It sways in and out of my thoughts.
Like a fall leaf on a slim tree limb.
Decisive on weather it should just
hold on or let go.
Risk the drop,
or cling onto the only thing it's known.
I am a leaf and you are my rugged branch.
You were my stronghold for a while,
but now I want to taste the wind!
So, sadly, I must let go of us.
I must learn to fall a little
if I ever want to rise.
Let the wind take me places I've never been before.

I wish all of my bad memories were like the leaves on the trees
after holding onto my weary branches
they fall and wither around me
until someone comes and takes them away

After you’ve ran with green through knowing frantic summer strength
you fall,
in going home rain,
with all the land in the world.

Your heart has been broken
just like a leaf which fell down from it's tree,
It wasn't intended and
neither did you ever thought of it,
But for something new to come old must go and
when one doesn't go ,
Often -
It's forcefully detached.

the wind takes
the burnished leaf
with masterful hand
imprints the fall
sweet cream on my lips
burnt autumn on my tongue

Yesterday I
opened my old
poetry book, when
I found a pressed
autumn leaf.
Its fragrance took
me back in time,
back in that cold rainy day
Then I was so young
and beautiful
when it got caught in
my hair by the
mischievous wind,
bathed in sky's tears.
But now it's dried
And it will never
be as it was before.
Just like me...
Today i really did find an old autumn leaf pressed in my old poetry book. It brought back so many memories.
Good times...

Even the leaf was once beautiful

Until it fell of from its tree,

It was once full of life and zest

But now it just lies on the ground

Shredding piece by piece

If I were but a falling leaf, I wouldn't care for anything.

My life would be played out on the breeze, and falling short would not be such a shame.

If I were but a falling leaf.

I'd leave my parents lengthy tree, and fall to the ground, yes I would leave.

And during the fall I would flutter with glee, as I descended down, and just before I hit the earth, I'd look up to the sky and see.

If I were but a falling leaf.

I would mold my edges to catch the wind, and drift upon the gusts of change, most happily.

If I were but a fallen leaf.

I would greet the Earth upon the ground, and curl my corners to the sky, to soak the rain and drink so deep.

If I were but an autumn leaf.

The sound of the wind would not mean change. But that another journey has just begun, and that I and the journey are one and the same.

If I were to fall like an Autumn leaf.
I hope that I would be the same.
Written on a bench. On a lunch break. And in earnest.

a rose?
well that is something that i am not.
i am not admired by many
and adored by even more.
people do not gravitate towards me
because of my cliche aspect of beauty.
one does not view me as one of the most
d i v e r s e
signs of
beauty
love
or even grace.
both striking and beautiful,
she has many thorns and ******
that can cut you
and make you bleed.

me?
instead of all that,
i am a leaf.
ordinary, that i am.
and very much overlooked.
often ignored and underestimated.
your eyes do not adhere to my exclusive version
of beauty.
i can't hurt you,
or at least not as much.
i am not made up of thorns
that could easily nip you
and your fragile skin.
and even tho she,
rose,
has many ****** and thorns
that has ample enough chances to cut you,
you still choose it over me.

A pastel droplet
Against the verdant green leaves
Autumn is coming.
