonight

It's just you and me
in the moonlight
Thank you so much
Now it's good night
