Speak to them in hushed breaths
A wisp of air formed from chapped lips
Glide warm palms over scarred skin stretched smooth
Trace veins and leave a trace of your scent
On raw hearts and bruised body parts
Scratch sharp nails down the backs
Of those you have loved
So you can leave your mark
Rest your head on the chests
Of those you wish to be linked to
Hear the breath leave the lungs
Of those you hold close
And be soothed by the swell
Of cages of bones that hold back
The weighted hearts of once free men

I might not be the best person you'll ever know
or the prettiest you'll ever meet, but I'll set
your soul free when the world's
looking to keep you caged.
I know your dad will get drunk and spit
terrible things at you and you've locked yourself
inside your own mind and it's driving
you to drink but you don't want to end up like
him, so you deal with the pain by adding another
slash to the collection on your skin.
When you say you can't wait for me
because you miss intimacy and I'm an ocean away, know that I'll understand and keep you in my mind and hope I'll find you again when time
has given you a new perspective.
Love, when all you see is darkness, look to me
for a flicker and I'll light up your life like a flame, because from the moment you stepped
into my line of sight,
my life hasn't been the same.

I'll stitch myself together
with the most misshapen parts
and sharpest shards of who I am;
not so that I might return
to who I once was,
but in hopes that I might
become something better,
or at least someone
somewhat whole again.

Fill me up with each thought
that you have thought up
while you slept on your own
and woke at twelve at night
to show that you live
and that you have not yet ceased
to breathe in and out in time
to the beat of her heart;
pour out the lead that colors your heart
a few shades too dark to be seen
and scrub clean the scarred edges
so they can mend.
Stitch up each wound with the threads
that were left from your pursed lips
and speak to her through my words
and this mind of mine.

Quick lick across chapped lips and slick teeth,
smoke in the air and bodies swaying
to the bass beating through the ground,
heart beat racing now,
Part of the rave, club's in a haze,
my dancing partner's a daze but it's okay, walking away, further into the crowd,
spinning around, I've got them reeling now,
don't know how to keep a girl entertained.

Your words send chills down my spine, phrases fall from your lips and end as beautiful lines

You're the most beautiful poet that I'll ever find, I feel I'll love you for the rest of my life, or till the end of time

I want to be the one you find shelter in; I long for your embrace.
I wish to wipe the tears from your beautiful eyes; you alone make me feel this way.
I hope that I am good enough for you; doubt creeps in each time you are away.
I miss your caress and your care; take me away from this place.

I'm just a hopeless romantic
and you're just someone
who hopes less
with each day that passes
and has no time
for romantic actions

Self-explanatory.

Into your arms,
Into your soul,
I'll set you free
when no one knows
that you're enslaved
by the burden of
humanity.

One.
The people that crash into your life and then leave with  slivers of your heart as souvenirs are not the ones. They do not care in the same way that you do.

Two.
That best friend who gets a little drunk and spills words out like a leaking faucet chose intoxication for a reason. Tread carefully, your sensitive friend just might be the best thing to happen to you in a long time.

Three.
The 'friends' that treat you differently may very likely be looking to get something from you. Discern what, and avoid them at all costs if necessary.

Four.
Those conversations you find odd often lead to more uncomfortable topics. Turn back as soon as you pick up on a change, you likely won't like where this is headed.

Five.
The regrets you have are the most memorable. Figure out what's going wrong and use the same ideas to create better memories.

Six.
Do at least three things in your life that are utterly insane. Live a little more than the average and you'll always be the one with the best stories and the most creative mind.

Seven.
Go out for a night on the town and have a moment of complete reckless freedom. Live for today, because tomorrow holds a different fate.

Eight.
Aspire to accomplish your dreams, and use the hate and jealousy as fuel to fire your flame of desire. Don't hold back simply because others have.

Nine.
Never let the good things in life blind you from the rest. Too often, people forget their reasons for doing things when something halfway decent comes along. Don't follow in the footsteps of the fallen.

Ten.
Understand what you deserve and refuse to settle for less. Do not accept more, because being overly confident is often worse than being under, though do not accept the average as you become comfortable with that range and lose your hunger.

Eleven.
Create as much as possible, in whatever fashion suits you. Cast off judgement and welcome criticism, for if you let fear in it will replace you with a shell of who you have the potential to be.
Eleven Life Lessons that I gave to myself. Advice that can be given to someone else.
