Oh look!
A tree!
It's beautiful!
Nature!
Green!
The breeze blows!
Look at those leaves!
Look at the beauty of God's work!
The magnificence!
The wood!
The fruit!
The flower!
The knothole!
The...gum?
There's gum in the knothole?
There IS gum in the knothole!
Doublemint!
Pennies and figurines too!
Who would do such a nice act?
Oh...
Right...
Him...
The one hidden within.
He must really be misunderstood.
I wish we could meet him
So we would know the real him.
In memory of Harper Lee,  I wrote a poem inspired by her Pulitzer Prize winning novel "To **** a Mockingbird". R.I.P. Harper Lee

hindi ako bubble gum
na iyong hahanapin
kapag ika'y nababagot sa kahihintay
na matapos ang iyong klase.

hindi ako bubble gum
na iyong pampalipas-gutom
sa kumakalam **** tiyan
na naghahangad na makatikim
ng pagkaing bubuhay sa iyong kalam'nan.

hindi ako bubble gum
na kaya **** paikut-ikutin
gamit ang iyong dilang mapanlinlang
na nagsasabing ako'y iyong minahal.

hindi ako bubble gum
na iyong iluluwa
matapos **** simutin ang lasang
iyong ninanais na makamtan.

at higit sa lahat,
hindi ako bubble gum
na iyong hahanapin
kapag ika'y naghahanap ng panandaliang tamis
sa mapait nating mundo.
first filipino poem i'll be posting here. trying myself if this works out as spoken word but it's kinda too short.

Chew that gum,
Flick that wrist,
And be that bratty little princess,
That nobody wants to kiss,
Oh, Prince Charming?
He's hoppin' on his horse,
Riding to the sunset,
To get away from you,
So shut your face,
Chew your gum,
And be a ******* diva,
Wearing that ******* crown.

We stand at the edge of the parking lot
my child like hands wrapped tightly around your first ******* with your thumb resting on my hand
Like a promise that couldn't ever be broken
A promise that you would always wear a cape
So you could rescue me from all of my demons
But step by step
Your cape became tattered
your grip began to loosen
I keep trying to hold on tighter reaching for your other *******
that have never seemed so far away
until now
The promises you once held in the palm of you hands
freely  handing them out as if they were breathe mints
begin to lose power
The mint begins to fade just like the gum from a quarter machine looses its flavor just moments after touching your tongue
but I try to hold on to each one
hoping that someday the flavor will comeback
hoping that the thread in your cape will be sewn back together with miracles from angels above
I hang on tighter
Calling each night
just to remind you of how much I adore you
using all of the chewed up gum ***** to hold on to your fingers together
Repeating all of the promises in my mind
Screaming "Some day"
But your hair has begun to turn grey
and wrinkles have begun to crawl across your face
your hands begin to become fragile
but I refuse to let go
Empty promises stack on the shelf
like ***** dishes in the sink
as if reminders of what it used be like at the edge of the parking lot
When I held your first *******
your thumb resting on my hand
and you wore a cape

Love is like a chewing gum
At first it taste so sweet
But as you chew it
It is becoming tasteless

I Chew...Chew...Chew
Keep Focus On My Gum
I Chew...Chew...Chew
Don't Want To Bite My Tongue

Can't Walk and Chew
All At The Same Time
I Chew...Chew...Chew
The Sweetness Its All Mine
I've bitten my tongue many times when chewing gum...lol :)

took my hand pulled me into a room
where moms and dads danced to the cure
leaned me against the wall and the neon glow was harsh
bent my back against the edge, and leaned in with an orbit gum whisper
‘do you want to get out of here?’

This town is crumbling.
With dust turning into ashes.
A judgmental life built
to the apparent lackluster rhyme.

Trembling lips, forced proximity.
Eyes on fire, the vile toxicity.

Trouble.
A simple motto to live by...
Mockery of shared stupidity.
Continually circling
to the timeless tune
of a love struck fool.

A fool, within the rubble.
A fool of love, scavenging for a heart.
A love-sick-fool, standing with empty arms.

Love, it can't be held together with gum found on the bottom of a shoe.
Nor can it survive with lies told by you.

Gum
Hold me and tell your tales of gore.
Kiss me 'till my lips are sore.
Passion's run our veins out dry.
But I'm much too blind to consider why.

I crave your bruises on my neck.
Screaming, but we're not done.
Two denim lovers, hearts a wreck.
Pumping 'till we both hum.

Attached at the tongue you say?
I'd only ever ride that way.

Drag me across the floor and then
Kiss me all over again.
Leave no question marks this time as you pull my skin in synchronizing rhymes.

Kiss me like the wars are done.
Kiss me 'till we both feel numb.
Kiss me 'till we both taste blood and stars dance behind our eyes.

Don't leave my side 'till you decide my fire's best left replenished.
Once our time's done, and my neck is hung, you can carry on with your fetish.

Love me then leave me
Lonely, cold on the street.
Sick and dumb,
Just another discarded piece of gum.
