My wife and son chase butterflies
in the mornings of summer days.
Beneath the South Florida skies,
I watch as my family plays.

In the mornings of summer days,
my worries glide off with the breeze.
I watch as my family plays,
while I relax beneath shade trees.

My worries glide off with the breeze.
They drift to join the building storm,
while I relax beneath shade trees,
on days when morning seems so warm.

They drift to join the building storm,
those pressures rattling their cage,
on days when morning seems so warm,
I wait for the thundering rage.

Those pressures rattling their cage,
where sea breeze meets the heat of day;
I wait for the thundering rage,
while all my cares just float away.

Where sea breeze meets the heat of day,
beneath the South Florida skies;
while all my cares just float away,
my wife and son chase butterflies.
This is a pantoum. Please let me know what you think.

endlessly lies the possibilities
of what could be done and why,
and i look up to them in quiet awe.

nothingness envelops me,
sadness creeping up from the dark spots,
but there is a bright side even yet,

i am young, they say,
and i smile politely and remind them,
that age does make wisdom,

however, adversity does is just as well.
lay with me, but breathe gently.
easily disturbed is the balance of it all,

it took too many years to equal out,
please, rest softly,
question meanings, and sleep.

stillness is not the evil in this world.
there lies no shame in it,
but the shame rests in the expectancy

of only productivity.
think of nothingness, and do so daringly,
and find calm in your being.

Brightness illuminates the path.
Darkness reaches out as you jump.
Feel your feet hit the light.
Darkness can't touch you here.
The light provides shelter.
Now picture the light.
Can you feel it beneath your feet.
Can you feel it wrap it's rays around you?
Is it hot or is it calming?
What shape does it take.
Now remember what this light looks like.
You walk farther away from the darkness.
Turning around you say Goodbye Darknesss
Say it aloud, "goodbye darkness"
You are alive and healthy.
General but strong.
Here the Darknesss Cannot touch you.
The light pushes it away.
Whenever depression comes at you picture your light.

Clock is ticking.
Midnight texting.
Could be relaxing.
Words are flowing.
Mind is showing.
Thoughts keep going.
Time for sleeping.
I say good night.
And sweet dreaming.

Grey Sunday afternoon.
Rain is fallen glistering gloom.
Inside it's warm and cozy.
Time for writing and relaxing.
Watch a movie and some texting.
Even when this day is grey.
Smile and have lovely Sunday.

Late this evening.
When words are so healing.
My head is connecting.
With you I'm still texting.
My eyes are slowly closing.
My mind feels so relaxing.
I'm tired from not
enough sleeping.
Trying to comfort my
steady breathing.
Almost asleep.
Wish you pleasent dreaming.

The glistening snow sweats off the arms of the woods,
The sun's warmth challenges the breeze,
But the breeze knows how to get under my skin,
The sun can only touch gently on the surface.

And another thing: my mind is at ease,
But it must be arousing to knead an angel in the doughy snow,
Rather than ******* my boots, pack up my book bag,
And to tune out the rest, put on my headphones,
Playing songs to keep me stuck inside my head.

Rather than grinding equations,
Taking notes,
Inspecting writing,
Instead of analyzing one of these,
I'd like to read glowing literature for my heart's sake.

The best days begin and end like this.
These days tranquilize me,
Sequester cortisol from my brain,
And quell thoughts of then,
thoughts of tomorrow, thoughts of today,
thoughts of when, thoughts of who,
thoughts of why, thoughts of how,
thoughts of you.

So since you aren't here to feed my soul,
And I can't read in this city's wretched cold,
I'll tuck myself inside my bed,
And burn my eyes on my phone screen instead.

Colorful leaves
Orange, yellow and red
A soothing breeze
And relaxing leaf beds

Lovely hand holding
The perfect cuddling weather
The best view to be beholding
Just one look takes away any displeasure

Carved pumpkins or pumpkin pie
Halloween or Thanksgiving
In the leaves I could forever lie
Nothing beats this feeling

And although the leaves will finish falling
And Autumn won't last forever
Every end has a new beginning
And both can be so beautiful

Sitting in my easy chair
By the double windows
Happy just to be here
In my ratty old bungalow.
But happy doesn’t cover it.
It’s really dreams come true.
I have my own place here.
No roommate to suffer through.

It’s Saturday afternoon now
The sun slowly going down
Painting my walls colored
Like the face of a happy clown;
Reds and whites and yellow
Bouncing off the green lawn
And making art of my home
Until the sun at last is gone
Yet I still remember every tone.

Some days I sit under my tree.
I ate the avocadoes you know.
And I planted it right here
No idea that it would grow
Into this magnificent tree
It is twenty five feet or so;
A beauty that calms me
Just watching it grow.

Rain on the roof
Distributor of peace
Of rest and sleep;
A blessed release
For what better to do
What stronger proof
Than taking a great nap
With rain on the roof?

The horizon glows purple beneath the muted kaleidoscope of a fading rainbow
Salt hangs in the air, thick as the sand trodden on by so many
Daylight heaves a last sigh and closes her eyes, tucking herself into a comforter of oranges, purples, and blues, resting for the day to come
Foamy crests chase each other towards the feet of the travelers, and shyly retreat back on themselves, stumbling clumsily
The birds dip into the chilly water and bob over the rolling waves before suddenly taking to the darkening sky
Here, landscape, human and animal intermingle, amid the tranquility that only the sea can bring
The days stretch on, full of lazy possibilities
And each morning is a fresh start, full of new wonders
