painful memories
encased in a troubled heart
waiting for rescue
In need for a friend.

Creation abounds
It wants to be found
It seeks to be shared
Please don’t be scared
Because nobody cares

Nobody cares in the best kind of way
The way in which people don’t judge one another
We’re really just filling our vision with colors
Impressions appear but it’s rare when they stay

No one will see if you fumble or stumble
And if they do see, well let’s all be humble
How much of their attention will even go
To encode your fleeting failure at flow

So zoomed into our narrow view
We fail to see events unraveling
We look for something to do
Constantly time traveling

Forget the past
The future is glass
Relax and be pleasant
Let’s stay in the present

In this moment nobody cares
The spotlight you fear shines from within
So emerge from your hidden lair
And finally let your life begin

Pull the sheets up;
Let's hide under them.

No one can find us here.
Sure, no one is looking, either.
But I want to be with you, no distractions.

Take my hand in yours,
Can you hear my heart racing?

Can you tell my soul is aching?
I want to let it go.
I wanted to let you know,
Because I'd never let it show.

Would you stay with me, after the fact?
Could I share with you the truths of my past?
I don't want what we have to be ruined by that.
I don't want what we have to be ruined by anything.

Is it better I keep my secrets hidden,
That I keep inside where I hurt?
Or do you wish to lick my wounds.

Can I be myself with you,
Or only a percentage..

You gave me your heart
As a gift
You wrapped it
with healing words
and pure intentions
And I couldn’t wait to unwrap it
You gave it to me
Without me ever having to tell you
What I needed
I’m starting to think you know
What I need
More than I do
What you never told me
Was just how precious
Your heart really is
You don’t give things away easily
You don’t give your time
To those that would waste it
You don’t give your energy
To those that don’t deserve it
You don’t give your undivided attention
To those that would rather serve as a distraction
Away from your path
You don’t give things away easily
But you gave me your heart
with out a second thought
and it has made all the difference
in me

Tomorrow makes its way into the history
of my heart – always a mystery to me
it is full of people, music, feeling, and strain
a morsel of ache and moments of drain
it has taken me
walked and run
from rising to setting sun
from shame to grace
from a lower to a higher place.

This old heart has filled me with tears
of sadness, joy, faith and fears
awe and anger, glorious heights
lowly dark and bruising disgust
love full of passion, pain, and trust.

Touched by victories over incredible odds
moved from darkness to cirrus gods
from squalls and brawls and angry shouting
snatched me from moments of demons and doubting.

Heart to beating heart in warm embraces
football in sandlots and youthful races
fearful greetings and tearful goodbyes
falling in love with her big brown eyes
heart to heart in evenings of sharing
from being apart to coupling and caring.

And so tomorrow I and my heart
go again for another new start
in the hands of healers
and angels from afar
whatever comes from this
if all is well or it goes amiss
I fear not whatever the course
for I have been - and will be - in the hands of the Source.
Thursday, 4-11-19, again I will go to the hospital where doctors will try to kick-start my heart back into rhythm.  In some ways it is routine for I have been there three times before, but it IS my heart so there's always a little concern about the outcome.  I usually get a bit emotional at these times so this poem is an attempt to take a piece of my heart and share it with you, my fellow poets who also follow their hearts.
Hello Prolly Mar 2019
I appreciate you share
can see what you can see
and maybe grasp your bits I dare

Yet got a dream, pics I foresee
about swimming, flowers
meanders and sea.

They are bold and they are bright
free to unfold for someone
who’s in need for some more light

let us try brave resolve
till tongues untwisted
doing the ritual whisp
where found its rhythm in the breeze --
cocked back like a hammer
cutting through the silence
was the creaking of an open palm.

would you like to go for a swim?
it is cold and it is dark
but parts of us dispersed
across the eavesdropping tide
makes for a wonderful place to drown.

...

a secret is like a burden,
when it is shared, it is halved.
i'd love it if we made it
