I would pull stars from the sky
Swim the deepest ocean blue
If it gave me just a little piece
of more time spent with you

Do you want me to slay dragons
Beneath the mountain high
In order to spend time with you
or just pull stars from the sky?

Whatever it takes to win your heart
That's all you have to ask
Whatever it takes to win your heart
Just give me a new task
Whatever it takes to win your heart
I'll sail the ocean blue
Whatever it takes to win your heart
I'd do it all for you

How high, how much
How many, how low
just tell me and I'll do
I'll spin straw into gold
just to spend more time with you

how fast, how far
how quick, how slow
ask me something new
i'll make diamond out of chunks of coal
just to spend more time with you

Whatever it takes to win your heart
That's all you have to ask
Whatever it takes to win your heart
Just give me a new task
Whatever it takes to win your heart
I'll sail the ocean blue
Whatever it takes to win your heart
I'd do it all for you

I'll catch a star from the night sky
I'll navigate the seas
I'll go on an adventure
If you'll spend your life with me

I'll climb the highest mountain
I'll fly into the sun
Whatever it takes to win your heart
And hear that I'm your only one

Whatever it takes to win your heart
That's all you have to ask
Whatever it takes to win your heart
Just give me a new task
Whatever it takes to win your heart
I'll sail the ocean blue
Whatever it takes to win your heart
I'd do it all for you

I had always told you I will always love you
Even longer than you promised to love me.
You said you loved me more than the sun does the moon,
But my love had depth greater than the sea.

You said you'd love me for more days
Than there were stars in the night sky.
And I said I'd love you a trillion more days
After the instant you were to die.

My heart had brought me to the final conclusion
That you and I will be together.
But the thoughts in my mind reminded me
That there isn't a thing that lasts forever.

I wish to let go of these haunting truths
So there isn't a day we would be apart,
But you never understood me well enough to know
I think with my mind & not with the heart.

i learned something baby
by stepping out on you
i found your friend would do the things
you just wouldn't do

dinner, drinks and dancing
I was stepping out on you
In the end I found out why
I'm in love with only you

I vowed to love you over no one else
Our love was stale and stuck up on the shelf
I had to re ignite it, remember just why I love you
And the way I found out was, By Stepping out on you

I learned just what it was
that made me fall for you
I remembered all those things
by stepping out on you

I vowed to love you over no one else
Our love was stale and stuck up on the shelf
I had to re ignite it, remember just why I love you
And the way I found out was, By Stepping out on you

I've got to tell you baby
I love all that you do
I learned just why I love you
By stepping out on you
I learned just why I love you
by stepping out on you

Gates and boards and reels of wire
Garbage by the gates
Driveway overgrown with grass
The factory is a state

Security checks once an hour
To make sure all's still locked
Another business shut it's door
the economy was rocked

Another workplace bites the dust
Another one shuts down
To find the business district here
You've got to leave the town

They're closing up 'bout one a month
Jobs are leaving by the score
When you leave, turn out the lights
And please folks, lock the door

Work is leaving faster than
It has ever in the past
There's more folks on assistance
How long will this all last?

Fifty years a hundred ten
Factories closing shop
There's more buildings that are vacant
Our growth came to a stop

It doesn't matter where you go
It's all the bottom line
If they can do it cheaper
Then out goes the "CLOSING" sign

It all comes down to profit
You're a number not a name
It doesn't matter where you go
Plant closure is the game

Another workplace bites the dust
Another one shuts down
To find the business district here
You've got to leave the town

They're closing up 'bout one a month
Jobs are leaving by the score
When you leave, turn out the lights
And please folks, lock the door

I'll wait for you forever
till stars forget to shine,
and oceans become puddles,
words no longer rhyme

Till deserts turn to gardens
where flowers go to bloom,
the grass is red, the skies are green,
the dawn brings out the moon

Till rain is something very dry
and butterflies drive trucks,
when every pond is chocolate sauce
with candy coated ducks

Till basements have a penthouse view
with windows three floors high
and stairways are a place to swim
no matter how you fly

