Fleeting episodes
Comet's marigold brilliance
The night of firefly
Teal ocean waves' graceful sways
Lantern lights' dazzling glimmers

The first encounter
Evening rooftop hugs and talks
The late-night dances
Fleeting but never dying
Film tapes caged within my heart
Beautiful short sparkles stay for a long time. (A tanka poem)

you are so small
and simple minded
pure and white
and your time
will come
too soon.
I was inspired by my hamster, Algernon

The light is fading
And the air grows cold
The door's wide open
People ebb and flow
Through time and space
You wouldn't believe it
I've waited all this time to see
A friendly face who will talk awhile
But you don't believe in me anymore

The wind blows out the flames
The fleeting whims of fate
And destiny
Can't you see?
Everything has its moment
Then fades away

I hear the whispers
And the shuffling feet
Walking breezes floating next to me
They float on
But I don't know why
And you wouldn't believe it
I wait eternally to be seen
By a kindred spirit who's saved a place
In their heart
But you don't believe in me anymore

Everything has its moment
Then fades away

The foam of ocean waves
the cries of a newborn babe
the profusion of pedals in a daisy-dotted field
clouds nudging each other
a kiss a sloppy seal
a song that thrills
all these words owned me
took me for a moment this morning.

What’s the big deal?
Those who obsess
Over the cruelest thing
And continue to address
All the problems it brings
Why even bother?
With that grueling temptation
That scars you so
resulting in a lifetime of medication
Who wants that?
Hurt set so deep
Forever a bleeding memory
Intruding on those nights hollow of sleep
Is it really worth it?
The sort of warmth you may feel
Although fleeting-
May it be real
May it be a memory worth keeping
What’s the reason?
For letting oneself fall
Right on their knees-
Becoming so small
As  light as the breeze
But maybe?
They might not want it at all-
Those pesky butterflies,
That siren call
Bringing your soul to life
Is it forced?
The speed of their heart
The feel, that warmth-
The pain of being torn apart
Why do it?
All one can ask for-
Is a companion in life
Life?
****** be the people-
Fate carries on no matter what
And love?
Always demands an encore!
May we never forget those who left us, hurt us, or just couldn't care less?
Of Course!
But that feeling of remembrance is too sweet to deny...
until you find yourself alone.

It was a hot Sunday afternoon on my way to the bus terminal
Wearing khaki shorts, white converse, and my favorite blue shirt
Walking under the scorching sun like some Quiapo criminal
Craving for ***** ice cream and buy one like the woman on red skirt

Tired, I arrived at the terminal and heard the conductor shout,
“Lucena, Lucena, Lucena,” so I ran and immediately went on
There were a couple chattering and beside them their kid, a scout
Vendors selling Chicharon and Espasol and then they were gone

I can see from my seat most of the bus’ eccentric passengers
One is a weary mother and her cherubic baby crying out loud
A busy businessman on a call, and another is a group of fashioners
But I thought these were all temporary, a transient crowd

So, I stared beyond the vast plains and the nature in disguise
None was ever permanent in this episode, my deep introspection
But one thing I know is certain as sure as the sun will rise
That is slowly I am nearing home, I’m sure of my destination
My journey en route home

Look around for a moment,
Nothing will ever be the same.
The light will never hit her face like that again.
The breeze will never blow quite like that.
Enjoy the uniqueness of right now.

Petrifying yellow agony that I concealed inside my mind
Made untouchable even from my brown bare hands
Escape like a prisoner but the end is dark and nowhere to find
Untimely, these scarlet embers burning in the sands

Succumbed into a swirling abyss of agonizing questions
A bizarre episode of losing in a game we all call Life
Only cascading tears are present in effortful actions
Merciless, stabbing me relentlessly with a stainless knife

These thoughts have been in my weary heart for the longest time
Hidden under the deepest chambers preventing anyone to discover
Hindering myself to soar with blissfulness, it’s the most violent crime
Lest, I’ll be ****** and impossible to recover

Mixed thoughts of melancholy and sorrow, these are all fleeting
Although these were the ones that left a massive and painful scar
Shrouded by the blanket of smiles behind an unbearable sting
I cannot wake up from this nightmare yet because it’s dawning afar

knit, purl, knit, purl, knit, purl, stitch
cable front, cable back, knit, knit, knit
slip one over, yarn in front
knit back into place
put one stitch marker there
keep up with the pace
Outside there's snow and now it's sun
White out snow squalls
Then clear blue sky
Mother Nature what's going on?
Is this your attempt at trying to cry?
The world is burning, the ice it melts
We are a virus blistfully unaware
Oh well...
knit, purl, knit, purl, knit purl, stitch
cable back, cable front, knit, knit, knit
Easy come, easy go

how fascinating it is
to read about things that exist
within the vastness of the universe,
where though one looks up to the highest skies,
they cannot be seen by the naked eye;
where its existence would only be known to man
through its discernible temperatures,
unimaginably scorching —

& how dismaying it is
to look down with eyes, unbearably naked
at where the spaces in between our fingers are filled by one another,
where the existence of two clasped hands
is discernible to any man with sight;
but unlike the entities in the galaxies,
there is no warmth at all within.

how amusing it is
to compare us, insignificant beings
to greater things lying within the universe,
to rethink the clear difference
between what is visible, and what can be felt;
a reminder that what once was scorching
could die out in a blink of an eye.

and the world would continue to turn on its axis as if nothing happened.

(how utterly disheartening it is, indeed
to slowly step back and realize
what truly exists, and what only existed
at the speed of light.)
