When I grow tall
I'll be back
To save us all
I Believe

.

I believe a butterfly

Can stop a baseball game

I know, because I've seen it

And it really was a shame,

I believe a simple housefly

Can stop a moving train,

I believe single piece of dust

Can also make it rain

I believe in every mountain

There's a pebble on it's own

I believe that every grain of sand

Is a pearl that hasn't grown

I believe that Father Christmas

Is quite real and in your heart

I believe that you can finish

Every task, if you just start

I believe, like Charlie Bucket

There's a golden ticket to be found

I believe that a tree that's in the forest

When it falls, will make a sound

I believe in every mountain

There's a pebble on it's own

I believe that every grain of sand

Is a pearl that hasn't grown

I believe that love's forever

But the one thing about this

I believe forever's infinite

And it may just last a kiss

I believe to stay together

That one's trust, it must be earned

I believe you jump into the fire

Before you know if you'll get burned

I believe in every mountain

There's a pebble on it's own

I believe that every grain of sand

Is a pearl that hasn't grown

I believe that a strong handshake

Will seal a contract, so I've heard

I believe one's reputation

Should be based on a mans' word

I believe that there is wonder

In everything that we may find

I believe that life is better

When you can have an open mind

I believe we're just a heartbeat

In the timeline life has spanned

I believe that every person

Is an ungrown grain of sand

I believe in every mountain

There's a pebble on it's own

I believe that every grain of sand

Is a pearl that hasn't grown

I believe....

our skies appear to be so gloomy
like they're always going to turn into a storm
a storm that will swipe the hopeless thoughts away
i used to look at life differently
i used to not look at life at all
but now i see clearly
the splattered like paint that are our eyes and clouds
the merged shapes and lines that are our houses and anatomies
i know now that all this will pass by like a blur
like it always does
my father tries to spend as much time with my little brothers
when i refuse to, he says
when they've grown up, i'll miss their little selves
oh, i can't guarantee i will
but i do think that he does this
because i've grown up
and he's left to miss my little self
because the people i don't recognize at reunions always tell me how big i am now
and he smiles the same smile every time at them that they seem to understand
and then he shoots me a very different one i've yet to understand

or grown, gone or just zero?
Grained or unraveled?

I'm so glad
So glad to have a friend
A friend I can count on
A friend I can cry on
So glad to have a sister
A sister to laugh with
A sister to rage with

We have fights
We have memories

And it seems so odd to me that our childhood friendship has repeated but with different people
As we have changed and grown
But at least we have changed and grown **together

I saw a man on the street he was
Of a sorrowed face,
Glum on what walked on by.
I spoke,
"Why do you sit there in your suit"

"He spoke"

"Got any spare faith"
"Spare some prayer"

I'm down on my luck, my suit once
White, now tarnished by the many
Names I have.

"A word is powerful"

"Religion was my gift"
"Now its my curse"

I must admit no offense, but I am of those
Of no religious consequence, I believe
In the seen not of what......

"This is my pain"
"This is why I ask for some spirit"

As he drinks back from a brown paper bag,

"Its not what you think"
"Holy water to keep my spirit up"

"OK"
"That's what they call it these days"

Look I know your lost, not finding your place
In this world, you had a good run, but we
Have graduated moved on.

"My words are used wrongly"
"Its not their spirit breaking"
"Mine is faltering as well"

"Look I know the doubt you have"
"But were not children anymore"

I point to the heavens, look up there, we're
No longer in the crib, we grew and were
Moving further out, those that believe,
You still have. But as time moves forward
Ourselves we will have faith in not
A past tense book that split us up.

"Peace be with you old man on the street"
"I haven't got a prayer"
"But a few coins for food of thought"

And I left him, looking back as him
I saw him palms joined together,
Hearing these words spoken out.

"Got any spare faith"
**"Spare some prayer"
