I was mute.
Responding to the silence in-between the dial tone.
A new proposal of a new unlimited data plan.
I don't know how many gigs equate to the amount of anticipation.
Sitting in silence.
Phone pressed against my ear waiting to the sound of your voice.
The smell of stair-fry coming from an oval pan.
The smell of darkened beef and steamed vegetables sizzling by a *** of rice.
Boiling over in anticipation

he watches me with those warm brown eyes, lust even with love.
each day i feel him deeper within my heart,
sweeping up the pieces to make me whole again.
anticipation fills my lungs as his fingers weave within my hair,
kissing a line of fire down my neck.
i question how it's possible to love with a broken heart,
  but here i am.
     falling again.

Time is such
an imp,
such a
prankster.

When something
fearful
is to come,
he skips
and races
just out of reach,
until,
in chasing him,
suddenly,
multiple weeks have passed
without realizing.

But if you're
highly anticipating
an event,
he ambles along
tripping you up
over and over,
and you wonder
how it could possibly still be the same day.

Does he find our frustration amusing?

A glance,
A smile,
A hint of attar.
A word.
A touch.
My heart thumps.
A sidereal excursion
And I cannot wait until tomorrow.

To the love of my life
The most beautiful woman
The one I want to make my wife

I hope you know this
I love you without end
And nothing could ever cause
that love to break or bend

You're as radiant as the sunshine
And your eyes shine like stars
You've captured my heart completely
Slapped on chains and put it behind bars

I can't express how proud
I am to be called yours
To be the one in your life
To hold your hand and open doors

You're beautiful
That's all I'm trying to say
And every time I think of you
I want to run away

To go somewhere far
And live with abandon
To the highest mountain top
And live in a cabin

To go somewhere
Where the world doesn't know
To love you fully
And where you never need to go

I love you Marissa
That's all I'm trying to say
And for you I'll do anything
Anytime, any day
I wrote this for my fiance

perhaps after
four or five winters it will come
splitting raindrops
Striving for focus, and a clear eye, in order to mark the Herald's approach.

In a dream a spider swallows a snake and
smiles
like  a
giant yellow sunflower being  kissed   by
                                                                 bees
                                                                 who
dance  wildly  with the  wind  as  it  turns
white
with
anticipation.   The  snake  charmer   plays
                                                                    his
                                                                  tune.
The  spider  dances,  rising up,  stretching,
elongating.
Her  legs
disappear, drawing   into  her  body where
                                                                    they
                                                                    turn
into a flickering tongue that protrudes from
her
lips.
She wriggles in her dance; her tongue waves
                                                                    in the
                                                                    air to
the melody, begins  to sing a  sultry,  hissing
song.
Then
the charmer's flute begins to move, undulating
                                                                        to her
                                                                        song's
cadence.   And the charmer is himself charmed.
He
sits
in a trance as his snake-flute wraps itself around
                                                                              him
                                                                              and
the  spider  looking  like a  snake swallows them
both.

Young
A field in my mind
In the distance, a golden sunrise
Along the horizon, they dance

Wings so delicate
They float on the breeze
Racing and gliding, they follow whispers from the trees

A variety of colors, all of them once so vivid
Now slowly fading away
knowing I cannot long stay
I reach and I reach
but they’re not mine to keep
In my hands, there are only moths

My clock it keeps ticking
The sand it keeps rolling
The farther they’re going away

No anticipation
aspiration
motivation too
my imagination took them and flew
leaving me thoughtlessly tied to the ground

I stare now at grey surroundings
day after day after day
they say this is nothing new
This is something I will get used to

Old
I belong to the monotony
But in my gut, there’s a mutiny
I just can’t ignore
The butterflies don’t visit me anymore.

I'll stop running from myself
When I stop ending up running into myself
When dream was the only escape, now that it's become a trap,
What do I rely on?

I don't want to find myself everywhere I go
Please tell it to follow me not
with its mind filled with vicious thoughts

Thoughts that crumble me
Purple flashes of anger
It's just the sky rumbling

Will you ever come,
pick up the scattered pieces?
And squeeze it all back into the places,

With the embrace I yearn for?

You, the mystery I loved.

You, the treasure I lost.

Once a voyager of sky and sea
On Earth I left the vast majority
Of those who chose the illusion of security
Over the idea of living truly free

I have abandoned all earthly possessions
The idea of an unconventional view is my only concession
I leave behind all of my past
To voyage across a universe so vast

I know it is unlikely
That I will find the other half of me
So for now, content with myself I'll be

As I trawl this endless sea of stars
I am battle-worn and covered in scars
Speed past assaults from the asteroid belt
Which lies beyond the red planet, Mars

At the universe's cold black mercy,
It  knows of my tender vulnerability
I man this spacecraft all alone
To find another heart to call my home
I tried something I never have before, and failed, so I'll pack up my bags to start again.
