The first rays of a rejuvenated sun kisses the tired night, the birth of a new day.
Tears of the winds slowly trickles down the stems of elated flowers,
the smell of first light, tickles the innocence within.

Before we got tainted by a unforgiving world.
It transport ones consciousness to a time when we heard the morning birds, we woke up with glee
when our eyes were a kaleidoscope of hope
when the dark truth of this world we could not see.

I can hear them with song sing out my name
the sound of pure delight
as they flutter and fly around the trees
a true harmonious sight, with whimsical appeal of freedom,
this is sweet melody in flight.
Pure freedom, a feather in the wind. Carried in time exempt.
Free from obligation to be a puppet for corporations.
Alluding to freedom that they created.
How I wish I could hear those birds sing aloud, more clearly.

Cautiously stepping,
The deer samples the new grass.
We look on wistful.
We saw some deer cautiously hanging out on the side of a road. Clearly confused about the lack of people and cars they kept alert while munching on the fresh spring sprouts of grass. We watched in isolation through our window and chuckled that we are the ones in the zoo now.

I'm in an upside-down world
With an upside-down heart
The sky is in the sea
And I'm sailing in the clouds
I reach for the sun and in my hands it falls apart
And what was once a thousand colours
Is now a grey shroud
My eyes fill with wonder
At a woebegone world
And my soul fills with peace
At the reverberating silence
I've tethered nature to my ship of ether
It's all withered and curled
At its helm I stand, marvelling at what I've built
My pedestal, my island

automatic doors
never worked for me
- and in a mirror
i saw the past
- and when it is early
the blood rushes to my throat
- and i see red
every time,
i dream

I wander through the city,
skipping every crack.

It never feels as real,
hearing it from your lips.

When you write it,
I’m elated.
It’s warm honey daubing
crusty sourdough
as I sip a cup of joe
and gaze out the window
at the ocean mist
under a toasty sunset.

Yet, when I listen to you speak,
hear your tone
as I gaze into your eyes,
the glow just isn’t there.

I want to believe
you have just lost it,
but I really can’t remember.

I stop to scrape gum off my sole.

There is a name calling out
in the silence of the mind.

There is a space
where clutter occupies.

There is a creation
at the end of destruction.

There is pain,
and love,
and pain again.

A wheel of self-abuse,
the likes of which gets us high
in each and every revolution.

I keep saying to myself
that all bad days have an ending

but so the good days
have one too.
I wish yesterday could last forever and relive it over and over again.

Rapidly approaching dusk, the sunbeams are bouncing across car roofs, creating a river of deep red.
Below there's broken glass strewn across the always shining like star light bending in the atmosphere.
I wonder what the glass thinks of being shattered by drunk nomad who felt the desire to release the bottle at high velocity?
Does it care that it's avoided by all the passers by?
Does it feel free having escaped the vessel and sprawl across the concrete?
Perhaps I need to be shattered to break free?
Trapped in mental paradox I struggle to find resolution.
Wading in ambiguity without direction, exhaustion settles into routine.
Waiting to see the fruits of my investment in self.
Work in progress... Not sure where I'm going with this
