The truth in which she speaks,
as if to mine own soul.
No answer; though she seeks,
    for silence is my role.

She sees the world I see,
    conveys what I can't say.
Free as I wish to be,
    real feelings still at bay.

Points in which to prattle,
    collect myself and then;
conversations rattle,
    I close my mind again.

But "sharing can be cruel,
how could I spread such pain?".
I want to break this rule,
I need to play her game.
Breath blows a tree’s leaf
Into the stream below it—
One more reminder
That seasons bring scarcity—
But still the water flows.
A preliminary poem to test out my New Year's resolution to write one poem every day in 2025.

It always sounds much better in an empty room
where the smell of leather sticks like a perfume
and the deficit of attention drowns the thought of you

Some place where perspective changes the view
of the perpetual puzzle that takes pieces of you,
and they are aged and altered into something new

The room with a sink, floors tiled, and empty walls,
where you wash your face and you dry it off,
now home to nearly broken strings
echoing
with words only important to me

While measuring the blueness of the sky,
the figs went stale.
You open your hands to grasp the last fresh ones—
like a prayer,
or a leaf in its senescence.

The heart constricts itself into a void,
like the death of a love
that arrives too late at your door.

Your forgetfulness has misplaced all your memories
somewhere in the house,
and, somewhere you end up—
without trying, but never in exile.
the distance between you and the forgotten.

The cup is full
~ambrosial madness~
Come dip a finger.

I taste sweet rage,
I taste power.

Maybe I’ve been staring at my wounds
For far too long now
And though they are now solely scars
I cannot sit here forever.
This is my 138th poem, written on 11/30/24

It begins

With fiery jokes about Canada
And your hair, blazing, untamed

Is it maybe your stunning mind
I am simmering, 180 degrees

Perhaps it is the cookies we bake,
The stories we share,
the laughter we shape
With such SERIOUS faces

I could look at you for hours.
Your beauty defies all word
But it's not even that —

Your charm and confidence  —
you wear them like a crown
—I know it must hurt

It could be your ambition
That I truly love so much

This burning sensation is so strange
I know you won't like this, but
This love, like wine, leaves me
soaked, spinning, dizzy

I am just not used to this—
I've never wanted anybody to feel so good in life
But it is what I want for you

I feel so free,

You are too —

You know the moon is free falling too

Sky
I want to walk
With this sky
It talks to me
Enveloping my heart
Giving me hope
By the time I'm free
It will be gone
And altogether
Different
With it's darkness
Not speaking
In the quiet
Stars

What this world so desperately needs is a true conversion
We need a divine healer and, sometimes, a divine surgeon
Right now, so many believe the world revolves around them
And anyone who argues differently, we quickly condemn
For all who miss the bigger picture, there is only one solution
What we need right now is to renew a Copernican Revolution
The idea that we are not the center of the universe
It must seem so backwards, it must seem so reversed
The earth revolves around the sun
And we revolve around God's only Son
For He is the glue that binds it all together
He is the anchor in stormy weather
What the world needs is a change of heart
But the change in me is where it needs to start
With Jesus at my center, I've got a radioactive core
And then there is the glow which is pretty hard to ignore
But not just once, I need it now and every day
I have this true conversion when I humble myself and pray:
I need your love, I need your mercy and grace
I need your presence to fill my every space
I need you Lord, more than breath, more than life
I need you because, without you, I am but dust in the wind
You still loved me even when, against you, I knowingly sinned
Death and separation should be my eternal reward
But in your sacrifice, you paid the price I could not afford
So now I live, not I, but Christ that lives within me
And by the blood of the Spotless Lamb, I have been set free
You are in my heart and in the depths of my soul
So Jesus, you are driving; help me give you all control

Lord Jesus, creator of all the universe, thank you for making it the way you did. The earth and the planets revolve around the sun just as our lives are in balance when we revolve around your Son. So many people in the world today put other things in the center of their lives and put themselves at the center of their universe. As Christians and Humans, we can do this too. Forgive us for our shortsightedness and open our eyes to see the bigger picture. Show us, Lord, that our lives make more sense are more in balance, when we put you in the middle. All things came from you in the first place. You were the beginning; you were the first cause. Help us refocus our priorities Lord and have this true conversion we need. And let us lovingly witness to others this change in word and prayer and deed. We ask this and all things with confidence to Jesus; the Son who is the Center in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen
