I want to be a greeter to the new seasons
to allow the new love, new sunrises and sunsets
the moon looks different from here
I gave away the old shirts and kissed the new lips and let the old worries stay awhile
change is the only thing we're promised
I made my old bed in a new room and danced in the kitchen in my same socks
I welcomed the softer skin and sugar-coated voice, the life that changed when I stopped looking back
everything shifts and I adjust
it's me, a new me, the same me
somehow different
somehow just as marvelous

you
there isn't a star
brighter than you
a rose
softer
than your lips
a cloud
lighter
than my heart when
you look at me
there isn't a place
that we could go
that could take my eyes
off you

roses
dusty
soft,
lips
the same
soft color
eyes
the blue of the sky
soft clouds
drifting through them
a smile
that makes me fall
a drift
like a feather
i'd like
to kiss
your
petal
soft
lips

i see heaven in your eyes
and you see sincere in mine.
and we fall right into the night.

child, don't be afraid

does the weight of the world feel heavy on your shoulders?
does your love mirror the affection that you're given?
do you feel alone when the lights go out?

there's a glimmer of hope shining through the pavement
can you see a new beginning,
like the one you've been craving?

is it enough to make you get through the day?
or are your demons chasing you,
throwing you back into the fray?

child, don't be afraid

are you aware that you are the only one in the world?
can you see how lovely you have the potential to be?
do you have the courage to wholeheartedly be yourself?

please, don't feel alone
when it all comes crashing down.
thought about dima while writing this in class, so here you go .

Fingers soft like honey
words that sing a tune
my baby doesn't love me
and neither do you too.
I'm bleeding shades of red
and my wrists are all black and blue
oh honey what'd you do to me
i've become oh so blue
honey be safe

The feeling of craving
Your lips on mine

Hands softly holding one another
Distant souls combining as one

A connection made not just with lips
But of lustrous affection

Understand that in the moment
Everything is safe

Reassurance of unceasing love
Made with just one kiss

She stared with blazing fiery eyes
teeth sharper than blade itself
words sinking far more into the flesh,
piercing the heart.

How surprising
for those same eyes were once soft,
affectionate, compassionate and innocent.
Those teeth used to pull into a content smile,
words ever so gentle and kind
exist no more.

Alluring was her beauty;
sweet as the roses that intoxicated the air
and soft as the petals that caressed their skin.
But look deeper
to the roots
you’ll see the thistle she hides;
For if you get to close
you’ll see a different side.
