"Hi Children,"

She turns, mystically endowed with a sense of something greater still.

"Please enjoy this story, it is old and foretold without a soul to behold."

"Darkness is a place, fewer men know still"

"Where shadows are lonely and vicarious, tilted visions of sorrow"

"My darling"

She points to a small child in the front row, a girl seemingly clueless to the world around her.

"The arrow bends beneath the snow but life it takes for me to grow"

All the children are now listening.

"I've place the bets, and now I know"

"The darkness seeks another reef to hallow its only begotten dream"

They know it now, you know..The ending. They grew up beside each other, fighting each other, loving each other. Someday you will realize all of the reasons why you surrendered. Why you chose to caress a care that spoke of there being something....

greater.

how do you know
how can you tell
is it something you want
can you tell by the smell
are you willing to take on
a mission this vast
you have to be ready
you have to be fast
what is it really
why is it there
we really don't know
and really don't care
these words are just jibberish
and don't mean a thing
they're there for a reason
and that is word bling....

Well I though a little word bling would brighten everyone’s day...

Your language is dreamy
And your thoughts are gleamy
But why should I read them
Might my eyes fall upon some more desirable emblem?
No I read another poem
For they are all handsome
And I might get a crumb
From those who know how to write a poem.
Wonderful to read what ya'll write!

Il pleure dans mon coeur (“It rains in my heart”)
by Paul Verlaine
loose translation/interpretation by Michael R. Burch

It rains in my heart
As it rains on the town;
Heavy languor and dark
Drenches my heart.

Oh, the sweet-sounding rain
Cleansing pavements and roofs!
For my listless heart's pain
The pure song of the rain!

Still it rains without reason
In my overcast heart.
Can it be there's no treason?
That this grief's without reason?

As my heart floods with pain,
Lacking hatred, or love,
I've no way to explain
Such bewildering pain!

Ophélie (“Ophelia”), an Excerpt
by Arthur Rimbaud
loose translation/interpretation by Michael R. Burch

On pitiless black waves unsinking stars abide
... while pale Ophelia, a lethargic lily, drifts by ...
Here, tangled in her veils, she floats on the tide ...
Far-off, in the woods, we hear the strident bugle’s cry.

For a thousand years, or more, sad Ophelia,
This albescent phantom, has rocked here, to and fro.
For a thousand years, or more, in her gentle folly,
Ophelia has rocked here when the night breezes blow.

For a thousand years, or more, sad Ophelia,
Has passed, an albescent phantom, down this long black river.
For a thousand years, or more, in her sweet madness
Ophelia has made this river shiver.

Hope springs eternal for those who've never
endured a wet candle wick.
Extinguished,
never anguished.
Relentless is the faith that hopes to light it.
Reason is the trust that it never will.
Yours is dry and darkened
but never dampened.
Your hope springs eternal as you only need to find the light.

I’m completely fine,
because when I said that I was not,

they responded with,
"You can’t be sad, just look at what you’ve got."

All they did was doubt,
they said,

"You don’t have anything to be sad about."

they said,

"Just look at all the friends you have,
and family around."

that only made me sadder;
do I need a reason to break down?
You don't have to live a depressing life to be depressed.

My little
Happy reason
Nothing pitiful
In this season
Running in the meadow
Just going with the flow

Little butterfly
Flying by
My closed window
Then a little show
Starts to play
In my head

One made up
Only playing for me
Some parts reality
Other parts dreams and what's up
Then it's what's down
Then it's what's right
Then it's all that's left

But hey
I've got reasons to stay
In the fields of grass and earth
Or seated by the hearth
Soaking up the warmth
From the sun or fire
Wishing it were from a person
One in particular
But that's alright
I can dream
I can dance in a moonbeam
Under the starlight
Where my soul shines bright

Sing to your heart to find you
It calls to
One such as yourself
So search for it
Not just for a bit
Search for your happy reason.

Was looking through my words, and picked two words next to each other for a title. Poem is based on the title.

Fun little things, words are.

Everyone has to live
before knowing the reason why
And everyone has to die
while thriving to stay alive for one more time
The pursuit for happiness all life long
ignoring all the hysterical emotions
Whatever keeps happening
have the hunger for one more
Because whatever may the reason to be
Know that nothing lasts FOREVER!!!

A thousand reasons I should go
I should leave you behind
Know it's unhealthy
The way
I am unable to get you out of my mind

Believe when I tell you
In moments I could disappear
Wouldn't see me anymore
If so but I'd still be near

We are soulmates I am positive
Am drawn to your energy
Love is what we share
Friends is what we'll always be

Regardless of what happens between us
Always want to be part of your life
Are meant to be together somehow
Even if not as husband and wife

We will be there for each other
As lovers or best friends
Til the entire universe implodes
Time itself meets it's end

You will always have a place in my bed
As well as a place in my heart
You'll always be my first choice
Even if you decide to depart

The cruel reality of life and love
Is sometimes it doesn't work
It is tragic but if you care too much
Often you'll end up getting hurt

Something creates chasms between us
Drugs
Family
Or maybe thoughts
So tired of getting my heart broken
Just attempting to connect the dots

Consumed by dumb insecurity
Troubling my true perception
Causing me to worry about
You
Your possible deception

My fear drives a wedge between
As a result I only accuse
Both want to wipe slates clean
Tried but what is the use?

To keep living like this is madness
Punishing our hearts with pain
Friends warn me to be careful
All think I'm insane

Some might label me stupid
Foolish and naive
Just because I tolerate your *******
Does not mean that I believe

Different excuse each time you call
Letting me know you've let me down
You disappoint me over and over
Love is the reason I stay around
If you've been in love you get it
