I have to come out.. I won't offer lies..
there's something I just can't disguise,
my tastes are different than other guys..
I'm simply in love with chicken *** pies!

It started when I was quite small in size,
when mom shopped for her weekly supplies.
She worked all day and thought it'd be wise
to make *** pies one of her regular buys.

Loved 'em then, and this truth still applies-
Don't give me fried chicken wings or thighs,
don't serve a burger with greasy old fries,
don't cook fancy foods and don't improvise..

There's one taste sensation I dearly prize!
The best frozen meal you could ever devise!
If you want to impress or want to surprise,
just cook up a couple of chicken *** pies!

Now that this poem has reached its demise,
I'll pre-heat the oven and say my goodbyes.

She is hard to find
Lives in every heart
Have no willpower to show
This is all know
Although eyes are always shown
But we don't know!

A thinly veiled disguise
Is really what you want on their mind
So they never see the wall you hide behind
The ones put up in your mind.
A heart like an open book riddled with redactions
Your actions an abstraction
Longing to forget the obstructions you encounter and create.

being placeless is exciting.
being loved without disguise can't be described.
Jep. You have never said "I love you". Because you don't need to say that.

when someone loves me
i am afraid of it

i am talking about
undisguised love
day by day
tiny bits of myself...

...take off my mask.
behind my eyes is a green curtain
behind this curtain is my flesh

behind my flesh is my ego
behind my ego is the real me

been on a journey
take me away
and then let me stay

take me to the place of the real me
let me stay.

today is a good day.

In my head again
fighting a battle
I know I can't win.

Shut down or stand up,
never good enough.
Insecurities.

Conceding no more,
hesitation gone,
I've settled the score.

Look in the mirror,
dismiss my disguise.
Fierce and Strong I rise.
Still pretty new to poetry and trying different styles.  This one I believe is called syllabic verse and contains 5 syllables per line.  Thank you for reading hope you enjoy it.  Thank you to all whom love and support me.  Special thanks to my husband, children, brother and friends (S.M., C.H. and anyone else I forgot.)  Thank you C. Love for the revising suggestions and Gretchen Miller for the title.

You hold the beauty of angels
I see darkness in your eyes
Should have known from the moment we met
You are the devil in disguise
Just a jaded poem I wrote during a breakup a long time ago

Darkness divine,
walk beside me.
Can we revive
what we don't see?

Through misty eyes,
we see the lies
that they disguise.
Such fallacy!

Obsessed with the shade of the night,
Blinded by the fear of the light.
Can anyone tell me oh why?
Why do we pretend to not see?

Everything's an illusion in the broad daylight.
Confusion created by the distorted lies.
Haunting us every day and every night.
Truth is an ideological sacrifice.
