stars, light years away
they are long dead and gone, yet
we still see their light
my first post here, just a little haiku

In a sea of liquid gold
Your boats are full
A bounty, an argosy wasted
Adrift with no wind to fill your sails

Anchors aplenty
Weigh you down
Pull at you and slow you
As you eat of yourself

Children on the shore
Beg a piece of bread
Just beyond your hearing
And conscience you have shed

Widows mourn their loss
Their houses you have taken
To the streets they go
Like you they are forsaken

He has rowed away
Beyond you in the sea
Left the dead to bury dead
Set the captives free

when the living finally sleep and our minds go blank
we escape into the clouds and that's when we can see the stars up close
and reunite
dead and alive
stars and not stars
i promise they get better these first ones are just gonna ****

when we die we turn into stars
we live in the sky
and at night our light covers the living like a blanket
and in the day we watch over them
and even though they can't see us
we are there
first poem since 2018 ik it ***** but whatever

Raise your glasses high,
tonight we won’t cry,
the wine is pouring,
and my love is at home, mourning.
Next round is on me,
we’ll get more drunk than sailors at the sea,
just drink from your wooden tankard,
until everything around is blurred.
Let me hear you cheer,
spaced-out from ***, wine and beer.
This is our last night,
next day we march to fight.
Now, let’s dine,
cause tomorrow by this time,
we’ll be dead,
and our clothes will be red,
like this delicious crimson wine.

nul
this void,
is eating you alive
yet you kept on feeding it, knowing how much it kills you

maybe,
you wanted to disappear too.
yes, i do.

knuckles bleeding
drip down
to the ***** bathroom floor
rose petals
and diamonds
across the black and white tile beneath my feet
the bitter taste of defeat
sitting on
the tip of my tongue

eyes travel upwards
to where it used to be
dull eyes
sallow skin
yellow teeth
a corpse
i see in front of me

the corpse meets its empty eyes towards mine
a knowing smirk on its face
taunting

"i am you and you are me"

blind rage
and fury
only wanting to destroy
a craving for a feat

the dead eyes
show no emotion
but still they glimmer
with this sort of obscenity
knowing full well
of the agony created
with the waxy blue lips and destruction
caused by the skeletal limps

malice is all this monster knows

"i cannot be you, this cannot be me'

i try to look away but
the corpse is all i see
shuttering images
of the nails,
the lips,
the teeth

i grab the dagger i see before me
smashing the image
slaying the beast
till it's nothing but glittering diamonds
till i taste the blood between my teeth

knees weak
salty tears
and crimson rivers
the corpse smiles

"i am you and you are me"
"Is this a dagger which I see before me, The handle toward my hand? Come, let me clutch thee. I have thee not, and yet I see thee still." -Macbeth

This is where our course had led:
On your bed,
In my head,
Your errant thoughts were read:
Why is it we so dread
Joining ranks with deathless dead
When they their mortal cares have fled?:
These thoughts you gave to me unsaid
As our blood was shed
Beautiful, crimson red:
To new horizons tread
