I turn the music on
And the lights off
I try to write a poem
My ink lights up on the wall

Finally silence in my brain
I take moments away
To remove the ceiling and dive into the ocean above

Wind replaces the fan
Leaves fall on my bed
Some flowing down in and out of streams of moonlight
Before they finally hit the floor

The dots in the sky then connect back into a cage
There's no longer laugh lines on my eyes
Just wrinkles on my face

The moonlight fades
Silence turns back into screams
Reality kicks in
Hopefully the leaves are still on the floor.. at least.

Shake me up
Shake me up
But don’t open me
Shake me up
Shake me up
But don’t come near me

Watch the bubbles fizz inside
Building up preasure
Until I explode
Throwing glass far and wide.

Or open me
Gently take off my cap
A little spritz of air
And joy
From here to there

But often times
A bottle is used once
Or never at all
Boy, what a shame
Not to be drank
But thrown at a wall

Rain falls, I cry
Finally I match the sky
I felt so out of place for so long
The dripping makes a calming song
Making me feel at home
When I'm far from people I never feel alone
Far away I run from fear
However I can’t help but shed a tear
The future is never something I could know
I shiver, the rain turns to snow
Letters from Lia Nov 2018
We are all victims
of failed society
They criticize
They hate
They judge
and we all just
stood there
crying,
tired,
and broken.
We are too numb
to feel,
We pretend to be deaf
about what they say,
We stay blind
of the things they did,
We are the outcast
of this broken world,
We remain silent
creating our own
vast world within
our enormous
minds—There,
we stand
taller than towers
There, our inner voices
speak the loudest
There, our sight
and imagination
is boundless.
I said
"someday
they will
all fall, and
I'd be too
oblivious to hear
all of their screams"
—they made me like this.

Cut the wrist of a Vampire Unicorn,
and She bled glitter,
but what do you except,
when I’m the Black Sheep of the litter,

not a runt though,
no stunts bro,
just real life right now,
just a blatant looting with more in store,

like a city of broken dreams,
post natural disaster,
when every silenced person,
finally gets everything they ever asked for,

and or,
everything they ever thought they wanted,
and I think She might be The Devil,
but then again maybe She’s a Godsend,

because she feels like a blessing,
especially when she’s *******,
and she’s not a priest and I’m not on my knees,
but still to her all my sins I’m confessing,

it’s all lessons,

so what did I learn,
when I saw her spill herself all over me,
and I was left with nothing once the sun rose,
except the mess in my bed she left behind for me to clean,

I guess that’s what you get when you cut the wrist of a Vampire Unicorn,
and She bleeds glitter,
but what did you except,
when you’re the Black Sheep of the litter,

not a runt though,
no stunts bro,
just real life right now,
just a blatant looting with more in store…

(Philosophy)

There are two main emotions, love and fear.
Love is understanding, and it gives us courage.
Fear comes from the lack of understanding, and it makes us nervous/afraid.

I learned that I used to seek love from people by wanting to control the way they perceive me. I wanted them to know that I could relate to, or understand them more than I may actually do.
But, if I kept doing that, that would be foolish, no one understands another entirely, only through similar experiences, but never exact. It’s not fair to the individual.
The goal isn’t just to connect with what’s similar, but also (maybe even more so) to connect with what’s different.
People fear difference, because they don’t know what it may bring. That could be a result of society’s teachings for centuries.
Racism wouldn’t exist if we as humans loved difference. Apparently we feel safe with what is familiar. Why “Curiosity killed the cat?” Why not “Curiosity isn’t a sin, but should be proceeded with caution.”
Those who seek due to curiosity are open minded. Those who follow the ways of the world or rules are more judgmental once they spot something out of the ordinary.
This is where insecurity comes from, because of this programming that if we are not the same, we should not belong.
Saying “love yourself” almost limits you, that’s like saying the rest of the world is like this, but focus and ‘accept’ what you are.
We shouldn’t just teach people to love themselves, what if that can be a side effect from teaching people how to love difference in others.
We should say that every single individual has the power to contribute to improvement, expanding knowledge, and a way of living from the power that their own individuality brings.
It’s not how we are similar. It’s how we are different.
You are what you love, not what loves you.
