I love the brilliant frenzied
        stillness
Earth rotating, an opaque of
        beaded matters
The buckling transfixiated
           openings of bleeding
     ground.
Blue green brown blood
    teeming with movement
disconnecting features
    rapt in water
      and other lives
  repeating, inserting
    maelstroms of
thought.

Impressions on the surface
nearly never right at all
Liars talk of enemies to
feel they're ten feet tall
The truth between the said and done
is few and far between
I do not take to heart your tales
for I feel of it no need
If you said it to affect me
to see my rage, a fear, or cry
Your efforts, child
are useless here
Not but a ripple of
the pond

The world went dark;
The sun shut off like a light bulb,
The land turned to ice,
The clouds stopped floating,
And there was the absence of life.

Outside
It was quiet
Solemn and calm
And the ocean retained its glossy surface

Not a pin drop
Or a brontide
Or a baby's soft cry can be heard
Which frightened me

If all these things around me
Are still,
Then I wonder
Why I'm moving.
still here
on this cushion
when all my thoughts
tell me to run

as my mind tightens
I breathe more deeply
my shoulders drop
and my breath, body, and mind
slowly fall into rhythm

being still and connecting to a God
I do not understand,
but love with my heart
feels so difficult,
and yet sometime it feels as
natural as eating pie with ice cream.

I stood there.
Staring.
A snow-capped peak stared back.
I became exceedingly captivated.
Captivated by the thought that he and I existed;
Existed now.
Existed here.
Existed together.

I became a shell.
A shell filled with explosive joy.
And I could no longer become underwhelmed.
Nor could I become whelmed.

I lived.

I will never believe in myself more,
Never trust in Creation more,
Never be enveloped in the stillness more
Than I did in that moment.

Glimpsing that skyline.
Staring down a mountain.
