To love his guise is to love a god
Of gold and emerald hue
I want your skin - is that so odd? -
As well as the rest of you.

His eyes ...
The most beautiful
shade of emeralds
deep as jungle
holding many secrets
reflecting his emotions
his smile lighting up
the golden flecks
in his iris
like the sunlight dancing
in the lush green meadows
his demons turning
gold flecks into black streaks
like shadows ready to
take over the jungle
but
the moment her hazel eyes
looked into his emerald ones
she knew
she was lost in the deep
jungles
never to be found again !!

I have a basil plant
with some lovely, emerald leaves
crowning 3 strong, thick columns
in an off-white, ceramic ***.

Decorated with delicate foliage, hand-painted
in rust and green,
how it glows in the sunshine
on the tiled kitchen window sill.

It could be my lack of faith or the fact that this rose quartz has yet to bring me the love it should. It could also be my lack of self acceptance but I will never admit that.

I hope you when you're driving down the interstate, closing in on the exit you seek, you remember I'm not that far away.

And I hope one day you'll wake up and know that I would rather be anywhere with you than in this summer heat dying for the rain.

It could be my lack of faith or the fact that this emerald didn't bring me **** for luck. It could also be my lack of self esteem that brings me to his bed dreaming of you.

One day I'll wake up and wish the best for you and your new life... And one day I'll wake up in my room sober instead of drunk and lustful night after night.

And I hope one day you'll wake up and remember that I'm not that far away... And you'll wake up and know that if clean my **** up if you would just stay.
Dive down into
the Sea of Words,
flip my mermaid tail
to the passersby.

Dive down deep
to the bottom
of the sea, the
very deepest depths
of this salty sea.

When I come up
to the surface again,
starfish weave shells
into my auburn hair,
while sirens sing
new words to me.

Vast expanse of
emerald waters,
Sea of Words
you are my home.

Perhaps I am simple
I love simple things
Glass, blown or slubbed
Crystal or colored
Cobalt
Emerald
Cranberry
Rose
Sparkling in sunlight
Catching the flame
These simple pleasures
Bring me joy
As much as any gem

Exception, the Opal
Begins life as water
Seeps into stone
Becomes over time
Fire within water
Shadow of aeons
Life within stone
Water gone solid
As solid as glass,
and as fragile

I wrote this poem after collecting shells and beach glass one afternoon.  Opals are my birth stone and have long been favorites.
I have read this poem in public many times but this is the first time it appears in print.
Star light full of silver
Moon beams laced with gold
I'd give you all I gather
For you just to behold

Flecks of gold in sunshine
Silver steaks upon the sea
I'd gather all for you to have
If you would be with me

Gather up the silver dust
Gather up the gold
Gather up the moonlight mist
I will offer up my soul
Gather up the silver dust
Gather up the gold
Gather up the moonlight mist
If you once I just could hold

Emeralds and ruby gems
From rainbows in the sky
I'd gather them for you as well
For you my dear I'd die

I'd mine for diamonds in the night
From the stars up oh so high
I'd gather all if you would be
The one for which I'd die

Gather up the silver dust
Gather up the gold
Gather up the moonlight mist
I will offer up my soul
Gather up the silver dust
Gather up the gold
Gather up the moonlight mist
If you once I just could hold
Upon the shores of Malachite
Next to the cobalt seas
Under molten silver slivers of moonbeams
That shatter on the crystal icing
Covering the diamonded waterfall
By the golden sand . . .
Gather the Unicorns
Of Neptune , Uranus , and Pluto and beyond
Playfully cavorting between
Steel seas and emeralded mountains
On the frozen sands of time unchanged
For a thousand Earth's comings

But it's just a dream
A lunacy , a nothingness in the night
All my Unicorns have taken to flight
And were never there
Or were they ?

All the frozen seas . . .
Are now warm Florida Keys
Under a full August moon
And all the mountains . . .
Are impossible fears
That have faded into prairies
Swelling like seas
And there are no proof prints
In the sands of time
Of a far away race
Frozen in time

And their hearts were pure diamond
For they would always be
Tolerant,
Noble,
Sympathetic
To the needs of those around,
But they were susceptible
To the weakness of those
That were
Fragile
Flesh
Human
Emotion would taint the pure,
What was once solid changed
With each transgression
The heart changed
Ruby
Raged upon those around
Uncontrollable cracks did show
Emerald
Eyes ignited by the wanting of others
Love, belongings, tainted colours showed.
Amber
They could not take the emotion
Confusion
Frustration
Depression
Was the end of many, on to the
"Shards of tears"
Would many then fall
Torn to pebbles, now resting beneath
They were once pure heart
Diamond,
"Shone through"
But once the seed planted it grew,
"Then the inevitable"
The sins turned a heart to stone
Frozen with emotion,
Erased just cold  rock now stood
A frozen moment,
Life,
Stillness,
Corruption
Had taken another ancient
For one day all would be but rock,
Those that helped the beginnings of a species
Now all is corrupted by the taint that is **man..

What did these hands do before they held your hand..
They must have been resting idly;
waiting for that perfect fit, the perfect span
that leaves my heart beating wildly.

What did these lips do before they got lost in your lips..
They must have remained sealed, and grim;
waiting for you to drink my soul in measured sips,
from a chalice eternally filled to the brim.

What did these eyes do before they beheld your eyes..
They must have gazed into total darkness;
waiting for a light from emerald skies,
to obliterate the utter starkness.

What did my mornings consist of
before I woke up next to you..
your tousled hair and your dreamy eyes,
your arms around me,
my legs between your steel-hard thighs.

What did my time consist of
before I spent it in your presence..
For now ~ during the times you are away,
I linger in your essence.
