"punks" poems
Why is it so cool to hate on a group for their fashion sense? Or that they like to be off the mainstream? You are doing the same thing that people were doing to the grunge goths punks hippies beatniks flappers and they all did something with their counterculture. Ever think that ours is the hipsters? Not really, they've been around since *The *** Pistols* actually they started them. They made it cool to go to a thrift store and buy things out of comfort then rip it up change it so it looked brand new. Punk that made Hipsters. But now they are just some fad that people hate on. Just because they like to talk about indie bands knowing them first wearing band tee's of bands they listen too wearing vintage and retro clothing likes reading being in a cafe organic food vegan. Stereotyping a group is all people did. Now I can't wear things or do things because some *** hole is going to say **"Ha you're such a ******* hipster!"** Why don't we stop hating people on what they wear because how do you expect to get past racism homophobia sexism ableism fatphobia transphobia prejudice if we can't even get past how people dress?

Mud is good, Its dead good mud, It's in me blood, But where not understood, Us people of mud, In the shadow of a gas tank and born on a Mersey bank, I lived on cobbled streets dark and dank, I played on a ship that sank, and for anything else I wouldn’t thank....... you On king street docks, girls in cheap frocks, curly locks, time tocks, the boat rocks, The tanyard smell made life hell for all that dwell, under the bridge, In Garston L19, it’s the scene, its clean, it’s where I’ve been, it’s not obscene or green, if you know what I mean. Its community security sincerity and every other word that ends with erity, But it’s fallen apart, Don’t lose heart. I go into town when I’m down, it clears me frown, I don’t go in me jarmies or me dressin gown, There’s men with round bellies, toddlers in wellies, Posh ladies gather in their marks and spencer swagger, There’s scouse brow teens, sunbed queens, Hunks and punks, lonely drunks, Suits in boots forgetting their roots and hens in ***** Big issue sellers, statue fellas holding golf umbrellas, Coz of all the rain, But it’s all good, coz we come from mud, Let’s cheer, why? Coz I’m here, I’m me, me names T, and me hubbys P me best friends she..... lagh, I like coffee and toffee and Roger Mcgoughy, I like statistics logistics eye shadow and lipsticks, I like bags and wags and cigarette **** but not beer, I’m fine on wine if I take me time, I don’t do a line, unless I’m hanging me washing on it, I work in a bar, not far, I don’t drive a car, and I don’t say Lar or kid or lad or lid or mar, I’m proud and loud, don’t live on a cloud, and I don’t follow the crowd, I’m a mum to some, I’ve got a big round *** but I’m me you see, I’m not square, I dye me hair, I swear but you can take me anywhere, Coz I care, I’m good, I’m mud; it’s in me blood, Understood By Christina Ford

*Dust on the ledge, before me, magnified Smell of gun oil in my nostrils and cramp in the calves The boredom of the wait intensifies, Stale air in my loft is full of must With the failing light I’m grateful it is almost time to stand down. Through the cross hair sprints a target An ordinary, everyday, running target, I know not who this target is, I know not why it runs across my sights, But because it is, where it is, It becomes my enemy. In a microcosm of time the loud bang alters things forever. The buck of the rifle’s recoil, The immediate sour stench of the shot washes back across my face. The intoxication felt, in being the one who caresses the trigger. The satisfaction earned in deservedly making the **** My target spirals in mid stride, Contorts in agony And collapses to the rough tarmac To lie dishevelled, an insignificant, dishevelled item. Checking the **** through the telescopic sight I see the rough stubble of the chin, The nicotine stain on the fingers, I see the colour of the eyes are pale blue. …I know well, it will breathe no more. With descending twilight I trudge from my tower perch With the long ****** rifle slung across my weary shoulders The  crones in the street glare as I walk by There is a loathing in their aged eyes, It is a tangible thing. This is america. It's a one of a kind. You can buy **** at the store. You can bide your time. Voting red or blue. Is a favorite pastime. Doesn't really matter which side you choose. Like it doesn't matter if a poem will rhyme. Hell you could write freestyle poetry about nothing and that's accepted. Cuz this is america and you're free to be an idiot. Inspected. Suspected. Slot machines and credit cards Stop lights and go-go bars Social security and national debt Red white and blue baby We're the best! Patriots of olde and punks of New. World Order abound The olde ways are through! By and by Time after time Woe are to those With woman and child. Times is tuff says the country station but be the 5th caller to win this Ozark vacation. Skoal and Miller High Life 40s. Marlboro Reds, rap music and shorties. Sorry shawties but midgets are better. What's more profound than talkin bout the weather? I forgot the original point that I wanted to share with ya but **** it, you know what I mean? This is america.

