When I see that face
I forget all the pain
I have been through!
Then the only words I get
on my lips are I love you.

Have you ever just seen the normal things?
I mean really see them

Like the intricately woven fingers of a Conifer leaf
The riveting shades of green that changes like the colour of the ocean
The light green spills over the dark, in a wild but beautiful contrast

Like the smokey rust of an autumn orange leaf
Falling ambivalently
Where the wind blows
Like the crisp ruby of a freshly picked raspberry
The deep, angry knots locked in wood
Or the spiralling beanstalk, climbing and reaching

The plume of colour from a flower
Pebbles lapping against a woven patio

Understand.
Perspective.

Take some time to really see something, for the first time.
“You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view … until you climb into his skin and walk around in it.”- Harper Lee, Atticus Finch

I can see you but do you really see me?
How can you know what it’s like to be?
Surface impressions can be so very deceiving
if the onlooker is by a narrow mind perceiving.

I wrote to Jupiter
About all the palms
floating in the wind
and the sun
hanging upon the edge
of the world.

If I could I would reset
All of this
as it should
and let the same
Calypso play
till I'm sick
of it all.

But Jupiter
Just laughed
At the world I saw
And made the sky dark
To take away the sunsets.

Touch my hand
None shall see it
I promise

None but the
Silver moon
An allied to us

It will light up
The trail
It will guide
Our paces

And what about
The darkness that
Surrounding us
My love?

I'm scared...

Skeleton boughs
Creeping all around
My hollow body

Distant howls
Mislead me from you
I feel lost

I'm scared...

Touch my hand
And nightmare's web
Will fade away
I promise

But they shall
See us!
They'll see us
My love

None but the
Silver moon
I promise
World as you end,
...same as the start.
Oh the indescribable beauty!
See the metaphor?
See?

I could cast my gaze toward anyone,
but connection comes in small moments of understanding:
When we direct our attention long enough to contemplate the colors,
To regard the size of the darkness we see the world from.
Sometimes we only catch a hit-and-run,
But when it sticks, when souls connect, and we see the other for who they really are,
It leaves me with something I can't forget,
My mind has yet to find a greater but just as simple communication in adoration of another creation.
There's something powerful in the one-on-one,
Undeterred by surrounding crowds or events in motion all around,
Eyes still meet and lock, no passing thing can break their talk.
With every burning second the mirrored sensation of optical reception resembles the sweet weariness of a Nordic midnight sun.
And then it breaks as thoughts swirl in passion heated from skylights.
The warmth runs through the whole body, just seconds filling every cold spot.
As the windows close no one knows, but those dark spots and colors burn in the silence.
I think you may understand, relate in some way, but in reality these words aren't for everyone.

I can breathe again
I can see again
But now someone can could look in
They might slightly see through my walls
