She prepares her kit
To turn into someone else
She's done this for years
Not knowing how to be herself

She smears her lips
With a bright bold Mac
Drawing an artificial smile
Hoping she wont crack

She grabs her eyeliner
And traces her eyes
As strokes of mascara
Send lashes toward the sky

She dips herself in powder
And draws two circles for blush
She irons her natural hair
With every bristle and brush

With this new mask on
She could now face the world
Yet I still wonder
Will I ever meet the real side of this girl?
Simplicity is beauty.

Run, hide, cover your eyes,
Won't you play the game?
One, two, three, four,
Don't you try to peek.

Listen hard, in the dark,
Five, six, seven,
Listen for the screams of fear,
The rumbling of the earth.

Feel the world crashing down,
Eight, nine, and ten,
The concrete crumbling into dust,
The crushing of the bones.

Breathe it in, breathe it clear,
Eleven, twelve, thirteen,
The smell of fire and smoldering embers,
Dangerously near.

Open your mouth, let it free,
Fourteen, fifteen, sixteen,
Let the shrieks of pain and sadness,
Rip away from your throat.

Don't uncover your eyes,
Keep your hands over your face,
*"It will protect you my dear,
From the anxiety and the fear."

To be able to breathe
After a long time of holding it

Yes...

To fill your lungs with air
Letting it reach the farthest parts of your body

To laugh
And not suppress it even a bit

To desire
As a child does

To be in awe of nature
Like a blind who sees

To write a poem
Allowing words to drown your heart

To be given a lasting joy
By a crippled man with a big smile

To long for an adventure
Letting youthful vigor take over

To not be afraid of change
Knowing it is natural

To enjoy things
As simple as the cold wind that touches your face

To appreciate
Even the most common things

To share
And share..and share...and share

To love with all your heart
Without asking anything in return

You deserve the universe,
And to bask and glow,
Your skin white as snow,
In the gold of the sun.

You deserve the stars,
And to shine and gleam,
With your life a dream,
In the splendour of the sky.

You deserve better,
And to wake each day,
Knowing you're alright,
You're okay.

You were born with thunder rumbling from between your lips.
Your words were learned to be feared.
the promise of being trapped in the rain was too frightening for anyone to listen.

You were a flower that had begun to wilt,
covered by the shade of those towering above you,
and when they stole the last ray of light,
you learned to become your own sun.

Lightning shown in your golden-brown eyes.
Fierceness and a refusal to take any odds into consideration.
You struck hearts into beating again,
you struck minds into thinking again.

Your soul is a flood raging over hills. You are washing down every crevice of the world;
drowning and sweeping away things that will never measure to your strength.

You are a Californian wildfire.
Beautifully destructive and distinctively fearless.
You are crackling heat in valleys where thirst will never be quenched.
Don't be offended when they turn away,
some people just can't take the heat.

You have grown into a refusal to let the natural disasters inside of you sit still.
You have taken every ounce of nothingness that you felt and turned it into a brewing storm.
We will hear that thunder rolling from your lips this time.

Sonnets were written about your icy smile years before you were born.
Poets know the beauty of a powerful earthquake that could send cities crumbling,

Everyone knows the beauty of a powerful woman that can send worlds crumbling.

At the beginning we were like a tree
Strong, natural, beautiful completed
Unity.
Now we are like a feeble branch,
Broken under the pressure of circumstance.
There is no life here anymore.

you're my superman and my kryptonite, baby, lets fly away...
we don't have to stay...
it always ends this way...
fading from emerald green to grey...
your eyes glow red with a murderous light...
giving me a sudden fright...
i see your demon soul and demon eyes...
i don't know if it's fake or if it's actual...
because, baby, you're supernatural...
how can you pick me up and then drop me...
maybe that part was just in my dreams...
pick me up and hold me close...
i don't care if it kills me so...
bring it on...
before you fly away and are gone...
maybe I've watched too much supernatural...

There were those things
By which we had naturally
Without someone teaching us
Words just rhyme unintentionally

They came to our hand
And then, there we came writing
I believe they came from a Being
I ll those things - natural gifts

In which I am thankful for

Contemplate with sincerity,
Look with the eye of wisdom,
For the details,
And the creation,
Of this world,
Is superior to human intelligence,
And definitely,
Would take one's breath away.
