The labyrinth of our mind

In the labyrinth of our minds, the secrets of the brain still hide
And maybe in the days of our lives, the answers we shall find.
The key to our knowledge and our lost memories preside,
In the basement of our unchartered minds,
In our subconscious lost time.

One day we shall find out all the secrets hidden within,
The pantry of our minds kitchen, which creates our feelings.
One day we shall realize how to spy the mysteries locked there in,
The safe of our conscious and subconscious labyrinth.

Our dreams and our nightmares are a glimpse at another wonder;
The original wonders of the world are deep within us, to be plundered.
We as humans shall take all we can get as we delve under,
The skull of another human mind in search of a new treasure.

What lies beneath the truth and the lies we all do speak?
What lays hidden under the shell of our sanity or insanity?
What will they think of next to invade our personal sanctuary?
In the deepest recesses of our labyrinth, our brain, our memories.

The doctors and nurses, the psychiatrists and psychologists,
Are a fingertip away from knowing the reason for our existence.
All we have left to discover is covered with the bone of our heads;
The brains functions have been unraveled partly.
Now we seek the rest.
We wish to know all the answers, so we dig like archaeologists,
Deep into the minds of the men, the women and the kids.

One day our T.V. will be linked directly into our brain cells,
So we can see the thoughts of our fellow humans and animals as well.
We shall unlock all the mysteries of the human mind given time,
But will we like what we see, deep within the labyrinth of our minds?

sail me to the ocean
******* a caramel covered kiss
we love the imagination fueled by our higher selves
when we live in a state of bliss
but
to sail this lantern down the river
first put a little fire inside
to light it's way
fantastic voyage

Like a dried out pen,
you lay before me.
Perhaps you served a purpose once,
    back in the days
    where leaves still blew
    through these Cadillac-filled streets.
Vanished and forgotten,
like a goldfish
in a bowl without food.
      You'll starve eventually
from the poverty of your mood.
Like a torn photograph,
the image of you is scratched, incomplete,
a deflated soccer ball
lying somewhere in the street.

      A dried out pen
        can write no more,
           but it does not negate
             the works it wrote
                      once before.
Feedback? Comments? I had trouble finding a good ending.

Hello everyone,

I'm so very sorry … I feel horrible doing this, but I have no choice. You see, I have published my first book on Amazon/Kindle! This piece (and many others) had to be taken down because they do not allow published material to be available online for free. (Go figure) I wanted to leave the shell of the posts because I felt compelled to leave all your helpful and loving comments. (Silly sentimental, I know), but I also didn't want to just have the pieces disappear without an explanation. I feel bad enough as it is!

I owe ALL of you so, SO much for all of your reads, love, and support. It was YOU that gave me the gumption to FINALLY get off my **** and publish! Thank you all for the warm comments, camaraderie, and encouragement! I will still be here, reading, uploading and just being the Rascal that I am. How could I EVER leave you guys?

The book is called “The Way I See It – FictionPhilosophySoul Food” and it will be FREE for the first few days on Kindle Select, so watch for it, if you are interested. I hope that you go and grab it. If you do, I would also hope that you find it worthy, you would leave me a good review. That will help me get in the public eye! Soon afterwards (2-3 days or so), it will be available in paperback.

Find the book(s) here: www.amazon.com/author/jeff.gaines

Or find the book(s), and all about me, here: www.JeffGaines.world

Soon after, I also hope to have my first novel (a supernatural thriller), called “Wanderer” available as well!

  Wish me luck!

                                Big, Biggest Love,

I wrote this, in my bed one morning, after awaking from the oddest dream I'd ever had. I later wrote something that expounded on this after letting it sink in a bit deeper. It is called "Celestial". Find it here:

he sang me to sleep each and every night,
he keeps me smiling, warm and bright.
but somehow i feel my mind falling apart,
and why is it you that still owns my heart?
why is it you that takes up my mind?
leave please, would you be so kind?
i’m trying to move on from you,
but thinking of you is all i do.
i love him,
i loved you.
i loved me,
i lost you.
i loved him,
i found me.
you forgot me,
i miss you.

key
it’s funny
how i keep on searching
for the way
to unlock
my creativity,

turns out
that the
key
to it
was
a shard of my broken heart.

should i keep holding
onto that piece,
leaving my heart
with a little hole?

to keep writing?

to keep expressing?

will this be an addiction?

will i have to
keep breaking
to get more of myself?

or
am i just
ignoring the fact
that my heart,
if once whole again,
if i had that piece glued back to where it should be,

will open me to more possibilities?

will my whole heart signify a greater key?

i wonder as i wander.
not really a piece but i had to write about it since it suddenly popped in my head before i slept and i didnt want to forget about it

You are just a fool in the
middle of a canvas,
blocking images
of the
Light in your soul.

Come along with it.
Love your body and don't
let it remain in despair.
It will Thank you.

See It & Respect It.

Witnessing this moment in time, gave me a "chin up" epiphany at a really sad time in my life. It showed me that even something really simple like that could, and would, eventually bring me back to "Happy".
