I've broken through
The wall that has surrounded
me.
Not a word
has been written by my hand
since a time so far forgotten.
Overgrowth from disuse
has cluttered my focus,
drying up my ambition
although no sun has shone upon it.
My thoughts became cracked,
dusty with age,
and the webs
became so thick
I couldn't cut them with fire.
But like a maze,
I found a path through.
There were dead ends,
and tricks,
and traps along the way,
but I made
the correct turns to get back
to that place
like a mouse to cheese.
I've found my pen,
and through the ink,
my words will find the world.

Walls, stone walls climbing as high as skyscrapers
Grey, grey upon grey, shadows and stone
A shaky breath left my lips as I looked forward.
My eyes met an endless corridor, stretching further and further
Further and further

An aching burn in my heart prompted me to keep walking
Everything was grey, it chills me to the core
An echo, a whisper of your voice
Your soothing words a gentle caress against my cheeks

"I got you. I'll be your rock."

Nails digging into my palms, I placed one foot over another, one foot over another
I told myself, we are going to make it out together.

With only my intuition as my guide, I travelled through the endless labyrinth
One day, we will find each other and make it out together.

This prison is a place where darkness only breeds
and the shadows dance with themselves,
playing tricks on my eyes, darting quickly across the walls
only to vanish upon my focused gaze.

I once caught a glimpse of these hypnotic specters;
cruel machinations of tortured souls revealed themselves
to be nothing more than corrupted reflections of myself
wandering aimlessly through a hall of mirrors.

These rooms were once traversable,
but now this maze is more twisted than my own intentions;
unheeded, unnoticed and smiling, like a knife in the dark
waiting for an opportunity to quell any ambitions
that may lead to freedom.

hanging by threads
from the core
her trapped heart
with a hurting soul

blades of lies
penetrates digging holes
of deep darkness
leaving emptiness within

her clawed face
and sadden soul
she fears death
covered in tears

worry lingers through
her confused brain
staining her mind
black with pain

her heart echos
the false love
the promised illusion
and poisoned temptation

dripping wet eyes
filled up with
tears of hesitation
crying for solitude

hung in sorrow
chained against walls
of dark depression
reflecting yesterday's rain

around her neck
a tightened noose
coated with barbwire
hurt and pain

left all alone
with no mask
concealing the shadows
choking her soul

leading her through
a loneliness maze
loosing the shape
of her whole

the lost young
girl she was
has completely vanished
into thin air

now she is
a confused woman
living in her
own garden's hell

Feel my pain, bare my burden
Let me give you the suffering that you've created

Feel my insecurities, explore my mind
In the deepest darkest part
you will find

Can you get through the night?
It's a dare you should try

For my mind is a never ending maze
A constant battlefield

Be me I will say, get in my mind
Go ahead

You'll survive, you'll get out
But feeling a bit sane after that?

Oh I doubt not

so let us play hide and seek
in my maze of mind
or the labyrinth of my heart.
you can try finding me
or try to find me.
but only if you care enough,
or maybe
only if you're lonely enough.

Sometimes I laugh at my own misery
My mind forever split in two
The God and the creation
One benevolent and indifferent
The other open to inflictions

When tragedy strikes
One always had the answers
And the other out of breath trying to catch up
But like always, history repeats itself
The creation questions God
Soon my mind's at war

The supposedly complainant part
Making a fuzz about finding this myth called love
For instinct dictates to find holes in the rules
Because how could God know something so human
So I embrace the doubt

Treading boldly into the unknown
With nothing muted
Emotions light my path and i no longer have my Shepard
You can imagine my surprise
When I realised it wasn't the road to what i thought would be my new home
Instead I found myself in the eye of the labyrinth

Lost and terrified
I no longer want to find my new home
I want to be told what to do again
So now I'm looking from afar
At the child weeping on its knees
In the middle of a cruel maze
And yes I'm laughing at its misery.

Caught in this twisted maze of God's creation
one can't very well see the light or destination
of what is supposed to be a stairway to heaven
that ends up being like the steps of the heathen
which are usually known to lead us all astray
that many people do ignorantly use each day.

We must be able to find a path that's new
and to realise it as something that is true.
Otherwise it'll become very dry and brittle
amounting to nothing more which is little
that is seen or known to be just worthless
like anything without a seed is fruitless.

How could we all be left here like this
to moan that we're now lost and amiss?
as compared to that which we once were
and what we could all be again to confer.
But we haven't all gone astray as it seems
for there are those who've realised dreams.

They're the ones who've come and gone before
to that place on the horizon and opened a door
in that sanctified land or realm of possibility
where just about everything is possible to see.
One needs only to have faith and also believe
avoiding those things that are here to deceive.

Life is confusing, like a maze.

Everyone tries to find the right way.

One wrong step could ruin it all.

One mistake and you could fall.

It's easy to get lost when you don't know

Where to end up and where to go.

Are you walking the right way?

It's hard to know and hard to say.

Make the right choices at the right time.

Avoid the wrong path and you'll be fine.

Once you're lost it can be hard

To find your way back to the start.

Follow your heart and ignore the lies.

Don't get lost in the maze of life.