if you care to know what life was like for a teenage girl, in Buffalo, NY i would have to tell you, that indeed, stonewash jeans were HOT and even more so, if they were rolled up, folded, and p i n n e d. it was the tail end of punks, with the rise of grunge, pearl jam s o u n d g a r d e n and REM michael jackson and p r i n c e. SNL, chicken wings, and the phantom of the opera the world was sad the middle east was sad and the president was a pervert. what more is there to say? other than the driveway and porch parties and of course, computers pagers and andy warhol. there really wan't much to it. camping, stars in the country and crisp fall air and winters that never ended. brutal sun, freezie pops and dance routines. i was a girl. what more can i say?

Cyber! Neon green, pinks, Hair like vivid spotlights At nightclubs, darting, sharp, Strong-willed and persistent, Piercing through the pale skin Laid thinly over fog. Shock-shock! If anarchy Is popular, what does It mean to rebel? Rave Lights beam through the system Like tracer rounds! The punks Spin like halogen bulbs. Steel! Plenty of plastic. Enough to rebuild the Eccentric walls of their Flashy nightclubs. Above, Sophisticated chains Spin and drag over meat; Pointless. A simple sort Of mechanisation. The music, the plastic, The hair dye; all of it Spits to the contrary, Such anarchists are they.

Punkface
Wilt my lungs I’ll breathe in bitter bloom And fill my chest with concrete tombs At twenty one I exhaled tar And covered my birthday cake Ribs for the skyline This city built a church round my heart Before some gutter punks spray painted the side of the stained glass With the suicide rates of middle-class citizens Nothing has been the same since When I was young I was raised on Disney And taught that my bones were living things At thirteen years old I nestled a heart within the clouds and smoke of my chest It suffocated to death I’ve never broken a bone But I’ve trailed plenty of marrow

Vast, empty, midnight hour, hunchbacked lampposts glaring over parasitic black earth choking its host. A parking lot, an ecosystem’s blemish— hot tar seeping into the pores of the earth like a stubborn blackhead in a lip line. When no cars burrow into the blackened hide like lice the great absence of life is an atrocity. I imagine myself skateboarding across the tier as the small town cops watch languidly with vague interest— A skateboarder’s paradise where wheels and accomplice minds roll across celestial barriers blasting infinite pulses into the microcosm. What greasy punks have their mother’s van parked here, huddling by the heat vents and jerking off into a Pringle’s can? Empty parking lot looks like a cemetery filled to the brim where headstones meld over a mass grave— delineated by white lines, the apparitions of vehicles and their hosts haunt the frozen space. Another horrible excuse to waste land, a wasteland in and of itself where Tom Eliot saunters aimlessly and buries the dead. The saddest sight to behold, this vacuous parking lot littered with stray shopping carts, phantasmal plastic bags, gum splotches, ***** stains, candy wrappers, cigarette butts, used condoms, lonely cops and patient drug dealers, ambulant skaters, tired punks, bored teenagers, somnambulists, stumbling drunks, hunchbacked ***** lights prying for life beneath its sallow gaze— The air encapsulated within the perdition stifling, the pavement below stifling, a constriction only visible when emptied of its contents. A cop wakes from their choking nightmare gasping to find themselves trapped, ****** in this parking lot where the walkie-talkie buzzes with the weeping and gnashing of teeth. The warehouse store looming above the waiting room lifeless, silent, dark countenance— Big Brother sees all in the gaping maw. Cascading before me, stretching towards the highway passing by, waiting for the panorama to finish scrolling, the treadmill to cease its cycle— all the while lamenting life’s absence and reveling in the potentiality it possesses.

