We have that easy, lazy kind of love.
That sleep in late and wake up gently
     to morning kisses kind of love.
A love so simple and genuine
there's no effort involved at all, really.
                        It just is.
I knew from the very start
we were something special, baby,
when your slow smile reached out
to take hold of my heart,
no trying needed.
                       And we just were.
And now, now baby,
we have that beautiful love,
     that lazy kind of love.
And it's sitting together for
     a cup of morning coffee,
And little reminders of affection
     left for surprise.
It's the slow breath in
     after the content sigh
     following a deep kiss in the rain.
And never wanting to leave,
     always returning for
     just one more.
We have that easy love,
     the carefree kind of love.
                      And it just is.
This poem was inspired by a line from another poet, J. Raymond, whom I follow on Instagram. The "lazy love" concept is his, I just took it to heart with my own relationship.

I'm sorry I ever told you I loved you.

Not because it is not the truth.

But because I'm only saying what we both know is true.

The first night I said it was late on the phone.

I was scared for what you would put yourself through.

I said it to you tears audible in my tone.

Three words that mean so much, yet never enough.

I gave myself completely to you

My cards turned outwards for you to call my bluff

You only once returned those words towards me.

But now you deny that,

Water from my eyes for all to see.

I wish you never said those words "I love you"

I could see it in your eyes, each one a galaxy.

Some Words are more overrated than the color blue

I said it once,  from there now i overused

Conversing now lazy because "I love you"

No more amoret or hazel, three words now I abused

Because I said those words this is difficult.

I became who I swore not to be.

In modesty never now alone's the result.

Love is tender, love is kind;
Love is splendid and divine;
Love is raw yet very sweet
Save it’s with a dead beat.

You’re not from fairytales—
No, you set your own sails.
While I work to pay the bills,
That is just how cupid kills.

I’m madly in love, I swear
Caught up in this love affair—
I don’t care if it’s no good for me
Just one will make it work, you’ll see.

You make my heart go crazy,
So who cares if you’re lazy?
We’ll prove the world wrong, I bet;
On that I have my heart set.

Love is hopeless, love is blind;
Love makes victims lose their mind;
Love wins, to one’s defeat
When it’s with a dead beat.
Snoozing quietly on a sunny day,
with eyes half closed, breathing relaxed,
listening to the sounds the sun brings out.
Children screaming with play, lawn mowers cutting,
bees buzzing and singing birds.

Languidly lost in time bemused at the thoughts
running free in my mind. I start to muse on
ridiculous things:
Why liquid soap?
Why a date of birth but no date of death? (That would be helpful like a use by date on food, fit in that bucket list or miss your deadline)

Why do ice lollies only come in packs of three like condoms?
Why are children so ultimately free?
Why does the sun make us feel so safe?
Why does road rage come out in the sun?
Why do we insist on eating burnt carcasses and underdone chicken?
At barbecues that take forever to organise with people you'd rather flail alive?

Deep in thought; contemplative.

Contemplation; meditation. A product of contemplation; a thought. "an elegant tapestry of quotations, musings, aphorisms, and autobiographical reflections" (James Atlas).

Dante's Purgatorio he had portrayed the penance for acedia (sloth/listlessness) as running continuously at top speed.

Coming dangerously close to the edges of humanity.

Eternal life forever questioned.

Look through the darkest hole.

Lazy eyes find nothing at all.

Abundant life lies beneath the surface.

Recurring dreams guide only the willing.

Dominate beings succumb to death.

Openly inviting others to join in.

Optimism gets you nowhere.

Rightful places are never known.
