Under, under, under the sea
Under the sea
Oops, I meant under the sky
But it's all the same
I'm happy and free
The sky will melt into the sea if it must
I'm under the sea, under the sea
Because when the rain falls down
My hair will be matted and wet
Water will cover the ground it met
Just like under the sea, under the sea
And when a warm current flows on my face
I'll feel the heat
Like the sun I'm beneath
The fish with their open mouths
They'll remind me of the people I see
Walking among the trees
Then throughout the day,
I'll close my eyes and forget to breathe
Like I'm under the sea, under the sea
And long after when time runs by me
When I haven't felt a single breeze
I'll wonder if I'm really under the sky
But for now since I'm filled with glee
I'll just pretend that I'm under the sea, under the sea

The Receptionist's counter is too close to the forever waiting room.
The Nexts are trying their patient penances;
Some seem to read;
Others appear to listen to the television;
There's no dialogue,
Except for the Dr.'s assistant,
And, the Receptionist.
Any conversation would be idle,  and not heard anyway.
They sit on pins, listening for their names.
Super Tuesday held no kryptonite for Super Joe, remarked the talking head.

The Dr. will see you in three years.
I fist pump and spin to leave,
Seeing a blur of corralled, bowed, preoccupied heads.
A frail face lifted up, and smiled for me.
Happy for me.
Truly the best medicine.

Your smile makes my mind go wild.
I got into a relationship AND SHE IS SO ******* PRETTY *** SOMEBODY HELP ME

I saw the sky today at 6:34 am.
Blue and endearing.
Begging me to smile.
So how could I not?
Spring is returning.
Put in an extra effort and smile at everyone you meet today.
For we all know, a simple smile can do so very much for a person.

Those tears from sad eyes
They can’t last forever
Someday the sun will come out
The warmth will free your lips
And that smile will grace the world again

Let's make a happy day
one you're sure to remember;
first, you must learn to play
the game of life with splendor.
The mind can't be a fool
and be very one-sided,
to focus on the cruel
is a little misguided.

Second, you are willing
to let yourself just unwind,
nice times are still fulfilling
in a good state of mind.
Leave worry for after
because one day isn't much,
loads of good and laughter
is an excellent touch.

Third and last, be comfy
go somewhere that you'd enjoy,
maybe get a buddy
or someone that won't annoy.
And that's a happy day,
a list to its very core,
but it's harder to be done;
if no guidelines are ignored
there will be assured fun!
I felt happy today and I wanted to make a poem that reflected that.

1950s kindergarten
cute, dark-haired girl
in jumper dress,
bright-red tights,
walking towards me
smiling...

I run away with sweaty hands...

don't
believe in fate or luck,
never won no lottery,
even the next word of
every poem word, product of hard earned
stolen lust affairs

me desiring,
of acquiring
the infamy
of saying it & making you believe it,
all new (ha!)
while reusing worn-out words,
stolen from unknown predecessors,
lovers and prophets

but then, read you,
a-believing now that only princesses
may have the magic powers to do,
to sense, the incongruence,
of the most ordinary lives,
the ways we-hide-in-our-underbellies,
the faces of our elven selves,
that we are desperate to see anew,
without the blemishing scars of experience
writing it morning fresh from dream filled sleep

so my sinner summer sun dying requests
you to be reminded:
even a prince, only has just so many
golden opportunities,
so quit stalling,
shoot out your next from your
handgun mind

yup, no luck, good fate, for me
held in abeyance for
the next first date, maybe

as I write
Katy Perry
is ear-worming in my head,
ignite the light!

do you see us
awaiting in the shadows
for the definition of your words?
