Binding cracking as I open again
Pages falling into place from the last read
Hello again my old friend
Take me to the world
From the first time long ago
Captivate me with your words
Let me get lost in the story
Reading by low light once again
This never gets old
I never grow tired
My room has grown quiet
My glasses on my nose
Once again old friend
You have my full attention
Read on.

As with the wind’s cold reminder,
as with the new leaf’s shock,
we remember when we are

This grey overcoat holds sway
but in its way, familiar
and fitting

The technicolour
glitz of balmy days
failed to keep us captive

Rattle on your prison bars today
and swing low
for unsure tomorrows

.
Leaves on branches
break away and blow free.

In search of hale
untrodden ground.

Seemingly sturdy trunk,
bent to a slouch.

Captive roots half-emerged
from its earthly bound.

Among the myrtles –
Yes, in between
A green, so fertile! –
A King was seen

Atop His stallion –
A chestnut red –
As His battalion
Patrolled ahead

Throughout all the earth
Both far and wide
Observing the mirth
But birthed by pride

The report came back,
“At rest! At rest!
By behest of Black!
Asleep; possessed!”

---

Among the myrtles –
Yes, in between
The deep, the gurgle! –
A King was seen

Atop His stallion –
A chestnut red –
As His battalion
Then stormed ahead

Throughout all the earth
Both far and wide
To silence the mirth
But birthed by pride

The report came back,
“Alas! Alas!
The quake; the crack!
Judgment has passed!”

---

Among the myrtles –
Yes, in between
A green, so fertile! –
A King was seen

Atop His stallion –
A chestnut red –
As His battalion
Awoke the dead

Throughout all the earth
Both far and wide
His reign making mirth
As death had died!

The report came back,
“At last! At last!
The captives are back!
Returned at last!”

---

At last! At last!
The captives are back!
Returned at last!
Returned at last…

A sailor without a
ship
A shoulder missing a
chip
Chaotic control slipping off my
grip
Chained to unreasonable
complacence

Calmness as a God
You disappear into
the fog

While life sails on by
singing sweet goodbyes

To be in love with a man in *******--
Is to shatter your heart a thousand times.
For my love is held in her fondness.
What will become of us and our love crimes?

Are we ungodly with no virtue left?
Have we no soul left in our mortal shells?
Have we lost our halos or was it theft?
Will we ever hear heaven’s freedom bells?

You are bound, tied by hand, and feet to her.
You are held captive by left hand and ring.
You are covered in love, you reek of myrrh.
For her, you will sing, to me, you will cling.

How can one so faithful fail another?
If not me, nor her, then who? My lover.

I'm falling.
How can no one
hear my screams or
see what holds me captive?
I'm trying to stay afloat,
and no one sees that.
I'm falling.

i sip away my tears
that have landed
in my watered down
tea.
the strength it once held
no longer holds me
captive.

rebellious dark clouds,
took the full moon their captive;
rains freed her quick!

I'm convinced that this is purgatory
and we are all captive
inside of ourselves
