Half of me yearns to forget your name
Memory that burns like an ember
The other half is stubborn
Determined to remember
The decision between what you know and what you feel is the hardest you will ever face. I chose my head and it led me right to my hearts true desires. And now I am happy and feel like I made the right choice.

Remember the small ember drifting through the cold starry void. Alone it goes to an enigma. Call him yer own.
What makes the past never come forth?
Can there be some worth?
The spark starts shifting and with it, a tint of grey trys to smother another's dream. The freezing air hugs my flame and wants to blow it out with one swift breath. Raise a glass to all the lonely wishers. For their hearts land in an abyss in which they can't creep out of. But they hold on, for there's an ember burning.

Have you ever touched a flame?
I don't believe I have.
My body has burned
on coals and embers.
My fingers have scorched
on stovetops and lighters.
My hands have followed
sweet candles and incense.
And my eyes have danced
with the flickering dames.
But I ask you again,
if it isn't too much,
have you ever touched a flame?
Can a flame truly be touched?

What might it be that doesn't let me compete to three verses ?
Perhaps it is that I tend to write longer poems, perhaps the lengh
shouldn't matter so much as the message is carried through.
From mind to heart, then to ones soul I try to reach out with no goal.
Yet am beaten, brought back down, by three verses which show up
with such malice, ominous, threatful aura, they have approached me.
I pretend not to mind, I pretend not to have seen it, yet the simple,
silly, broken stream in my thoughts has already engaged it.
So that it once again, cannot repress, envy on such a level.
My writing style might have been through changes, might have
come to a disliking to those who prefer a clear, structured, yet well
recorded, beautiful and magnificent rhyme pattern.
That should surely catch one's eye, perhaps fill them with glee and
bliss, happy thoughts that they would miss once they are gone.
But no, I cannot turn, this path was chosen, locked, destined to be
walked upon on an journey which has become endless, by time
which had stopped passing anymore.
So now it became unrecognised, forgotten, left in an abyss without
any light to expose it to the world outside my head.
Such is the fate, which I will gladly bear with, for this, has been
a  route, from which I learn and educate.
So go ahead, you can take my flame thrice, even if I might not be
able to burn this image into your eyes, this ember, about to go out
from the cold, windy, airless area, will only burn brighter.
As it rises from the ashes and yet again, goes ablaze

Polish a coin until it shines
A coin it still remains

Scratch the surface, smash the matter on the tracks
And yet the etching still ingrained

Flattened to the edge of flat
So the world around remains

As a coin which flips is falling fast
With fate less interchanged

No bounce determines forward path
Which wasn't first ordained

Mere steadfast midst matters of the past
For we all in life break change
Just started writing on a whim and the reference made me think of an old acquaintance from a former life. Ember Nickle.

" A cigarette is my lover,
Comforting me during my hardest times,
Turning my sadness to smoke
My anger into ember
And caresses my lips
With the deadly kiss of nicotine "

A lone stray ember
I cannot rekindle
But no matter
how hard I stomp on it
refuses to be put out.
Stubbornly, obstinately
it keeps on glowing.

Have I ever told you what metaphor you are?
You remind me of my personal morning star
I am scared like a child, finding asylum in your light
And the only things that can hurt me come out at night.

I wait eagerly and patiently for your quick return
I just wish your sweet kisses stuck with me like sunburn
But when all is said and done, I can rely on you
Because when I need you the most, you rise again, anew

So never burn out, because the sun hasn’t yet
After five-billion years, the sun hasn’t ultimately set
Though if there’s one thing that you must remember
It’s that I will still love you until the sun’s merely an ember

She was small, quick, agile; a red fox darting
through the forest, quiet as the moon.
She was the fox and he was the hunter,
chasing her like owls chase the stars.
Those never-ending forests were an infinity
of dark limbs reaching from the earth to grasp
at the sky and pull it closer, and they circled
one another in its depths. Slowly and curiously,
she moved closer, only to dance and shift away
when love's embers began to settle within his eyes.
She began to run once more and did not stop until,
one day, the hunter became a fox
and she turned around to look him in the eye.