Till mountains are a level path
that you will go to walk
and silence now becomes a way
for every one to talk

Till everything we've ever known
is gone and disappeared
The world does end, there's nothing more
just like we always feared

Till broken hearts are happy,
tears a welcome site
Night comes at the break of day
and daytime looks like night

I'll wait for you forever
until the end of time
It matters not how long it takes
if I can call you mine

Jealousy lives in our ribs
And it doesn't matter that it's caged in
It whispers to your heart
The things it fears the most

I'm a rocker who likes country
But lately what I find
is that whatever I am hearing
turns to foggy mountain breakdown
in my mind

I listen to Nirvana
And I love to hear it fuzz
But right now Dave Grohl's music
has got foggy mountain breakdown
kind of buzz

Someone saved my life tonight
Elton, don't you know
That right now when I hear it
it's got a foggy mountain breakdown
old banjo

Rock and Roll forever
That's always been my line
But now it doesn't matter
there's a foggy mountain breakdown
it sure don't sound like Motown
there's a foggy mountain breakdown
in my mind

The day was brighter here. Underneath these oak trees. They shaded me from the sun above. I sat against the tree and remembered an old song I once wrote. I sang in my head the melody I once wrote and all of a sudden the melody forked into another sound. A new song within my old one. I took it to new heights. New lyrics were being sung to my ears by ghost of the Light and shadow. This is the edge of heaven. I know it now. I am afraid to leave. And I am afraid to stay.. strange creatures started to come out of the forest.. butterflies with wings of light started to flutter on by.. I saw my old dog prince. The night slowly made love to the day... The stars peaked at me through the trees.. the air was cool and crisp.. a naked angel walked through the woods. She could not see me.. she was by far the most beautiful being I had ever scene.. the moon light kissed her body and left me in trance..
So begins the second life...

Equality For All

Why do you despise
Those who must fight to survive
In our lands
The lands of the free
Those who walk the cracked concrete streets
High on the cannabis ****
The dull glaze in their eyes
No will to survive
No hope, no future in sight
Hispanic and black and *** country white
Painted with the same ***** brush
Their only crime is the place they were born
Born on the wrong side of the track
But they to have rights
Be they black brown or white
They to have voices to be heard
You live in your big house
With untold wealth
The taxman to defraud
Fancy car and swimming pool
A room filled with fancy shoes
Yes shoes never worn more than once
Then left there on the shelf
You write a cheque for a million dollars
But never give a thought
For those on the other side of the track
Down trodden whites, Hispanics
And the un educated blacks

*yes, our lands, the lands of the free
All to often we call upon them to serve and die for us but still all to often treat them as second class citizens

The civil war's not over
The sides are re-arranged
Those who once were allies
Now, they are estranged
The uniforms don't matter
It's now the colour of their skin
That's put the country back
To when the trouble did begin

Slavery abolished?
Have you looked outside your door?
Just take some time and ask yourself
Just who you're working for
The civil war's not over
It didn't ever end
Just watch your local nightly news
and see it's continuing my friend

America is burning
The flames are getting higher
The country's feeding on itself
Throw more fuel on the fire
Ferguson and Baltimore
are the start of the new pyre
America is burning
Throw more fuel on the fire

One percent to ninety nine
That's slavery to me
It's not just racial segregation
There's more than that to see
The civil war's not over
It's continued rolling on
It will stay there in the background
It's the country's most successful con

Johnny comes marching home again...hurrah, hurrah
Johnny comes marching home again...hurrah, hurrah
The country will be burning when he comes
From a war where no one really won
As another town burns, for all the world to see

There is no more
civil war
it's changed from days gone by
You can not have a
civil war
no matter how you try

Rules of the engagement
done and dusted
all forgot
now Rules of engagement mean
you give it
all you got

Armies lined up on the field
civil war, I'd say
Now, you push a button
and **** from
ten time zones away

Pleasantries forgotten
War's not civil
anymore
With all of our
progression, we forgot how
to have a civil war