Parking Lot Lament
Parents shield young child eyes As elders clutch their beating chests These people look at us and think "Punks" "Burn-outs" "Delinquents" "Youths" "Always causing trouble where ever they go" I'm not a bad kid, honestly, I'm just playing your part

Trouble Makers
My friends and I are forlorn fabrics haphazardly stitched into a quilt. Comprised of different textures and fabrics, frayed at the ends, rejected pieces meant for the trash, not good enough for made-to-wear mall clothes. My friends and I fit like a puzzle consisting of pieces from various other puzzles-- found under coffee tables, between couch cushions, tossed into the bowels of forlorn toy bins-- forming a collage of something disoriented and ambiguous. Crammed together, smashing our appendages, leaving crooked gaps, wrinkled, torn, ****** up, but feeling better here than in our small contribution to the bland image of our factory's design. My friends and I, outcasts, rejects, punks, convening in the junkyard heap where we dance and laugh among trash that makes us feel clean. Pure when we're filthy. Quilts and puzzles, to instill and befuddle; ****** treasures.

****** Treasures
what we need is more banjo, more djembe, more thunder finger bass guitar -- what we need is less boredom -- less fear of failure, less fear of ******* less Jane Austen. what we need is the electric charge of neurons fire dancing like the night sky of the fourth of july, what we need is to learn the lesson of rivers and runners -- keep up the momentum what we need is more honey, watermelon, sweet potatoes, peanut butter, and coconut oil. more weirdos, more hippies, more punks, more rappers, more poets, if you have something to say we pretty much need you. we need more gin and less gender roles more sin and less slapstick more trees and trampolines and ties between you and I. we don't even need to be human we just need to be sustainable.

It was night time when we met them, The Punks awaiting Pizza, Outside of Domino's on the main street of town. Myself, and two friends were walking home On the lamp lit streets. One called out "Want a game of skate?" And Josh, who carried a skate board, agreed. Indie and I sat down beside their leader as we watched their game. "How are you guys tonight?" He asked us, "Good thanks" we replied, And heard a little moan The lead punk moved, And from inside his denim jacket a puppy poked out his head. We crooned; "Oh he's gorgeous, what's his name?" "Chaos." The punk replied. Of course. We petted chaos on the head. A girl punk came out from round the corner, "It's still not out." She told him. "What are you waiting for?" We asked. "We ordered pizza," He said "We're just waiting for them to stop waiting for someone to pay. When they throw it out, we get free pizza." We laughed, we'd never heard such a plan before. The girl held three avocados in her hands I asked if she'd got them from New World, I'd been excited that they were on special this week "No," She replied, "I got them for free. Out of a dumpster." "Oh." "So, are you guys like real punks then?" "Yeah guess you could say that." The leader said. "We don't respect society, and they don't respect us." "We've been crashing in abandoned houses. Some landlord found us the other day, But he didn't really care, Cause we hadn't broken any windows." Josh won the game of skate. And we got up to leave, "Nice to meet you guys." We said, "Good to meet you too." They replied "Keep safe."

the wind that howls in the deepest night is a comforting sound the dog that moans in the earliest light is a soulmate found I abhor the thought of wistful bliss of nervous laughter unprovoked I slip into my warm abyss this sea of pain on which I choke I wade in pools of sought despair while cowards seek their mothers I dance on floors of rotted wood and sing to ghosts of lovers I find it my salvation to document this pain to analyze the demons and revel in the rain perhaps one day I'll leave this place and walk into the Sun to share the light of happiness content my deed is done
