An integral trait
that protected and built
in her, withers.
Curses slowly slithers
off her tongue
leaving her soul stung,
for she swore never to say
on any day.

Reputation tarnished;
label faded;
mind polluted,
for she no longer felt demure
and pure.

Enticed by the modern world;
contamination injects,
mutating and leaving her
not able to recognize herself.
For now she stares in the
restroom mirror,
shedding tears
over her shedding skin.

Chocolate flowed right from his lips.
Dripping down the dampened ships.
My tongue awakened.
My bones they ached and,
the melted chocolate, still it drips.
someone tell me why I’m writing so much about chocolate...I think it’s since it’s Valentine’s Day tomorrow. I’ve eaten so many fine chocolates, they remind me of emotions. They’re addictive.

she stuck her tongue out
she is so beautiful
we push her

Being, behind the words
Feels a sublime ease
With a calm memory
A sense of being alive
In no Man’s land
Subscribing a new world order
With a sacred realm
Encrypted hope
Where,
The soul speaks
The Heart listens
An Ancient script,
In a native tongue

Don’t get it, Regardless?
A native tongue,
Same syllable,
Stammer astray

Misspelled, misunderstood
Those celestial pieces
Being, gracefully rude
Phenomenal,
All in Innocence.
Words with hope.  Shared from my Anthology, Canvas: Echoes and Reflections. 2018.

Your tongue like a knife
carved into me,
digging deeper and deeper
with every jab.
Taking the most important pieces,
my heart, my lungs, my mind,
holding them for ransom
until there was nothing left for me to give,
you had my everything.

The best whiskey goes down
smooth as the silky tongue
of a curvaceous young woman.
There are times when we desire
sips from brands known to bite
the back of the throat
with the gratifying sting
of fingernails dug in
between our shoulder blades.
Funny how the sensations
of pleasure and pain
have more in common
than we realize.

lying is forcing back the ‘i love you’s on my tongue like im closing my eyes so hard i can only see black
it’s feeling the giddiness of admiration and love for you and telling you i hate you
it’s empty insults laced with adoration that i hope you won’t notice
my love has become a lie again

it has been pushed far back and it’s reaching out again, hoping you’ll see it

i want to believe there will be a time for my love to be free
when i can love you with my entire self and you will want that too

but for now it’s hiding
for now it’s pain
for now it’s pretending

for now-

it’s lying

the golden hour often comes when we least expect it
but we pay it no attention and proceed
unaware and naive

i wake up more often than not with a sore tongue
sore from having to keep my mouth shut for so long
for even a single word can ruin so much of what i have

i feel the safest enclosed in a white box
enclosed in a larger box in the middle of the city
where the previous cannot find me

but eventually, sore feet drag me back to the place i dread the most

"welcome home."
