i recently tried writing you a poem and partially succeed.

but then I thought, it wasn’t sincere enough, you wouldn’t believe it.

i don’t want to write something I can easily just tell you aloud.

i want to write something that i can’t.
something that can only be expressed in written words better than said.
something to look back when I want you to feel that.

i want to write something that’ll make you feel something rather than know.
like seeing is believing, that’s what those feelings are for.

i rather not tell, it’s better for me to show.

sure there are words, but actions are worth much more.

A graceful water weaving dolphin
swirls wakes of gentle waves -
a white, silver blue phantom
shimmering in the noonday sun.

Piercing the surface,
she dances an aquatic ballet
of corkscrew pirouettes
and majestic somersaults.

Diving beneath the spray
she churns her engine upward -
soaring through the flaming hoop
to the "oohs" and applause
of a throng of short-sleeved hominids
bleachered beyond the rails.

Plunging into quiet depths,
she lingers for a moment
perhaps to recall the fresh sea air
and the borderless waters
in the golden days before the ships came.

How am I supposed to believe that you love me?
If you never ever catch my attention
If you never talk to me most of the time
If you never showed it?

How am I supposed to believe the three words you said?
I guess you're just good in saying "I love you"

I've got a **** right there between my legs
It hangs and grows like another ***** might
It's a shame the reality goes over your head
I **** sometimes like a **** truck punching
On all cylinders, I **** sometimes lying
With legs open wanting and exposed
I've got a **** right there between my legs
It hangs and grows like any **** does
It's a shame reality goes right over your head
I altered my consciousness.
I altered my brain.
I altered my hormones.
My testosterone's gone.
My estrogen's over ******* full.
Call me what you want but
My experience is beyond.
Beyond.

You inspire me to keep writing.
You inspire me to continue fighting for what "I" belive in.
You make me want to prove you wrong.
To show you I'm so much more than a torn page in a book.
To show you everything I do doesn't come from a dark place.
What I listen to, what I write & what I say. You belive it comes from an evil place.

Why?

Welcome to the freak show
The freakier the better
For all who come never go

Ladies of great strength
Men of half the normal size
Performances at length

Come during the day
Beware of the night
For you might over welcome your stay

Welcome to the freak show
You'll never get away

When I’m looking in your eyes sometimes it’s hard to look away

Because I’m think of the life we could have had, that I dream of someday

But when I see her standing in the light it’s hard to watch the show

One day the curtain will close and I will have to go

I said to you the words he didn't say.
I did all the things he didn't do
Every day I told you how beautiful you are
I reminded you how special you are
Yet I still don't measure up

“day one;
a baby-faced image stared back at him, full of youth and life. he swallowed hard.

day two;
the thoughts that plagued his mind were too hard to forget. he smiled down at her, a strained sort of feeling.

day three;
he thought he’d be able to forget.
boy, was he wrong.
he smiled, a jagged sort and walked down the hall.

day four;
his fingers trembled. it wasn’t long before he went scavenging for things to make him feel numb.

day five;
he’d come home, blurry-eyed and high on bittersweet memories.
boy, was it hard.

day six;
pacing in the flat. back and fourth, back and fourth.
trembling hands, clenched in fists, white knuckles adorned with red.

day seven;
he brushed back her hair, kissed the top of her head and locked the door.

day eight;
he caught his mother on the floor. she hunched in the dark, with agonizing pressure over her shoulders. she wailed.

day nine;
to hell with them.

day ten;
was the day he was dreading. we’ll knock down the door, they said. his mother left it to swing ajar. he held her behind him. “to hell with them,” he’d say. she hugged his torso. his mother screamed. in the second he looked away, she was gone.

day eleven;
he sobbed. no matter how high he could get, the pain wasn’t going away. ecstasy was no more. “may we meet again,” she said. the door closed behind her.
he opened his hand. he clutched a ribbon of red silk. “may we meet again.”

Gem
I was a gem trapped in stone
You failed to see me by who I really am
You gave up though you tried
To show the world to me
And me to the world.

Now I'm a gem on a marvelous ring
I wish someone has tried before you
I wish you were the one who finally
Showed the world to me
And me to the world.
