Come here
Taint me with all
Of the empty promises
You keep stored within
Your eyes
Your heart
And behind
Your lips

Come here
Tell me something that
I may not know
About myself
Because clearly you know me
Better than I do
My fears
My passions
My hopes
And my regrets

Go ahead
Fill my head
With dreams
That you say we
Could share
That we
Could hold
Within a gentle grasp

Go ahead
Crush those dreams
Within your
Deadly clasp
Destroy the
Beauty
That we hoped
Could one day be
The glue
That would hold
Us together

It’s scary what a smile can hide.
Especially when someone’s dying inside.
They super glue on a grin,
and even when its thin-
No one sees what they’re trying to hide.

I knew he was the one,
The only one for me,
When he held me,
He hugged me tight,tighter,tightest,
Until my broken heart was glued back to one piece.

I knew he was the one,
The only one for me,
When he continued to talk sweet nothingness  in my ears,
To quell my fears,
To be rejected in tears.

I knew he was the one,
The only one for me,
When he looked lovingly deep into my eyes,
Cleared away all the negative why's,
Inspite of my  beauty and brains I was left high anď dry.

Years I spent playing handyman
Fixing the cracks and the rotted wood
Of a relationship that had already been condemned
Watching from the sidelines as they threw stones in the house they built together out of glass
And I dutifully glued each shard together
Until my fingers started to bleed
And I realized I had no glue to put myself back together
and they’d just tear the house down again anyway | h.t.

You're sorry and it pains you to say.
You've found solace in other people's pain. Your shoulders were made to bear weight. You've only gotten weaker due to your training of literally everything other than yourself. They can't see your fatigue, after all you're the life of the party. You don't know this, but you're their gravity. You've saved them, and everyone but you can see.
You are a broken kingpin. You live in what's imaginary. Chess pieces to your command, instead a sacrificed king. You don't dream because that's selfish. You fell in love by circumstance. You don't think you deserve this, you think you're worthless. So do those songs that scream the same sentiment- good thing you're eclectic.
Intermediate stage of life and you believe you understand the end. Peer into their future, pity their misfortune, manifest your worth in their misguided action.
"No, you need to do this."
Show them how. They don't listen. Revert again, lend a hand, upon seeing their inept expressions. You suggest to restart another fictional world you can all escape in. The prophet dictates another prediction: "We'll be here again."
This one is you, my love.

Stop trying to cut and glue
The parts of me that
Disagree with you
I'm not at all perfect
Or a flower garden
I'm not always happy
Sorry but, construction paper
Won't fix that and
I don't want it to.
Flaws are what makes us human. Do not take that away from me.

Your parents screaming on the top of their voices
Hurling insults, complaints and abuses
Their relationship on the verge of breaking
Cause now they're tired of faking
You little girl, as delicate as feather
Acting like glue, trying to hold them together
Weak glue
   Poor you......
Children soak up everything they see, feel, and hear. When parents argue excessively and for too long, it can leave children feeling insecure and fearful.

I am the glue that holds your mind together,
You are the scissors that slash my sadness apart.
Today Tay said to me "You are the glue that holds my mind together." Which of course made me melt. And then inspired me to write this.
