I escape this cloud of destruction with a different aura--
one of ruby moods and sapphire disposition.

I shine into this new threshold with desperate hope
and a thirst for diamonds.

What will this new hell endure?

The fiery pits of fashion
or the comforting waves of idleness?

Whether the weather,
hot or icy
my weak determination lies in the false promise
of an improved destiny.

Hope below the moonlight
Invested in nonsense
Believing if there's hope
Life won't need to end

Childhood, so sweet,
put holes in my teeth
Innocent nightmares
bear cruel realities
They grow there

Hope below the moonlight
Invested in nonsense
Believing if there's hope
Passion grows, endlessly
She was wrong

Fire gets the rain
Smiles wither
Teeth rot
Empathy opens
Invites love
Invites pain

Time expedites
The threshold dips lower & lower
The balance upsets
Love disappears
Pain envelopes

Now I can't feel
Why would I
not want that?

Beyond which no dreams knock
My eyes are that threshold
More than my talks
Only my symbolic silences were there
Since you came here
My world started moving
World of mine started moving

The place of God was empty in my heart
Today I saw your face in that place
I came to you wandering like a cloud
I came and I showered as if you are a hill

You be the soul and I will be the body
Lifelong I will be your shadow
I then want to become a hermit
So I tell you, I want to be yours
You harness me, I am the power
You are the night, I am the moonlight

The place of God was empty in my heart
Today I saw your face in that place
I came to you wandering like a cloud
I came and I showered as if you are a hill

We will pay the favour of stars
We had many incomplete desires
That still bind us to each other
The desire of a darling little one
In our little home, we will get settled
Let nobody's evil eye baffle us

The place of God was empty in my heart
Today I saw your face in that place
I came to you wandering like a cloud
I came and I showered as if you are a hill

The threshold of the unpassed
days of future past
dolled my own edge
living life in my head
I've worn more nooses than crowns
we've seen the empires fall down
dreams fall down to the ground
and we don't make a sound

love to see death on the TV screen
*** it seems so real to me
and life can be so obscene
better than life so real to me

The endless charades we play
The memories last
Living life on the edge
wondering will it last
I've worn more nooses than crowns
the walls come crumbling down
dreams fall down to the ground
And we can't make  sound
what a wonderful coincidence to discover that when I look up
one of my two favorite words
threshold
it is linked to my other favorite word
phenomenon
but my life is laced with coincidence
my third favorite word
they happen daily
like itches

for instance,
today I did a wikipedia search for Ezra Pound
because my poetry student daughter fell in love with one of his pieces
I find that from 1945 to 1958
Mr Pound was incarcerated at St Elizabeth's Psychiatric Hospital in Washington D.C. after being found incompetent to stand trial
for treason against the United States
my father worked at St Elizabeth's hospital for 30 years
including the 12 that Mr. Pound was a patient
my father, who kept his poetry hidden in a little black book

I have a vision of him
young at the time
enamored with the 60 plus year-old poet
seeking him out and finding him
resting outside at one of the tables
enjoying the simplicity and intricacies of nature
and perhaps they have a chat about poetry...
my father having a chat with Ezra Pound
70 years before his granddaughter falls in love
with one of his poems
a poem already written and filed away somewhere in the memory of a once beloved poet

threshold: the magnitude or intensity that must be exceeded for a certain reaction, phenomenon, result or condition to occur or be manifested.
“nothing happens until the signal passes the threshold”
Many thanks to Jamadhi verse, who's poem 'Threshold' ispired this piece and to my daughter Jenna who discovered Ezra Pound

"Knock knock"
Still in my pyjamas.
We drank coffee and smoked cigarettes.
He went to a rap gig the night before.
Fifteen dollars wasted.

An old school friend.
More coffee.
We spoke of art, travel and vegetable gardens.
In Japan they don't eat or show affection in public she told me.
Aokigahara finally makes sense.

Lucky Coq.
Girls would ****** for his hair.
He told me of his grandfathers poetry recitals every Christmas.
Idiosyncrasies are the ventriloquists of my heart.

We smoked under vine-entwined lanterns.
He fell in love with a French girl once and lived with her in Versailles.
He was young and went back home.
Regret at the fork in the road.

Left to find a 24/7 bottle shop and go home.
Crossed paths with old friends.

There is a divine light in thine -
Under a Lover’s seas;
Where the oceans sing this rhyme,
To burden a Threshold.

Spill me the symphonies
Of the forgotten man’s wake -
For a lone man’s Threshold,
Is home to Sorrow’s stake.

You gave dusk
A whole new meaning.
The coming of darkness
Has become my greatest
Most terrifying fear
The one that knocks
On the door
At the end of every day
And that creeps past the threshold
Welcome or not.
And it all become a game
Of hide and go seek
As I run from the pain
Cower from the emotion
Flee from the memories.

A life in Ruins, a hurt far wide
alone and alienated from the world
a fairy tale lost of all imagination
made the hurt open wide ...

Inside this life
I close my yes I live to tell
with dreams cluttered and whirled
people change I can't wait for them
TO TELL ...

I can't explain if your listening
lock up in silence a living hell
a loving hand that saved me
you step across my threshold
how could you I cry ...

The Angels sing to me like the wind.
throughout the trees, with echoes of
thundering walls, my mind is blank
of all synchronicities, I can't explain
only if your listening ....

A brave new world awaits for me
under its spell, waits for me to explore
if only I take can a leap of faith
and unmask my veil of shadows
masked by the moon, it's way to soon
PLEASE DON'T tell ...

You stepped across my threshold
one last time ...

You
You are the awe that fills my soul,
Every time I see the sun rise.
Just as it has,
5267 other times of my temporary existence.
You are the small beauties that make life magnificent.
And like a telescope your image is amplified.
When I see you, every doubt I've ever had is denied.
The threshold of every nerve impulse is intensified,
I feel you.
My only wish,
Is that one day you'd would feel me too.
Ever felt like this?
