I don't believe in a prince wearing his armory, slaying the princess' dragon, saving the princess, and living happily ever after together

I believe in the princess wearing her own armory, slaying her own dragons, saving herself , and living her own happily ever after

I'm too old for fairy tales
Don't entertain me
With myths and tall tales
Of a fair maiden that
Awaits a top a castle
In a land far far away
Chivalry is dead
And you killed it

With this catch and release,
Find a mate, toy with them,
And when bored cast them away,
cleanse your hands with bleach
And forget they exist
I should count my blessings
But this obsession with all
This shame and rejection
Got me playing memories
Like this on a loop
Previews of purgatory

I hope they'll all forget me
Then I can lead my life happily

The simpler life becomes,
the worse it seems to be.
As things turn to basic,
for both you and me.

Take my hand,
elevate me far away.
Bring me to the place,
where there is no dismay.

Where the birds sing freely,
where the skies never turn grey;
where we can both live happily,
and our souls will never fray.

Don't get it twisted
Happily ever afters only happens in the stories
My reality is laying on the floor in aching pain after he comes home
My reality is brutal hits and kicks and screaming in agony
The reality is, love hurts.
This one is about domestic violence and how for some people, happily ever afters are just in the books

Don't settle for the wrong love
Learn to wait a little longer
That magical moment will come
You will find the rightest person
Who will see your worth and who
Wont leave you for anyone else
You'll be more than enough
For that person to stay.

imagine this
there's always the
kiss

right before the end
they have to tie you in
finish the deal

To show they were more than friends
I guess that's always been the trend
To see the happily ever after begin

Hearts were racing and feet were running
Her trying to catch up in her white sneakers
Him holding onto her hand
With a smile when he looked back

Laughter was astounding and panting in between
Her in that little white dress, a small veil over her head
Him in that neat shirt, sleek jeans and a stunning white bow tie
"This is crazy..." they said

"Ready?"
"Not really."

Hearts were racing but feet were walking
Their hands clutched together, ever so tightly
Down the aisle they go
Towards an altar that they've failed to believe in

Laughter melted into little giggles and panting in between*
With minimal witnesses
They made silly vows
And exchanged simple rings

"I do."*

And they shared a kiss
One like no other
One that marked their ultimate bliss

"I love you." she whispered
"I know." he chuckled
And she hit him with the tiny bouquet
"Unbelievable." she scoffed in joke

"I know."
He said, gently
And he kissed her forehead
"Tell me all about it."

                                                           *And they laughed...
                                                         Ever so happily...
