I had a friend whom I loved,
but she bedded with a beast.
The beast would beat her regularly,
twice daily at the least.

I begged her and I pleaded her,
“Please leave the beast today.”
No matter how I reasoned, though,
she said there was no way.

She said that she was happy there,
said she was in control,
said she wasn't being ****** into
the terrible black hole.

“Think about your kids,” I said,
“They need their mom to win
this battle with the pills that seem
to always draw you in.”

The sparkle in her eyes went dim,
her laughter sounded forced.
Every visit with her left my
worst fears reinforced.

Finally, I stood my ground,
said that she had to choose.
I thought I'd given her a path
that she could not refuse.

Alas, she chose the pills instead
of keeping me a friend,
this woman that I thought would be
my sister 'til the end.

She kicked me out, she carved me out,
she shut me out and then,
she denied me when I reached out for her
time and time again.

There was a time, however,
when she could not tell me no.
I was there to give her flowers
on her final trip solo.

I stood there at her graveside,
tears streaming down my face,
watching doves fly skyward
at her final resting place.

Just a thought,
To where everything’s ******,
Eyes in leer – flameless –
You are Beauty.

Open eyes, open skies
Open realm, open lies.
White as snow, I was
You’re the apple in spells.
As I lived, I have died too.

With rustic munitions,
You gashed my heart out.
With your circles in hoax,
You murdered me.

A sunless morning,
A moonless night,
An air so humid,
An unsalted oceans.
For in time so impeccable,
Befuddling in misdemeanors,
You’re the Beauty who’s a Beast.

Just in time,
**Forgiveness is an erudite.

My Beauty
If it's our only way
To happily ever after
I'd gladly be
Your Beast.
Here's to my fave

Known as the beast,
He actually was the
cursed prince,
his only parts that were human
were his beautiful heart
and the crystal blue eyes
that held so much pain
mixed with hope
to find his Beauty
who, with her True Love,
will break the spell
but
the beauty was too blind
to look beyond his ugly appearence,
to drown in his crystal blue eyes,
and
to fall in love with his
beautiful heart
the hope in his eyes died one day
the curse grew stronger
and now he was
The Beast by Heart !!

Humanity is more man than beast,
The exact opposite, for me, at least
I feel my inner darkness rage,
As it struggles to break the cage

I feel the sudden urge to destroy,
Unusual, for a young man, still a boy
Attending High School, with a girlfriend
The urge to make everything end

But as gentlemanly
As I can be
There lies a beast
Deep within me

Do you feel
The same way, too?
Or is it just
An anger issue?
Is it unusual to want to destroy, every now and then? I cannot tell, I just want to end/ Everything that I hate so much, Like bullies, tormentors, teasers and such.

Rambling rivers
Bone shivers
Vegetation withers
The beast slithers

Ocean tides
Coward hides
Avalanche slides
Gunman decides

Feel bold
Know cold
Tightly hold
Lies sold

We all decide
Choices collide
Friends make war
Enemies make amends
Opportunity closes her door
nightmare never ends.

Life is a fickle one
For all of us,
under the sun.

This is for all of us
those who share this world,
under the sun.

dad is in the garage.
days into spark-light and piles of polyethylene
etched.
soon, he says.
as grandaddy laughs,
rattling the icebox for more beer.

dad’s homemade android:
  the thing.
like a doll polished
& grinning, it
dances for us in the kitchen.

the dog barks, chained in the backyard.

the thing,
do-si-dos for a laugh, catches a glimpse
of the trees beyond the yard,
overheats,
circuits popping into a limp heap of pieces.
  dead.
left to mold-over in the garage.

the days.
the rain.
the cats tiptoeing along the edge of fences
across the street.
the dog barking, chained, &
snapped.
  dead
beneath a truck.

dad is in hysterics.
dad is in the garage,
weeks in and his soaked red knuckles.
mom is drinking with grandaddy.
they rattle the icebox.
  the dog.

the dog dances for us in the kitchen,
reboots and sits.
it digs a pit all night and buries three cats there.
it sleeps on the mound.
it never barks.
it waits there in the backyard, still
& staring into the trees.
  the trees.

the belly of the beast
holds an undeniable hunger
a need
a want
an uncontrollable urge
to break everything asunder

the mind of the beast
knows nothing of real value
no poetry
no music
no reasoning behind thoughts
or balance to push through

the heart of the beast
feels everything but pain
some love
some affection
something to hold on to
but nothing to gain

Once upon a time a girl met a thief
She saw through his tricks, he opened her eyes
Their love was quite great but their time was quite brief
And once she was gone the world heard his cries

He hung his head low and his knees hit the floor
Another man came and offered to end the despair
The thief begged him "do it" and the thief was no more
The man simply laughed as his howls pierced the air

Muscles turned over as flesh turned to fur
Ears grew long and fangs sprout from jaws
The new body takes over while his mind starts to blur
Eyes glow like fire and blood drips from his claws

To break this curse a brave one you must be
For none can live, when the Beast is set free
