~~^^~~
in the desert heat
coyotes scream so wildly
echo through the sage
~^~
mercury rising
thermometers replace clocks
the burning sky melts

sunrise to sunset
blue turns pink yellow and orange
colors to behold

Arizona heat
a hundred ten in the shade
eggs fry on sidewalks

they always say
to set free
the things you love,

but they never mention
that you will still
love
what you set free.

There's always a place
Where the sand meets the sea,
Yet Earth's changing face
Seems so stable to me.

Nature is a maze
Mountains, deserts, and plains,
Yet we, in our craze,
Seem to enjoy its chains.

Dependence, we own
We kiss the dry soil,
Yet seeds we have sown
Seem so worth the toil.

Pains we do endure
Natural disaster,
Yet this ground's allure
Results in hereafter.

I believed in You.
You were Family to Me.
You made Me believe you would be there for Me.
To comfort Me. To encourage Me.
But most importantly... Trust..
One of the many links in the chain that you've broken.
Now that chain is dragging me down, down under the water.
All those lies forcing me under.
Drowning me.
Trust...
Air...
I lost both because of You.
My emotions are a ball and chain
A weapon of longing and pain
as i'm held hostage by righteousness and pride
as i'm longing for my long lost bride
the world around me sheds its shell
and i'm stuck here, in my lonely hell
found this in one of poem journals, the pages were stuck together xD
The loneliest sunset
The cold with a chill

The link between night . . . day
Dark and nil

The chain that is life
Fused into links with death

Desolving into
A meaninglessness

Happiness and sadness
Go hand and paw

Frozen stiff now
Too cold to thaw

Bye , bye ,
My once sweet soul

Once so frisky
Always so bold

May you journey
Forever on

Because time won't
Break our eternal bond
Bunny , the runt of the litter whose own mother refused to nurse , grew up to be the most remarkable cat . Sadly she died of cat lukemia and left me heart broken . She refuse to die inside the house , instead one evening just before dark she slipped out . I found her dead the next day frozen with her eyes open looking at where the sun would set .
Deep in the chest
Bones crushed within.

No blood
No screams.
All halted.

A sinking anchor
Chain's crowning jewel
The throne resides below.

Sink a little further
It shall pass

not before
breaths escape
to traps of waters
blackened by their virginity
to the light.

Ripping old wounds
Only to reveal the infection
Festering in your thoughts
And spreading to your soul
Unrecognized through the haze
Brought by the darkness
Devouring you from the inside out

But through the chasm
Light finally breaks in
Chasing the ghosts away
Making way for healing
And breaking free from chains

Covered wounds now uncovered
Left bare so others may judge
May empathize
But mostly so that this time
They may heal properly.

Pain gets passed along a chain,
from You to Me
from Me to Him
and now we're all sat here
upset for the same reason.
But this wasn't the bonds i hoped for
or the ties I wished to make or keep.
Try to break the cycle,
but apologies just won't cut it,
for goodness sake, too weak

She couldn't love You,
You couldn't love Me,
I couldn't love Him.
Don't you wish you could
go back to the beginning?
But where do you start in a circle?
A ring has no beginning or ending
it's everlasting,
that's why it's a symbol for Love,
so if I can't exchange it
maybe in verse I can
inverse all of the above

He loved Me,
I loved You
and You loved Her
and loves a beautiful thing,
and I hope one day soon
we'll all be able to
love ourselves too,
truely deep within
and on that day perhaps
this chain will cut us some slack,
we'll be facing the right way
and will be able to see Love
and give it back.
Cause the thing about chains,
they can run either way,
joy gets passed along too
during happier days
and they will come,
surely as this chain
remains undone.

**Name's Bond, Chains Bond
If I possessed the patience, vision and prowess of some of the concrete poets on here (Ryn anyone?) I would have liked to have written this in a chain or cycle formation alas i probably would have dashed my phone out of the window by now in sheer frustration. Haha so use your imagination and maybe some mind altering drugs kids!

Beauty in the sky as it blesses us with rain,
Beauty in the the words that swept away the tame,
Beauty in our fellow man whom fights with sword in hand,
Beauty that he may one day hold his peace at last my friend,
Beauty in the women whom can retort with strength and valour,
Beauty that she may one day find the grace to whit her manner,
Beauty in the blades of grass that blanket our earthly womb,
Beauty in the golden chains we lace around our tomb,
Beauty to whom it may seem is a mystery,
Can you tell me of true beauty?
Beauty is everywhere but what is it?
