what if we could grasp things in our hands..?
I don't mean plain, concrete items,
I mean what if we could grasp the memories, the changing of the seasons,
and the people we love into one little item?
how long could we contain it inside such a microscopic view of abstract
morals and views?
how about that titian leaf lying around in the pile near your door?
go and pick it up.
what do you feel, hear, smell, see, perhaps even taste in the moment?
I think that in that moment when our minds have come to a conclusive point about the values grasped into something so simple,

we can hold it.

We institute procedures as a tool to obtain substance.
We design metrics as a tool to track and ensure that substance is obtained.
But then, the tool becomes holier than its own purpose.
When we value procedure over substance,
we sacrifice substance for procedure.
Even the judges value procedure over justice as illustrated by a Justice on the US Supreme Court: “Mere factual innocence is no reason not to carry out a death sentence properly reached.” J. Scalia in Herrera v. Collins, 506 US 390 (1993).
Tonight I sleep in the sky and fly with the stars
Shedding behind the old worn skin of the days past
Entering the safest place, my mind
And meeting the most encouraging person, myself.

I used to scream silently into the dead broken night
In the now concaved woods, that once enveloped me
And now that I have found the freedom to drop the rust covered blade
I am able to feel the pleasures of the ice cold rain

My newfound strength uplifts me
As my real self comes out, quivering with fear
I am not child nor a woman
I am a transgender man with much to live for and much to give

I maybe young but my eyes are old
I was raised to be an adult before my time
I shall rise to the occasion and give the love I have
While still leaving some to be received

I am sick of a greedy world full of pain and suffering
I am sick of my sarcastic, pessimistic values
I am dreadfully tired of the life that was handed to me
And I am ready to start anew....of my own and by myself.
I haven't been on for awhile. I had a panic attack and then an emotional overload the day after. I did some soul search on who I WANT to be versus who I have made myself out to be. I know what I want, but can my friends and family accept it...? I hope so.

Where were you,

When the world was calling you,
When Love & honesty was only with few.

When Poverty & Hunger was at its high,
When exploitation & injustice was very easy buy.

When Poverty rips through their veins,
When child in ragged clothes, with tired eye, begs for few beans.

When their bellies ****** is not by choice,
When destitute mother cries as her hungry child dies.

When women were exploited, with no one to tame,
When humanity was cringing with shame.

When even little girls were not spared by lust eyes,
When she was left with bruised body, with her dreams crushed & with groaning voice.

When baneful herbs of hatred were spreading viciously,
When aroma of love & tolerance was crushed blatantly.

When moral outlines were quashed,
When values were scotched.

At least now,
Stop Just crying foul & grumbling,
Stop feeling sorry & bleating.

Time has come to move on,
Get off the couch & plan for a new dawn.

Lead the change with your head  high,
March ahead, your limit is sky.

don't you young
become poets
it may sound romantic and cool
but that's what it is - it sounds
Yeah, it's all about how it sounds

Mom was right:
Better be a dentist -
for though you stare all day into mouths
you'll be agape when you look at your bank accounts

Dad was right:
Better be a surgeon-specialist -
for though you fix areseholes all life-through
your bank account is never a dark hole

And poetry, remember,
they must have told you, doesn't sell;
the Humanities are not for humans;
Writing is for those who can't talk their way up -
so don't aspire to be a poet
dear young ones
for you'll suffer all life
of scarcity of means,
plenty of sneers and want

2
And your husbands will tell you:
I married you cause being a poet
I thought you could moan and oooh and aaah
and make better love than that!

And your wives will scowl:
**** your poetry!
Get me real diamonds and money!

3
So dear young ones
perhaps you want to give up your verse
and turn to medicine or finance
or engineering
and study for dollars instead

*a return on investment
is what you want

Teach me Lord
Never to judge
when perfect I am not

Teach me Lord
Never to preach
When follow thou I not

Teach me Lord
Never to curse
when kind words fail me

Teach me Lord
Never to hurt
when healing is difficult

Teach me Lord
Never to preen
when virtues I fall short

Teach me Lord
Never to be arrogant
for I have not all

Teach me Lord
Never to be cruel
Lest your rage I invite

Teach me Lord
Never to seek revenge
I may too have betrayed

Teach me Lord
Never to Lie
spinning stories comes naturally

Teach me Lord
To be merciful
To forgive
To praise
To comfort
To utter truths
To be faithful
To stay strong
To be open
To be guarded
To be peaceful
To be resigned
To be humble

But above all to Love like you
Teach me Lord  your values, give me the strength to stay strong, when my miserable self , prostrate before thyself.

One day I was sitting by a tree,
By the park filled with laughter
Of a child, of a mum, of a dad, of a brother.

A leaf fell to the ground
And I thought " What a pretty leaf "
As I was thinking if I should pick it up,
An old lady who was about 70 years of age walked pass and said,
" What is this garbage doing here? Doesn't anyone clean the park? "
She then picked the leaf and and straight into the bin it went.

She walked away and I began thinking.
It was obvious then,
We're all humans and fortunately, gifted with a pair of eyes.
And unfortunately, we see things with our very own pair of eyes.
Thus, forming a contradiction of opinions.

You can't force upon your opinion upon someone else,
Nor should you only believe in your opinion.
Someone else may be right sometimes, at the same time,
You may be too.

Here comes point number two.
Because we see things differently,
What I think is beauty, may seem to you as unfascinating.
What I think is normal, may seem out of the box to you.
What I think isn't attractive, may be the world to you.

But that is okay,
Opinions were meant to be heard.
Thoughts were meant to be listened to.
Hopes were meant to be fulfiled,
And feelings were meant to be felt.

*Unless you've got nothing nice to say,
Then you keep your mouth shut.

You long for the sensation of happiness, and try to find it in everything possible.
But never get that real fulfilment you're looking for.
You struggle to find what it is that you need, but you can hope its there.
And just by looking at a new purse in your favourite store, next to some pretty heels; that array of happiness momentarily lies in your presence.
But there are all these things to want in the world.
All these materialistic items that can make you happy for just a few short moments.

But what I personally really want is him.
He gives me that happiness that lasts aeons, and that is what I need

Look at what we value and praise. We a seek better days yet refuse to mend our ways.
If you avoid conflict and treat others kindly you’re a *****, but if you act savagely you’ll have a hard time keeping people off your ****, now anit that some ****?
This isn’t a rap. Look at what’s happening in the world and look at your actions. Why does a “good life” have to include detrimental acts? I’d rather have the hippes back then the **** yall on.
You gonna wish u listened when u see the good guys all gone.”
