Once Upon a Passion

Once upon a time
There was a passion,
Like burning fire,
Boiling water,
Saturated with desire.
The thirst of needing to be seen,
To be heard,
To be free as a soaring bird
Was unquenchable and
Unquestionable.

It was so clear
It ruled out the anxiety
And the fear
Of being judged
Being wrong
And being crushed.

Now that passion has burned out,
Drained,
Pale;
What is left is the anxiety
The possibility
To fail.

we determine how every aspect of our life plays out.
our successes and failures
alike.

whether that means bottomless sums of money or
life spent on the cement corner.

content and joyous or
a constant sense of numbness like your heart is filled with
anesthetic.

visualize, motivate,
and it shall be.

Clenched fists armouring this will
Thoughts inverse with no given time
Etched to seek this onus regime-

Manifested dreams into demise
Yet pretense lure out what is candor
Pain was imminent to forsee
But truth remains the same
Pure of innocence hemmed
Heart of steel mettled with will
Burning the hays of shame
Impelled,

In darkness reign wars will end
