I took you from a tree,
Set you on a disection table.
I cut off your wings.
Baby birdie can not fly.
I love the way,
You cry.

I love to watch,
All little things die!
It is so cute,
Watching them try to fly!
I love the way,
You cry.

Oh sweet little birdie,
You look so pretty.
Let me feed you,
Through a plastic tube.
I love the way,
You cry.

Everyday I find myself lost in my own mind full of pink clouds, tangerine birds, and a light blue  sky where everything is so perfect... expect for one missing piece... my wings.

I must have grown wings
captured within your arms
because I’m flying even when
my feet are planted next to yours

You can pin me down
But shattered scales will be all that is left
Wings bloodied

the calm synth exhales.
i close my eyes as the rumble of the wheels turn.
palms face up on my lap, i pray.

señor, cuídame en este viaje.
estás conmigo.
inhala; exhala.

my stomach dips with the beat,
the bass picks up & so do we,
right on cue in perfect harmony.

i’m not scared of flying.
i found a peace in that moment
where the song, the sky & my soul
snapped into sync so smoothly
that i sighed in serenity.

i’m not scared of flying,
but sometimes of where i’m going,
& of what lies ahead.

but let me have this moment,
where daniel & kali
soar through the clouds with me,
where everything seems to click.

let me breathe,
despite the lack of oxygen outside.
& save a seat for Him.

Send me back to where I belong
Cut the wings you made of feather
I cannot live where I feel wrong
I’ll never stand this change of weather

Make me feel good once again
Let the aching leave my head
I feel the dribbling down my chin
While trying to sleep in my so-called bed.

No matter the dreams you have
I'd shift the stars to align them with mine
But if your purpose leads you far from me
For however long, I'd wait for your return ever patiently

If you ever find yourself lost at sea
I'd dive in to keep your soul company
My shadow rippling against the white of the moon
Even during the halcyon nights of winter

Because on our hearts
Flutters a matching pair of wings
Wherever you are
As long as you're willing, I will always follow

In the palm of my hand,
I had a dream and a reality
and both were you.

You put the brightest stars in my eyes,
The most wonderful constellations.
But little did I know I'd be blinded with how much they shined.

You made flowers grow in my lungs;
Roses, carnations and camellias.
They were beautiful, but they suffocated me all the same.

You gave my heart wings to soar,
To fly with a feeling so light.
They gave up nonetheless when I flew to to close to your Sun.

Stars cross, uncross then cross again.
Waves come to shore and back to sea.
Winds pass by over and over,
And clocks won't seem to ever stop.

You change and I remain.
You go and I stay.
And in the end, I'm alone again.
